Not really, the SSP and Greens aren't standing candidates in many areas. The SNP is probably closest to their 'principles'. Unlike you, who will probably be voting Labour in your area. Bet that makes you feel reaaaally good...
If Ed gets in, do enjoy. After all, you voted for him..Top 30 seats where tactical voting could defeat the SNP (in alphabetical order)
Seat/ Largest pro-UK party in this seat/ Combined vote share of the *other* pro-UK parties in this seat, 2010- Aberdeen North/ Labour/ 31%
- Aberdeen South/ Labour/ 49.1%
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I've had a few belly laughs on Twitter with the parody #snpout account. They posted a fake wheel and there was outrage #protect the wheel was trending:rotfl:
Tonight's hi lights for the best laughs has got to be #fundilymundily. Some tweets are so witty. You should check it out. Ease the tension a bit0 -
My friend asked did I hear Ruth say to Jim tonight during the debate "You ok, Hun":rotfl:
Did anyone hear her?0 -
#fundilymundily has had me in stitches
Wonder if we're connected on twitter0 -

Is that what passes for humour in Scotland? I always found Billy Connolly quite funny. It seems he's the exception to the rule.0 -

The whole UK has done extraordinarily well out of London over the last few decades. They have contributed a lot more per capita than any other region including Scotland.
Should we be giving all Londoners a lot more subsidy by way of thanks?
London population is twice the size almost of Scotland so you can't suggest this is some minority situation.
You are right though. It doesn't make sense to beg Scotland to stay. I would have left the decision up to the people of Scotland, but them pesky Politicians love interfering in other people's business - like SNP wanting us all to borrow more for our "collective good".0 -
@Leanne, you post, which I quoted below a post of my original remark, contains a number of remarks which I have seen from SNP sources. That's convenient because it enables me to highlight some of the statements that show that a Neverendum is very much on the SNP agenda. It goes beyond the policy itself.
The point is, Leanne, is that last year the SNP were threatening that they would not honour their part of the UK national debt; it was even said that it was not Scotland's debt to pay back, it was Westminster's.
So surely you can understand a little disbelief in the SNP's good faith when they declare a policy which involves substantial increases in the national debt while at the same time muttering about another Referendum..Leanne1812 wrote: »Haven't you noticed it is everyone but the SNP who keep banging on about a referendum? Well no - the threat of a Neverendum has been frequently mentioned, notably by Sturgeon. Seriously, every debate I've watched is filled with the other party leaders repeating it. It's the same old negative politicking. They haven't anything good to say about their own policies, just attack the opposition and using the referendum is what they see as the best turn off for the electorate who voted No.
It clearly isn't working of the polls are to be believed. I don't think any of us think there will be another referendum anytime soon. What is the timescale the parties have given to eradicate the debt? 2018/19 rings a bell. Do you think Scotland would have another referendum before then? No I don't, but those words imply that a Neverendum after that date is possible and justifiable (even though it is almost tomorrow compared with the once in a generation concept)I certainly don't unless we are marginalised and excluded politically.chat would be the point remaining in the union if that were the case.Another threat of a neverendum The powers that be must tread very carefully over the next few weeks if they want us to feel like we are a valued member of the UK.
Then I can add the threat that a UK-wide Referendum on the EU would be cause for e a Neverendum.
Now please re-read my comment and try to understand the issue I raised; you may not agree with it but at least try to understand why it is there.Union, not Disunion
I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.
It's the only way to fly straight.0 -
Here is the actual illegitimate quoteMr Clegg, when asked if the Scottish people choosing a large number of SNP MPs was "somehow illegitimate", replied: "How can a party legitimately govern a whole nation, the UK, if they want to pull that nation apart.
"The SNP might have a very strong voice in Scotland, we're talking about the government of our whole nation, and I don't think having a factionalist government where part of the government is run directly or indirectly run by a party that wants to pull the UK apart is right."
Frankly I agree with him. How can you have a minority party in Government that wants to split the country up? It's ridiculous.0 -

If Scotland votes a majority of SNP representatives and they are ostracised then I will be outraged. How would you feel if it were your representative?
Do you live here? How can you state we've not had to endure austerity like the rest of the UK has?
Agreed, it is up to scots. We decided to stay. Thanks for making us feel welcome and wanted.
You brought a deficit to the table when you joined the union.
You have been members more than 300 years.
If I recall correctly oil came into the equasion in the 1970s.
As for enduring austerity, part of the problem of the UK is the Barnett formula in which you get over £1000 each extra to us in England.
You get FREE prescriptions and FREE university among other things.
The way Sturgeon is harping on about wanting to totally disrupt any austerity measures, such as voting down the first budget should it be labour, is not exactly helping matters.
She is also finding reasons why Scottish mps should vote on matters that are purely English.
She has made it clear that she is relishing the chance to disrupt parliament and put us in a position whereby we will be forced to kick Scotland out (do what she wants and give another referendum).
In the meantime I cannot wait for FFA to be applied - be careful what you wish for, it may come true.
If this happened then you would know what austerity is.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
