The SNP have said they will abstain from English Only matters.

Where matters have an impact down the line on Scotland, of course they need to be involved?

Of course, you could agree to Devo Max and that will keep everything seperate and clear.

virtually every policy in Westminster has some sort of budgetary impact however samll, so we have the totally unfair situation that scottish MP can always have an excuse to vote on most measures where the major effect is on England and very little on scotland.
This is why the law needs changing to explicitly exclude scottish MPs voting on any devolved issues : should have been done in the first place.

I have no problem with this as long as the impact to Scotland is also removed from contention.

Surely we can agree on that

That's true, but the Scottish Electorate has always been key to secure a Labour majority.

Does he believe he can get the majority in England?

He has to convince his potential English voter base that he can, whilst hoping he doesn't completely antagonise Scottish voters.

It's a tightrope and he has slippery shoes on!

What else can he do? If he opens the door now to the SNP then Cameron will accuse him of betraying the interests of the Union just for personal political gain. He would be roundly reminded of the proclamations he was making less than a year ago.

A key asset for Cameron is that he doesn't have to rely on the Scottish vote, strange as it may seem.

Surely poor wee Nicola does not have the power over Ed to determine Labour policies?
    ...

    Poor wee Nicola?

Ed has a battle bus and she has an Attack Chopper!!

I sense a really good spoof movie coming out of all this. :)

Surely a simplistic answer would be to say that in the event of a hung parliament, he would work with the third largest party on a vote by vote basis to ensure that the policies of the Labour government are passed through and that he believes his position would be strengthened if Scottish Labour Voters turn out to cast their vote and strengthen the Labour party for the good of the whole of the UK.

He could also categorically state that he would not work with the SNP party on any matters which would lead to the break up of the union.

done, no alienation of Scottish Voters, Issue put to bed.

As I understand it, the SNP membership paid for this and helps to get around the rural countryside better than a battle bus would.

The way this is going, I can see Ed standing down shortly

Painting a picture of a nice wee lady on the side doesn't disguise an Apache gunship ;)

It's not very green is it? Couldn't they buy a hot air balloon instead? There's certainly enough fuel there to keep it aloft :D

Maybe the words of a voter from England

So the SNP charter a helicopter to help reach the remotest parts of the UK, and we are all supposed to scream in terror at the photo ridden, anti SNP article that actually demonstrates a keen interest in reaching the Scottish people on a personal level!

This helicopter is owned by PDG and rented out - so is costing less than the Conservative / Labour etc buses that reach far fewer electors. Well done SNP for showing your people that you are at least trying to speak to everyone.

P.S. your comment about Apache gunship whilst attempting to be humourous, shows you have no understanding of what the Apache looks like

I'm still struggling to see a helicopter as green.

My mate has one out in BC. It guzzles fuel and needs an engine rebuild far too often for my liking.

    It's no Prius.

NS is not the leader of the Green Party.

As for fuel, did you compare the fuel it guzzles versus a traditional battle bus to travel the length of the country?

Sometimes decisions need to be made on efficiency and effectiveness which means that other factors are impacted.

I guess your shouting for Cameron, Milliband, Clegg and Farage to get on their bikes ;)
