Salmond and Sturgeon Want the English Fish for More Fat Subsidies

So the Scottish Nationalist movement is unique across the world in that they don't hate the lot that they wish to leave...
Fanciful idea.
Oh we do hate WM ... be rest assured about that ... I've never said I don't hate WM ... pedophiles, murders theifs etc sicken me ... I would've thought it would sicken everyone though0 -
I despair if the Scots people would decide to tear up 300 years of successful co-operation because of 10 years of Government they didn't vote for. What happens when the Highlands and Islands vote for a different Government to the Central Belt and then Stornaway for a different Government to Bute?
That argument is divisive and is purely designed to foment hatred of the 'English' Tories.
I have never saw it as successful ... I am not alone either0 -

The 'powers' coming are just window dressing with a trap the SNP are not likely to fall into (the more powers but less money trap)
It's not trap its how it is. Scotland is massively subsidised by rouk if you bite the hand that feeds you it will no longer feed you.
I'm pro union as I believe the majority of Scots want to stay (pls refer to the referendum) but the noise created by the vocal majority is getting tiresome. I'm starting to lean towards hoping scotland a nd does f-off and then the Barnett money can be spent on England/Wales
It would just be a shame for democracy being as that would be the opposite of what was voted for.Left is never right but I always am.0 -

Did you fall for that claim by Jim Murphy?
The Scottish Executive, under existing powers, have allocated funding so that it will not be applied in Scotland. The Scottish Government is providing £35m this year and next year to councils to fully mitigate the Bedroom Tax.
Today’s figures come in the aftermath of Jim Murphy’s gaffe at the weekend – after he said that his party would save social housing tenants £3000 per year by abolishing the Bedroom Tax – ignoring the fact that tenants in Scotland already do not pay the tax thanks to the mitigation measures of the Scottish Government.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I have English friends and family who, like me, feel we deserve our own government.
There's too much lazy thinking going on here. England needs what Scotland already has - its own parliament.
England could achieve the same thing by allowing only English MP's to vote on English laws.
Why add another costly layer of government?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I have never saw it as successful ... I am not alone either
One of the richest and most culturally successful nations on Earth that codified most of the sports played across the world and introduced democracy to billions isn't a success apparently. Because they keep voting Tory and won't let Scotland run the place.
Was Scotland one of the most successful countries on Earth in the C16th or before?0 -
Right OK I get it that I'm old and all that ... but I was born in the 20th century not the 16th
I worry about my time ... I only use the past to learn from0 -
I see the complaint about Trident come up a lot on here.
I can understand SNP concerns. They are open about their policy.
I think there should be a plan to move Trident bases out of Scotland to England, and allow the Scottish share spent on Trident to be spent on other defence resources. In fact, they would need the money short term, to retrain those who lose work from the loss of the submarine bases.
Something as big as Trident in our defence spend needs to be homed in a place which backs the policy. That does not look like Scotland any more.0 -
I don't think it ever really was for Scotland once the people learned of all the issues surrounding it
I reckon if the rUK want to keep it then it's up to them but deff move it far away from us ... I reckon the Thames right outside WM would make the MP's be a bit more careful with their decision making so reckon that's a good place to keep it0
