Salmond wrote a book after the independence referendum. Leaving little unanswered and it sold very well in Scotland. It was everywhere. As for 'local'.. in that case, so was the Scottish referendum in that context. Good luck with defining the possible break up of the UK as a 'local issue'.
Please, you should perhaps edit the post to indicate the point you are trying to make correctly?0 -

It's okay, she makes things up from time-to-time and then ignores any evidence to the contrary.
The Salmond book ranks c. 2 millionth in hardback and c. 33,000th in paperback on Amazon and there is nothing to suggest that this is in some way atypical.
We had exactly the same thing with the claim that YouGov had updated their polling as a result of the mess they made of predicting the General Election. I then posted a blog by Anthony Wells, Director of Polling at.....YouGov showing that they had not updated their methodology. Not a flicker and she still claims that they have updated their methodology!0 -
Like all socialist parties the SNP are spending a lot of money.
And again, like all socialist parties, they are borrowing much of what they spend.
Detailed proposals for a Financial Watchdog to scrutinise spending and borrowing were at an advanced stage. But, all of a sudden, the SNP have decided this is not a very good idea.
Has Mr Swinney got something to hide?

you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

I really do get a feeling that this whole SNP thing is going to go quite horribly wrong. They simply don't seem to like any sort of oversight or checks on their power. That rarely ends well.0 -
I thought I would have another look at the web presence for The National, now its been out a while. This time using Similarweb.
Global rank 91,041 - and falling.
Second largest number of geodemographic visits from... Malawi. IS that where passionate would-do-anything-for-scotland-but-live-there Scots are moving too now?
The average visitor spends... just 2 minutes on the site and looks at 1.82 pages. Not even 2.

Not really. Most of the Smith Commission have come out today in support of Swinney ( Labour, Lib Dems and Greens ) and it dies look like Swinney was wise to hold out for a better deal.UK Government offers Scotland £4.5bn compensation deal 'to break fiscal framework deadlock'
A COMPENSATION deal worth £4.5 billion over the next decade has been offered by the UK Government in a bid to break the deadlock with Scotland over tax powers. Treasury Chief Greg Hands has today written to John Swinney, the Deputy First Minister, setting out the details of the offer, which he hopes will clear a path through to an agreement on the so-called fiscal framework ahead of Scottish elections in March.
There is a Friday deadline for a deal but Holyrood’s further powers committee has now agreed to extend it to February 23; a day after the House of Lords is due to debate the Scotland Bill.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

You don't think any of the polling companies are updating their methodology after the GE ? Okaaaaaay....
I can't imagine why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist over Salmonds book. But it sold well in Scotland. Don't believe that if you like. *shrugs*.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Nah, it's just part of something a lot larger in terms of pro-independence websites. Common Space, Bella, Wings, Newsnet, Bateman, Weeginger dug etc. Its just that the National and the Sunday Herald are the only pro indy news outlets in print.
Mine is delivered via email every morning, but most will probably access single articles via Twitter. Which is free to do.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Scottish Affairs Committee MP's have backed Swinney unanimously as well as those MSP's who sat on the Smith Commission ( minus Tories ) who've backed Swinney as well.
Must be the reason for the new offer.Greg Hands, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, prefers the “levels funding” option; meaning that as the UK population is forecast to grow twice as fast as Scotland’s, it would not have to pay disproportionately towards Scotland’s public services.
But in a report, the committee – which it was highlighted has four Nationalist, four Tory and three Labour members – came out in “unanimous” support of Mr Swinney’s preferred optionIt all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

More powers and compensation for taking on those powers.
Sweet - no wonder Sturgeon's gone mum on independence.0
