Leaving aside, well, whatever, this report supports what skintmacflint has been saying for some time.

The SNP is failing Scotland’s poor, and Nicola Sturgeon is struggling to deny it

  • A majority of Scots want to retain nuclear weapons.

As of the most recent polling data....

24% back Trident's replacement with an equally powerful weapon

29% back it with a cheaper less powerful weapon

And only 37% say the UK should get rid of nuclear weapons unilaterally.

You need to provide links for your polls. The last one I remember was in January. And the Scottish portion was only a subset of the UK results so can't really be regarded as significant. Even so... There's a clear divide.

    27 January 2015
Only a quarter of people in Britain think the UK should scrap its nuclear weapons compared with nearly half in Scotland, a poll has suggested. The divide in opinion on nuclear weapons on either side of the border is evidenced in a YouGov poll for the Times, where 56% of UK respondents want to replace Trident compared with 42% in Scotland. Just 25% of UK respondents want it scrapped compared with 48% in Scotland, the poll of 1,656 adults on January 25 and 26

If Scots voters do want to keep Trident. Then they need to stop voting for a party that has never exactly hidden it's anti-Trident stance ( ie get rid asap ) in recent years.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Sigh.. It's Fraser Nelson rehashing the same story for the third time in a year... so just for that, have some Wings. Nelson seems to have missed a few pertinent facts out. Most especially when it comes to comparing two completely different education systems.. In Scotland a lot of students do degrees at colleges which Nelson has conveniently forgotten to include the figures for.
He was swiftly pulled up on it by a Research Fellow from the University of Glasgow, Dr Paul Johnson, who noted that the graph was based on UCAS figures, which cover almost all full-time undergraduate provision in England, Wales and NI but not in Scotland, where they omit roughly a third of students:

Fraser Nelson was commenting on a report on Sunday, so it was current.

I didn't watch Marr's programme, preferring a nice cup of Spanish Coffee.

I tend to avoid listening from your Boss- leaving it to those who get paid to listen, so it was good to get such a succinct summary.

I'm more curious why a "girl from Plymouth", as she has described herself previously, wants to talk to posters here in what she obviously thinks is Scottish.

Must be a term of endearment. ;)

Nope he used the same wrong figures in his comments on Sunday. Using only UCAS figures which miss about a third of Scottish students out of the equation. His assertions and graphs missing out a very large proportion of Scottish students are therefore bogus.
This has been pointed out to him several times by 'Higher Up's within the Scottish education system, and was once again on Sunday... but hey, why spoil a good SNP bad story with the real figures. The Wings story only popped up on my Twitter feed, because so many remembered Nelson making the same mistakes last time he wrote the ( same ) story.

Marr pointed it out himself, that many Scottish students study at FE colleges rather than Uni, immediately after the Nicola Sturgeon interview. Am glad you enjoy a nice cup of coffee rather than Marr. But it might also be worth your while not bothering much with Fraser Nelson articles/commentary on the SNP either while enjoying your cappuccino.
