Thanks
I had briefly looked & wondered if its worth it but I've not looked at them in any detail to see what they cover. We're contracted to £13.50 per month for the phone & calls etc so not just the phone to consider.
On the whole he's not too bad but acidents do happen & I think part of teaching him to be responsible is also about forward planning, considering the worst case scenario & what can he do to protect himself & is it necessary / worth it.
Cheers

This doesn't matter and doesn't have anything to do with the insurance. You pay mainly for the airtime, not for the phone.sooty&sweep wrote: »We're contracted to £13.50 per month for the phone & calls etc so not just the phone to consider.
What only matters is that, if needed, a new phone can be bought for ~£110, a second-hand one for peanuts.0 -

So what would happen if he lost the phone & I bought another handset ?
Would I be able to get another sim so that he could access the calls, texts etc we'd be paying for as part of the contract ?
Sorry if this is a daft question but I've never done much with mobiles. I'm on a £7.50 per month contract which I took out because it seemed a better deal for me than a payg. I've never bothered with insurance because I realised the replacement cost would be less than the insurance.
Thanks

Almost certainly - but whatever you did the insurance wouldn't pay your line rental.0
