How can you port out without using the code?
Sorry just noticed this ....the networks have to work to the ;attest instructions you give ...so if you make it clear you've changed your mind you could give 30 days notice and cancel the PAC
Again, I don't see why you have to cancel the PAC if you decide to give a notice.
Neither of scenarios makes any sense though:
    • getting PAC then giving a notice,
    • giving a notice and cancelling the active PAC (without requesting a new one).

Nope when you use a PAC they require 30 days from when it terminated the account
OK. As you keep repeating this, prove that they do require this. With the T&C or some other document binding for both parties.

You can't I never said you could

If you ask for a PAC it's not giving notice it runs for 30 days ,if you change your mind you have to make it clear you are giving notice

    Nope.
30 days after requesting the PAC.
    Nope :rotfl:
    It's 30 days from termination http://ee.co.uk/help/accounts-billing-and-topping-up/sign-up-and-manage-your-account/my-ee-account-help/get-a-pac-code

If you're a pay monthly customer there's no charge for a PAC code but, if you're still in contract, some charges may be applied. Any disconnection requires 30 days' notice.

OK, where does it say "30 days from when it terminated the account" or "from termination"?

What you quoted was a typical clause for all networks. All treat a PAC request as notice and charge for 30 days from the request. T-mobile is the only network pulling a fast one.

If you want to stick strictly to the T&C, the OP did give a notice. The T&C don't say that requesting a PAC voids the notice.

Well it says disconnection which is the same thing as it terminates at the same time

No, it says from the notice, not from disconnection.

Yes but as we know requesting a PAC isn't giving notice

True as once you are give a PAC then this is only valid for 30 days, if you dont use it your contract continues and you have to request a new PAC

I don't know. I know that it's a form of notice incorporating ability to port the number out.

Regardless, the OP did give a separate notice.

Nope it's a request to port a number, nothing to do with giving notice

Yes but they then went on to request a PAC which stopped the cancellation and kept the contract open until a PAC was used.

How many times can I repeat that the T&C is the only document regulating relations between T-mobile and a customer. And the T&C don't say anything about PAC in general and PAC stopping cancellation in particular.

I: I am calling to give a 30-days' notice of cancellation.
    They: Accepted.
    I: PAC code, please.
They: It will stop the cancellation.
I: I gave you the notice as per the T&C, so you can't charge me for more than 30 days. And you can't refuse giving me PAC. Full stop.
