In London just now and I've noticed loads of British flags ( tourist places) but no English flags, I find that quite sad tbh, it would be great to see loads of people proud of their country by showing their own flag.

Maybe when we get independence the people of England will more willing to display it

I noticed when I was in Wales last month and the month before there were plenty of Welsh flags about, was good to see :)

I guess you would be confused why the English don't dislike the Scots

It does make me titter when you do it - especially as you're from Dorset(?).

Then again I do find Jamie Oliver's 'mockney' accent to be pretty funny too.

Perhaps its 'Jockney' in her case!:)

    Open mindedness surprises you?

Would it be ok if I waved this flag?

Typical petty nationalist, obsessing about flags.
Most English like the majority of Scots just get on with their lives without getting depressed about the displaying of flags.

I find it insulting. Crossing the A1 border the other day, three Scottish Saltires on the left hand side going up and not a single English flag on left hand side going down. Rude! At one stage on the M74, the signs welcoming you to Scotland were in bright blue with white lettering (just by chance the motorway signs and the Scottish Saltire colours coincide...) and the one welcoming you to England, if you took out a magnifying glass and looked carefully was in a dismal brown with small lettering. Once again, not an English flag (and still not) in sight.

If it's too cringeworthy and embarrassing to have the same flag used by the crusading Knights Templar in 21st Century Britain then have a competition and change it. To me though, it's our flag and we should embrace it. If I look out my window just now, I can see at least ten windows with either small Scottish flags pasted in the corner or large ones hanging from the windows. We should keep the Union Jack solely for occasions or offices which represent the UK, e.g. Buckingham Palace, the Olympics, the Houses of parliament, tours by the British Lions, and use our own country flags for everything else.

Come on, town halls across England. Why can't you follow your Welsh and Scottish counterparts and fly the St George's Cross on your buildings?

Nothing official. I just googled "earth flag" and came to a site from some grad project.
    http://www.flagofplanetearth.com/

Still, it looked the best of the options I saw.

Yep what's so wrong with it ?

I have seen people being slated for having their English flags out and find that a shame tbh ... it's part of your identity be proud of who you are

I must state for the record though, I don't and have not ever owned a Saltire or English flag ... nothing against them I just don't feel the need to fly them, but being in London just now surrounded by British flags I can't help feeling sorry for the people of England
