I think you will find that if the people of Scotland want to be independent and are denied another referendum then that would be to the detriment of the rest of the UK
I was, I remind you, talking of an illegal referendum, but I don't think a Neverendum is very popular in Scotland. The world does not revolve around Natland.

Illegality brings all sort of problems, as I have indicated. A lot of debt yes . . . Scottish oil? What's that?

No the SNP has little choice but to wait it out, unless it is willing (you guys seem to be eager) to risk the livelihood of all Scots; all Scots in Natland that is.

In the meantime Scots will soon get bored with the SNP fanatics when, in their frantic efforts to show how poor Scotland has become after the Enhanced Devolution they are being given, they ruin the Scottish Economy and increase their debts. Sooner or later the SNP will not be able to dodge the blame due to them.

Oh i agree many are not ready for another referendum ... myself included ... i'm done in after the last one ... and certainly wont be involved in any of the campaigning in any more referendums .. i will be at the parties next time.

Once again i would like to remind you ... it is not just the SNP that are after independence ... i imagine not living here you find a lot of things hard to understand and confusing ... but the SNP was not the be all and end all of the independence campaign ...

This thread makes me wonder if the recent referendum where the Scottish people rejected independence was just a dream.

The SNP seem pretty happy to ignore the result and force independence on an unwilling UK.

    Generali,

Seriously, the people who keep harping back to the referendum most are the unionists. In Scotland right now the focus is on the GE. Thats it! No indy 2 talk whatsoever where I am. I am friends with two staunch unionists and we have a small group where we chat/debate. They pick up on every comment or minor news article as if it's going to lead to UDI. It really has gone beyond hysterical. Calm down I tell them, it is not going to happen anytime in the near future. We had a chance at it and we said no.

The SNP aren't stupid, you said it yourself. They want to gain support from all of Scotland not alienate prospective voters if they keep harping on about independence. Their job and focus right now is to govern Scotland to the best of their ability so they will be re-elected. If they don't then they're out. Simples.

no they have time and time again stated they have accepted the result.... They have also stated that it will be up the the people of Scotland when they choose to go for another referendum ... something which i personally find both insulting and annoying
