Yeah, it's not nice when a minority group try to foist their preferences on the majority, thinking they know better than us.

Oh...wait....that sounds a bit like what the SNP are trying to do in this GE!

    Those pesky SNPee'ers :rotfl:
What majority is that? You mean the tory majority that couldn't win an election outright when Labour had their worst ever election result in 2010. You mean the 'us' that does not include me and millions of others who don't want to leave the EU or need a referendum to say it; a referendum called for the convenience of the tory party not the British people!

Or like Labour who can't win a majority today?

What, like the Scottish referendum that the SNP foisted on the majority of Scots that didn't want to leave the UK?

Yet they still have the break up of the UK as a key policy and will doubtless be pushing for it continuously.

Can someone please explain how the SNPs 50 votes is greater that the combined total of Labour / Conservative votes?

I'm really struggling with this one, and I've tried all sorts of tricks with my calculator. There must be something really obvious I'm missing.

Is this where middle-England gets its information?
  • Viva, Scotland doesn't want independence, the SNP want to make such a nuisance of themselves that public opinion in favour of the Union changes and the UK becomes ungovernable with us in it.

On behalf of the 50%+ of Scotland that don't support the SNP, I'd like to apologise for their antics now, as it's likely going to get worse before it gets better.

Jeezo Hamish, it's only people voting in an election. Is that the kind of 'antics' are you are apologising for ? Blimey.

I'd be more worried about the antics of Boris Johnson today talking about Herod in a baby farm, as well as various journalists and commentators talking about Nuremberg rallies today on twitter. Scary, scary rhetoric.
Still, is all new members for the SNP at the end of the day, and another nail in the Union's coffin I suppose.

But no, people voting for a the party they want to see represent them in Westminster is entirely reasonable. I can't really see why people are objecting to it ? It's outwith Westminsters control. It's an election. Arithmetic and democracy will decide what happens next, not David Cameron or Rupert Murdoch.

ps Full Fiscal Autonomy is now Full Fiscal Responsibility.. implemented over several years if they can get the powers through. ;)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

It's a roundabout way of saying .. 'oh god we're not doing as well in the polls as we hoped, and need to get those wavering about voting Labour or UKIP to vote Tory instead by making the nasty SNP and their rabid cult of supporters look like they'll stand back laughing manically and allow Russian gunships up the Thames'...

Something like that anyway. Seems to be working on middle England though. Back firing massively in the north.

In other words, now you are quite keen to keep the £7bn a year subsidy from the rUK taxpayers, that you used to claim didn't exist.

If you ignore the media and ask the man on the street, a large chunk of England seems to be quite receptive to the rise of the SNP. It's quite refreshing sometimes to hear they're not all brainwashed by the Daily Mail, the Telegrah and the likes.

They know the 2-party system has been screwing them over and they want other options. The establishment and its cronies are desperate to keep that under wraps, but the cat's out the bag. It's just unfortunate for the English that the best they can muster is a bunch of funny-looking, and acting, Tory rejects.

    The poor sods.

    Lovely jubblee Rodders.

    Trebles all round!

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps in a newly independent Scotland so many Scots would be so depressed at having their views ignored that they would drink themselves stupid; thus providing a significant boost to GDP!

I would stick to the serious stuff, the 'comedy' doesnt come across quite so well.

Exactly! Us lot South of the Border have been screwed over by the 2-party system.

The answer to this? To find a party representing 8.5% of the electorate max to screw us over (and then leave) !

    Fantastic :rotfl:
