Salmond and Sturgeon Want the English Fish for More Fat Subsidies

Didn't Mr Farage get chased into a pub by a mob? Does that not count?
Interesting point nonetheless.
He was heckled by a bunch of anti-racism protesters belonging to the unionist Labour party and the local university Socialist society. The only mention of any heckler's nationality was by one who tweeted "Ukip protest yesterday branded as ‘anti-English’. As a proud Englishman, arrested yesterday for protesting, I dispute these claims."
It was Farage who introduced claims of Anti-Englishness into the protest. And some of the papers obviously him at his word. As usual.

Today at FMQs Sturgeon totally lost her composure under questions from Kezia D and Ruth D on Police Scotland'
Post 6820 doesn't even mention Kezia Dugdale
' Sturegon losing her cool so much she resorted to her Dreghorn shriek voice level at FMQs'
Nowhere did I mention Dugdales towering performance, nor that I thought it left Sturgeon demolished, cowering in fear of Kezia. Those are your words, not mine. And your reason, is simply to project SNP party central rhetoric on here for passing viewers of the thread. ( do you think I didn't notice your careful double inference of in my opinion in your creative posting ) Were you worried your message wasn't strong enough?
A simple majority isn't enough for SNP fans at H/R next year (which I've said for over a year now looked inevitable ) is it?
You need much , much more than that. How's that expert Fracking committee report getting on these days?
I wouldn't worry about who's words are who's. They weren't intended to be taken literally. But you do seem to post here a lot about FMQ's and how "badly" Nicola Sturgeon appears to do each week. One can only assume that her opponents, Dugdale and Davidson.. ( from your perspective ) are putting in sterling performances against her leaving Sturgeon flailing around and shrieking a bit.
The SNP will need a majority, simple or not, in order to even contemplate a 2nd ref in the next 5 years. And you have to understand, that even policing, nhs concerns and fracking.....while contentious and the SNP rightly called out on perceived or otherwise failings.... When one looks around to the alternative parties at the moment in Scotland, none of which seem to have a coherent policy to offer between them on anything at all. It's not difficult to see where the SNP may get that majority from.
I saw a remark on another site which struck me as true. Especially when it comes to the tax credits/Scotland Bill/Smith Commission saga.. and the person said that the other parties don't see the word's 'Holyrood' or 'Scottish Govt' anymore. All they see are the SNP 'getting more powers' and they want to do everything they can to stop it instead of thinking about will happen, one day, when they're in power themselves. There's no way if Labour were in govt in Scotland they would be advocating mitigating UK wide tax credit cuts. They'd be moaning and whingeing sure.. but I doubt they'd be offering wholesale penny for penny compensation without any fully 'costed, credible plans' in place to do so. Like they appear to be doing now in a 'hey we won't cut APD and that'll give us millions extra' ( it won't ) in 2 or 3 years time to mitigate a cut coming in in April. I'm having a hard time getting my head around the fact that the media hasn't picked them up on any of this. It's crazy stuff. And it's offering false hope.
You have to face the facts sooner or later that Scottish Labour and Tories aren't really interested nowadays in what's good or not long term for Scottish residents. Just what would cause the SNP most damage. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Maybe you need 2 independence parties up there; one with a left of centre agenda, and one with a right of centre agenda.
That would leave people able to keep their independence view separate from their political outlook on ordinary things like big state / little state.0 -

why do you think that very high level of benefits is good for scotland?
do you think that higher and higher benefits should be paid to people irrespective of their contribution to scotland?
do you think that scottish people doing only a few hours work serving coffee should be receive more take home pay than a scottish teacher.
Is that the SNP vision of the future?0 -

How will Scottish residents be better off with independence? How will the SNP make Scotland richer? If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

I don't think, initially anyway, anyone who wants independence thinks we will be better off. The finances & economy are part of the equation but not all. Who knows if the SNP can make Scotland richer or better. Time will perhaps tell.
Primarily, for me anyway, it was about self determination & Scotland being in control of her destiny. I wanted us to be a small, peaceful nation. No nuclear weapons & trying to be a big player in the world. The great British empire means nothing to me.
That's it.
There are a million different reasons why people wanted/want autonomy and I have many, too many to list on here. I'd need to sit and ponder as I don't dwell on what might have been.
Yesterday's chat about incidents stirred some memories for me. Mostly good that made me smile though. I remember canvassing and a house had a full size mannequin decked out in Yes regalia right in front of a full length window. Only in Scotland! Bizarre yes but these little memories and the excitement and feelings & aspirations will never be seen again.
I think even if a rerun happens it won't ignite the same passions second time around.0
