There will definitely be a big NHS crisis in Scotland over the next few days. As well as Swinney being the worst finance minister since time began.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Who said this in March 2014?

    Looks rather foolish now........

Salmond ? My goodness, don't tell me be believed government statistics back in March 2014 ? No-one else does these days. He's stated several times that the Treasury leader ( McPherson ) stating after the referendum... that he willingly threw impartiality out the window during the campaign shocked and disappointed him greatly.

I'm sure he does feel a bit foolish for trusting them. He said so in his book. But Ruth ( yes only 1,800 people voted for me in Scotland but am Tory leader anyway ) Davidson's bias shouldn't be presented as in anyway 'balanced' either. She presents those stats as 'Salmond's dodgy oil predictions.. when they clearly aren't.

Sadly, this all now means that a huge big swathe of Scottish voters don't believe any Treasury figures coming out of Westminster anymore either. They can't be trusted to be impartial, not when they've already admitted that when it comes to Scotland... they won't always be.

Scotland's looking bright & sunny for next year :)

Wee bit chilly in the borders though.

    All good

Imagine Scots people voting Tory. At this rate Scotland will have to leave Scotland, innit.

The thought of a post Brexit indyref and Scotland still voting to stay within the worlds most successful Union is immense. I love how the Nats think it would be an absolute given that Scotland would choose to leave if the wider UK voted for Brexit. Cue another meaningless poll from Shakey!😀

I am probably the most ardent supporter of Scotland staying within the Union on this board and my support for that is based primarily on the economic benefits.

It would be just as mad for the UK to leave Europe as it would be for Scotland to leave the UK however.... So at that point all bets would be off.

Scotland outwith the UK today would suffer a radically lower standard of living and a lot of needless pain.

Unemployment would soar, people's incomes and wealth would decline, and their taxes and cost of living would rise.

But if the UK left the EU we'd all suffer that fate.

At that point the choice between staying and leaving is far less clear cut.

    Even for me...

It was the same speech, reported widely and er 'interpreted' by several newspapers and tv programmes. Not just the Scotsman as it was Cameron's first ever cabinet meeting in Scotland. Seems there was a 200bn oil 'deal' on the cards... but only if Scots voted No.. which they did.

    http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/feb/24/david-cameron-north-sea-oil-scottish-independence

Notice there's a 'promise' there ? Or was it a lie ? Deliberately misleading voters perhaps ? Or mabye you, string et al could just admit that Cameron and BetterTogether were no better at oil prices than the SNP were at the time ?

Or the Daily Mail if you prefer ?

    Yes well... What deal ?

You are very adept at missing the point, and raising one we weren't discussing, in every reply.

We were discussing lies. Alex Salmond and the SNP deliberately overstated Scotland's prospects on oil.

David Cameron said there was potential but warned of the downsides should the oil price fall.

    It's tremendous isn't it?

You point out where the SNP failed - she changes the topic.

You provide proof - she compares it as being no different to some Labour failure dredged up from a decade ago.

It's almost as if Shakey is determined to establish that the SNP are just as bad as Labour. :)
