Did Mr T tell you why the delivery was cancelled?  I'm just wondering because I am thinking about starting having some things delivered.  I worry that there may be a time when I can't actually go shopping myself & think it might be better to actually be prepared so I know what is what.  I'm not sure what I would have done if I had got covid & not been able to leave the house.  I don't really want to give up being able to select fruit & veg but it may become necesssary.  I worry about substitutions too & having to reject them.  Yes I was born worrying, I think this will need a lot more thought.

Ooh, you're at the collecting boxes stage!  Time to start hoping it's all going to work ...

  • Yeah hopefully KC!

badmemory it was staff shortages. To be fair I think that’s the third cancellation in 6 years so it isn’t too bad. It’s coming tonight so all is ok. Deliveries got us through the early lockdown days as I book my slot weeks in advance at the same time each week. Just booked 13 March slot today.

Glad the house move is progressing @debtfreeoneday.  I would have had a survey too, a friend had one on a house purchase  recently and found a couple of issues, the seller resolved one and knocked money off for the other, so it was probably worth it.

You are doing really well on the surveys and pay outs.  I'm still doing Huyu and Shoppix, but I need to start doing some surveys again to top up the nectar points.

Wow, over £200!  So brilliant, that's an appreciable amount of money you're putting into the house moving pot.

  • Been doing some new house budget calculations.

Council tax goes down from D to B. This should be about £50 a month.

Water budget per month goes down from £80 to £30. I’m not convinced on this. We don’t currently have mains drainage but on speaking to the water company and then looking at our usage, apparently we are super frugal and our bill should be about £27 monthly. We have a meter here and the new place does too. How does that compare to any of you guys?

Electricity. Likely to increase aside from the price cap increase. It’s on a pre payment meter which we will get sorted and off asap.

Tv / Broadband / phone. We can ditch the landline finally and broadband will decrease due to having a lower speed there. Savings of approx £15 per month.

So £115 saving per month. Likely to all be diverted to the electricity. We are determined to look at alternative power solutions as we renovate the house.

Have a focus group this evening. Surveys are slow. 1poll annoying me with their attention check questions.

My water is about £15 per month, debtfree, but I used to get invoiced by one company at that rate, and another company at another £10, and I don't know what's happened, to be honest.  There's just one of me.

Will the leccy bill come down again as you get off the prepayment meter?  Nasty things!  What's the insulation like?  As for alternatives, I'm sure Cheery had a ground source heat pump installed, can't remember when, but if you search the words on her diary, you should find them.

Just watch that they will let you stay on the SVR if you change your meter type. Obviously I don't know but these energy companies are crafty types, got to watch them every step of the way.  It is only a couple of years ago (before it all went to pot) that someone had a real big fight after being on a fixed rate & agreed to have one of these new meters & got charged at the full rate for power.  Get it in writing!!
