and it's still raining this morning despite all weather apps telling me it shouldn't be!
Off to get feet measured today as I need to order some footwear for the little people.
Those of you with littlies - is it worth paying £40ish for a pair of school shoes, do they last all year? I can't decide whether to get a cheaper pair and then replace as they wear out / feet grow etc.
DH sold a bit item on fleabay last night for £350.. he's going to put at least £250 into the coffers hopefully.. just need to wait for the item to be delivered and make sure they buyer is happy, but that's an unexpected amount to come off the debt asap.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

We got expensive shoes for reception and they'd fell apart by February. So for the following year we opted for Aldi shoes figuring we'd be happy buying 2 or 3 cheap sets. As it turned put one pair lasted till May until he grew out of them.
Needless to say we've bought 2 pairs already for next year, in 2 sizes ready!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
I think I've been lucky but I've always bought a pair of £40 shoes in August, and they have so far lasted until July (four years I've done this).0

Thank you Mrs_E and SJ.. time will tell - we opted for expensive ones as I needed to go there anyway to get their feet measured, but I did look in A$da as well and saw a pair I would have bought little man.. just didn't like any for girlie.
I hate spending sooo much on shoes. Just their bags and lunch bags left to get and we are done..DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Mortgage payment made and figures updated. Figuring I should work off yesterday's figure as that is the absolute amount we have paid off and not the updated figure today as interest will just get applied to it all month? So we have definitely paid off £114,728.49, meaning £31.71% of the house is ours.
Will definitely look to produce a spreadsheet tracking this, just still trying to get my head around daily interest and how I work that out if I'm making lump sum overpayments when I can - anyone shed any light? Based on what it was last payment date and today, divided by days in the month, we are paying £9.46, but when I log on a few days in a row, the daily interest is around £12.81 - so I'm slightly confuzzled..
Yesterday was a spendy day due to buying shoes and a sandwich which we all shared... plan today is to visit a local farm shop for a nosy and then do a little coastal walk and drop by a playground on the way back. so aiming for no spends today.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

The sun shone in the end today, so a nice few hours out and about in that.
Been messing about with figures and have made a payment of £400.79 to CC2, leaving the balance for that now at £1482.66, so under the £1500 as expected this month, hope to be able to send a bit more here and there this month, but nothing massive.
Divvied up some money from the fleabay sale between the pots and also have £61.76 to pay off the mortgage, so will request a call from them tomorrow to sort that out.
Also added a little to the emergency fund and we are up to £230 now in that.
Off to work tomorrow, despite working term time, I have to do a few days in the break, so getting one of them out of the way now.
Been reading the Konmarie thread on here and kondo'd my underwear drawer today - ashamed to admit I'm quite chuffed with it now even if I did sit there amazed at myself for rolling my knickers up! Needless to say DH thinks I have lost the plot.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Good to see you feeling more positive and making brilliant progress as usual!
When I was a kid we always went to Windsor's world of shoes, where it was about £4 a pair. :-) Don't remember mine ever falling apart but my brothers' never lasted long as they played lots of football.
CC2 will be gone before you know it!

Two days of sun sun sun forecasted.. YAY!
We are off swimming this morning as lessons have been moved midweek which is a great idea! Then of to Mr T to pick up reduced compost and bark.. wood for the back of the planters bought yesterday and the stone chipping for the paths so the house is well and truly spent, might need to pinch £10 from somewhere else.. but hoping for a dry weekend so we can really get the planters finished and plants planted.
Got to also take a few items from a T direct order back at the same time and then we are done with chores and will get out on the moors somewhere local to enjoy the weather (and tire the littlies out)
Need to book the next batch of swimming lessons today.. thinking I need to up the money e put away for the little people as it just covers swimming lessons, but they are likely to incur costs when they start school, trips here and birthday parties there.. so might increase this by £20 a month.. if it's too much I can always swipe the money elsewhere.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Just harassed the bank to see what my pay looks like after a few months of variable pay and I've £41.64 extra than budgeted, so divvied this up.. Now have another £20.62 built up to come off CC2, but am going to wait until the end of the month to pay this I think as it's not attracting interest.. also have £72.38 to pay off the mortgage - scheduled a call with them for Friday to make this payment. most other payments go out tomorrow, so I should have a few more pence here and there.
Slightly concerned that when I look at my 'pots' I'm getting obsessed with having round numbers of all amounts and keep sending the pence to the MFW account! I'm going MSE mad!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Obsession, obsession, obsession. Spreadsheets and round numbers - its a curse that affects all MFW's!
I know what you mean about little people cash. Our pot for little people ended up quite substantial so we used it for decorating the boys room in the end. But equally it always gives the security of a school trip or that week that one of them suddenly explodes in length and needs all new pants and shoes!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
