Mortgage free by 2023 (!)

Payday and mortgage payment went out, so with our regular OP that we make on mortgage OP day and having gone through and divvied up all the pennies, I sent another OP of £150 making the OP total for May as £315.81. Really happy with how May panned out in terms of OPs.
Boosted our EF by £500 this month due to mis-budgeted pension and backdated pay rise.
Put aside some money for kids as both are due to start music lessons next month and also have Brownie and Cub camps to pay for in the next month or so.
Looking a bit mizzy out there again today, must check weather app in a min as everyone was on about beach days today but I can't see it myself!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Good to see you back on here, I have looked out for your diary a few times.
Glad to hear home Ed going well and working out for you as a family. Good luck with house viewings too, exciting times.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Mortgage figure updated for the month and I really hope to keep that under £84k with the OP's. Still haven't managed to clock what the daily interest is so obsessed am I with OPs! Think I will try not to OP until mid of next week and actually check the rate so I know what it is!
Few spendy days of late, but essentials like pegs, household cleaning stuff and an ice cream for the littlies today whilst out enjoying the gorgeous weather!
That's it really for spends apart from a new shower curtain, there is only so many times I can hole punch another hole in the top of the existing curtain!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Nice work on the OPs. Will you be MF when you move or will it depend on what you buy?0

It would totally depend on what we buy and to get MF we would seriously have to downsize and compromise. We did look at a property on Friday from the outside which would mean MF, but no access to it, no parking and elevated from the road meaning 30 steps to the front door from a busy busy road with no pavement - so not ideal!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Two things sold on fleabay today so I've an OP of £17.72 to go through but will wait till mid week to work out the daily interest.
Had house viewing earlier, but they were late and stayed 7 minutes so I won't hold my breath!
We also started talking about staying put as the house is all we want, the location is fine and we can't put our finger on why we want to move specifically apart from reducing the mortgage. We do have a pot of pennies that DH got from his pension that matured last year so are thinking of using that to do a few renovations that would make this more comfortable, ie replace patio door, new garage door etc
Food for thought anyway.
Off to the pictures later and then it's all back to usual tomorrow!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

When you factor in moving costs, I'd say if this house is okay, stick with it. Maybe because I found moving house so traumatic!
I'm really looking forward to having a shower door rather than a curtain when we have our bathroom done up. Ours seem to get mouldy so quickly - I hate the things!Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

We will probably end up staying tbh. Shower curtain ordered and two workbooks ordered in advance as didn't want to pay £4.49 postage!
Back to home ed stuff today though we didn't completely stop last week.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Slight update to the good on the balance as my last OP from last month got credited so sitting at £83,748.02.
Still haven't been able to work out daily interest, hoping tomorrow will show me that as I'm desperate to kick off the OPs this month.
Weather is bright today, unlike yesterday when it poured down and we got a tad wet at our activities!
Food order came and we need to spend the next 7-10 days emptying the freezer so we can defrost it. Determined to make sure the kids are eating healthier and I'm also starting a 'eating a lot more healthier in the hope my backside reduces in size' quest tomorrow. I'm not using the 'd' word.
Sold two items on fleabay and been PO and got those posted today.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
