I would agree the SNP are the best we have, and certainly much better than the others on offer.
The Kezia thing was pay day loans, she is blaming the SG for some pay day stuff totally ignoring it is a Labour run Glasgow that is to blame .. as well as missing a few choice SNP bits out ... Poor lassie, she hasnt quite worked out that if she lies or tells half truths she gets caught out now ... been that used to getting away with it for too long lol0 -
well your the one that brought up nationality ... are you suggesting that everyone that has posted on this thread must immdiately state they think that your terms of anyone but the english and flower of scotland is a hate filled song constitutes racism and is wrong ... or were all racists ?
have you had a wee drink on a school night ?
If one is discussing the SNP's wish to increase borrowing to fund more spending and so try a novel alternative to austerity, then the Flower of Scotland and anyone but the English is irrelevant.
However, if one is discussing Scottish attitudes to the English and a wish to be independent then the 'Flower of Scotland' and 'anyone but the English' is relevant.0 -

It's quite sad but some people are ingrained in their views and it appears with this issue it is deep rooted.
I remember us discussing this previously0 -

One more time for good luck, then i am gonna ignore any further attempts of your accusatory attitude... I am English, so dont have a Scottish attitude ... hmmmm0 -

Oh dear, surely she should be savvy enough to realise people can easily look up references & what/why/who made mistakes & wrong choices.
This is the Age of Enlightenment for us Scots. Nothing will go unchallenged now and this is one of the best things to come out of the referendum.
The invention of tinternet is a wonderful thing :T0 -

I said that 'flower of scotland etc' and 'anyone but the english' are symptoms of racists attitudes and should be condemned and not condoned or trivialised.
you have chosen to personalise the issue rather than confront it.
the end of your blind alley has been reached but without the actual issue being addressed
your nationality or that of your partner, parents or best friends are not relevant to the issue.0 -

Now just hold on a minute. Flower of Scotland was a song written fairly recently, about a battle that took place over 700 years ago. And I'm sorry, Edward I wasn't up in Scotland, nor called 'The Hammer of the Scots'.. because he wanted to love bomb the place. He wanted it to become part of his English kingdom by force. Not because the Scots wanted it. There were also many Franco-English wars and battles fought on the same basis.
The song is about one battle and one King and his army, 700 years ago. The song itself says 'Those days are past now, and in the past they must remain'. No-one has any problem with that. And if there was ever any problem about writing songs/poems about events, battles and wars that happened in the past.. Then Britain and yourself would be condemning a good few of of it's very best. And a good few who came to prominence recently in two world wars, writing prose and laments of their experiences.
Is this anti-French considering the subject matter and the fact the battle took place in 1415 rather than 1314 ?The game's afoot;
Follow your spirit: and upon this charge,
Cry — God for Harry! England and Saint George!
And for what it's worth 99 out 100 Scots would have no reason to sing Flower of Scotland on any occasion in YEARS. Because most of us aren't avid rugby fans or had tickets for the Commonwealth games. I can't actually remember the last time I was anywhere socially where this was sung, for any reason.
You've cast your net way to wide with this one. I'm getting fed up with the self-righteousness about it to be honest. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I am friends with a labour councillor in Glasgow who repeatedly posts about SNP and their failings. Labour are quaking in their boots.
In my own constituency the labour run council are under fire for proposing to reduce the school week hours. They have reversed that decision but people are outraged and angry at both the labour MP & MSP for claiming they firstly knew nothing of this proposal and secondly their intervention reversed this decision. People/parent power reversed it and everyone knows it.
I think our SNP candidate has a strong chance of victory and nothing will please me more. :-)
As has the one in my area. Local MP been one of those 'pin a red rosette' ones on for about 20 years. I think his time is up, despite his majority.
Has Labour ( Lord ) George Foulkes gone completely off his trolley today, or was this tweet a while ago ? And another Labour ( Lord.. because it just screams working class roots doesn't it ? ) Howie ? suggesting the same today. This is chronic desperation stuff.. any Labour leaning voter who's seeing these 'prompts' to vote Tory must be wondering what is going on. And be recoiling in horror at the very suggestion that they ditch decades of loyalty, belief and trust in Labour.. in order to vote for a party most abhor, and always have. More to the point, what actually is the Scottish ( branch of ) the Labour party standing FOR anymore. We all know what they're against.
A serious mistake. Vacuous and uninspiring.
Nicola Sturgeon knows better than to engage with the likes of can't even access First Minister's Questions in Holyrood ( need a special pass ) MP Jim Murphy.
She's making her face familiar elsewhere and down south. And she never responds to him directly ( have you noticed ? ).. because she's fighting a Westminster campaign. Leader debates etc will pitch her directly against Cameron/Milliband/Farage.. with Murphy fading into irrelevancy as his 'fitba mad' persona goes down like a lead balloon. Most especially among women, as the polls are already showing with female support for the first time overtaking male SNP voting intentions.
He's fighting entirely the wrong campaign. But is scared to go in front of the likes of Andrew Neil again and actually be ASKED things like.. so are you standing as an MP or not in May ? Name three things that you differ from on policy from UK Labour ? The Scottish press never will.. so he won't stray far and make that mistake again ! Kezia and Jenny Marra have to take the flak whenever his latest policy wheeze goes t**s up. And lets face it, most have. Payday loans today was it ? Childcare day before... we're all bored with it.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Pep pay day loans yesterday, Jenny Marra got stuck into ye older NHS chestnut last night as well ... Boring.
Fergus Ewing was discussing oil along with Patrick Harvie and some Tory/labour politicians, at least the labour woman kinda knew what she was talking about, but she played the blame game as per usual so was quickly discounted.
The steps in Glasgow- there have been tweets proposing a gathering on Saturday at mid-day to let GDC know people are not happy
The latest Labour propaganda was questioned and whilst no definitive proof has been gathered the seeds of doubt have been sown
Last 24 hours in politics ( or there about)in Scotland in case you were interested0
