I doubt if she will be, and I have no doubt like her predecessor she will give a portion to charity but not announce it,

Well done on winning the SNP Baaaaaad badge though, I didn't think it would take long for someone to see the negative :)

will she accept the higher lifetime pension which will be associated with the higher nominal salary

anyway why did the SNP vote to increase the First minister's salary to the highest political salary in the UK?
(presumably it was the fault of the English)

They didn't. It was Labour. Quite some time ago when they were in charge of Holyrood, linking MP's salaries to MSP one's. MSP's have since voted to break the link with MP's salaries. Nicola Sturgeon didn't take the pay rise either.
    18 March 2015

MSPs have voted to scrap the link between their pay and the salary of Westminster MPs.
MSPs are paid 87.5% of an MP's wage and were in line to get a 9% increase after the general election...
...Under the new Scottish Parliament Salaries scheme the First Minister is entitled to receive £85,598 in addition to their MSP salary. In effect, this would mean that Nicola Sturgeon could earn £144,687, just over £2,000 more than the Prime Minister, who currently earns £142,500.
But a spokesman for the Scottish government said Ms Sturgeon would keep to a voluntary Scottish ministerial pay freeze, agreed in 2009, giving the remainder to a fund to boost public spending.

Fact check before regurgitating Telegraph bile next time perhaps Clapton ? Whatever happened to that newspaper ? They used to be respected. A complete comic these days.

I don't think they're planning on standing for election in England just yet. :D Those people joined off their own backs, they like the policies.

Change 'policies' to freebies or soundbites and I could agree with you.

Genuine question - Have SNP ever disclosed how many of their new members live outside the UK or Scotland?

of course the SNP core message is attractive

what is wrong with borrowing more and not repaying debt?
borrowing more and and increasing benefits (mainly to the poor but also to rich parent and richer graduates too)

maybe the SNP could subsidise free holidays to Greece to see how borrowing can be done on a grand scale.

In fact from the SNP supporter's point of view it's even better than that because 'when the inevitable happens and Scotland splits' (something which is not inevitable) or FFA happens or even the country carries along as is, Scotland will only be responsible for at most a tenth of the debts currently being incurred.

To be honest I don't have a problem with MPs salaries in general.

Otherwise we're back to the circumstances of only those who don't need a salary entering politics.

Do you think that the English MPs should vote on the hunting laws in Scotland?
The rest follows immediately to anyone who isn't a faithful mindless acolyte of the true faith.

You can't intellectually have it both ways but why would that matter to an SNP supporter?

No. But I don't think that a majority of English MP's should be on the Scottish Affairs committee or that English MP's should be relaxed about voting down every single amendment to the Scotland Bill either. They should practice what they preach. And if not, fully expect the same in return. Scottish MP's aren't there to be doormats.

The way English MP's vote dictate a fair bit of what happens economically in Scotland, since Scottish budget allocations depend on English spending levels. The same is not true the other way round. Any decision Holyrood makes, has no impact whatsoever on England/rest of the UK. Cameron et al are playing you for a fool mate over EVEL. MSP's aren't MP's. And what they vote for in Holyrood will never have an impact on your pocket. Nor will 56 Scottish MP's ever be able to 'dictate' or 'impose' anything to 500+ English MP's.

It's different the other way round.

Also, there simply aren't enough of them to make a difference to spending overall. MPs salaries are a rounding difference.

Does it matter ? They don't canvas for votes outside Scotland ? And they didn't write that article for the Guardian either.

    Really?

You're still humouring the Gnats with responses?

Well good on you for having the patience......

Back in the real world, the SNP are an irrelevance, they're already being sucked into the 'Westmonster bubble' demanding Kensington flats and all, and we can expect them to implode over the next 5 years as the people realise they are no different to any other party.

The fox hunting sideshow was a useful reminder of SNP lies and hypocrisy, but I'm sure it'll only be the start. :)
“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
