Quiet day needed today. Lurgy in the house. All tired from lack of sleep. Taking it easy.£5.40 in from prolific. Few amounts requested from top cashback and item sold on fleabay. Large bottle of washing liquid for a trial just arrived so that will save me buying some for the next few weeks.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Uh oh to the lurgy, that sounds a bad one. Glad to hear you're taking it easy - hope it gets sorted quickly and you can all progress on to convalescence.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

House move seems to be ticking along ok. We should come out with about £16k excess once we moved. It’s easier to ‘Port’ our mortgage from one property to another.Had a bit of free money in from surveys etc. gift payoff is currently at £548.99 / £800. It gone back up a little as I’ve bought two gifts recently. Keen for payday this week to get rid of it finally. Mortgage CC payoff is £118.41 / £914.17
We won’t mention the £88 I’ve paid out this week for a speed awareness course to avoid penalty points on my licence. 😬DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

worth it, the insurance premium increase for speed related points over four years would be more than £88 so actually you are being very MSESave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2226.88/£3000 or 74.23% of my annual spend so far

Energy issues continue. Ended up on the phone to the Ombudsman for an hour yesterday as energy company have amended my opening meter read to the wrong read meaning we went £300 in debt to them and left us in an even worse position than when we raised the complaint. The case note I received initially said the Ombudsman were happy they had done the right thing hence the phone call being made by me rather stressed. Outcome being the Ombudsman think the energy supplier have now done totally the wrong thing and so the case needs to be reviewed post outcome they call it. He did say the action should be for the energy company to adjust the meter read to the proper amount or to apply a credit to our account. It’s now about £250 I reckon they owe me.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Aieee! Debtfree, so sorry to hear you've had to do this. You've made my mind up for me - nowadays, to read the meters I take photos on my phone, because they're both accessible but awkward, and its much easier to take a phone photo than use a notepad. I was going to erase the photos, just as a general rule sort of thing, I have plenty of space on my phone. But I won't erase them now. What a good job you managed to stick to calling the Ombudsman again.2023: the year I get to buy a car4

I divvied up all the money due to come in on payday and frustratingly I still haven’t cleared the gift pot. I thought it was Jan and Feb for the council tax free months but no. So it will get cleared in February but not until the end of the month.Currently at £154.86 left to go.Did our mortgage call yesterday and all approved. The new mortgage will be issued at £52307 And I reckon by the time we move we will be down to about £50k so I’ll make a swift OP once we’ve moved. It does mean we won’t knock off as much in overpayments this year as I’ll be really close to our 10% pay off amount already. I’ll guess I just start building up a pot ready to knock off a decent whack at the start of next year. I did find out we pay back £1.11 for each £1 we borrow though.Everything a bit quiet on the money earning front. Cashed out on prolific yesterday for £5.42 and should be able to cash out again today. 1poll app and website are playing up for me. And ipsos seems to be very slow going for whatever reason.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
