Hi all, I hope everyone's having a good weekend.

Not much flying to report here, having a brief lull in the round of visitors and catching up with the posts. Bit of a late one last night and an early start this morning so I managed to get a few more hours kip before visitors round 2 started and got the dailies done.
My brother has gone out for the evening and I offered to collect him and his mates from Newcastle later to save them the long taxi fare so I might be up quite late again tonight. He came up on his own this time and it was nice to get a different sort of chat from him. We sat and did a 100 question 80's lyrics quiz on line together and relived our youths and had a laugh.
Tomorrow might be a bit more productive once he's gone but it's been lovely having some company. Saying that its lovely when they all go home too!

I hope the Casualty addicts are getting their last in series fix! I'm just going to have a mini tidy up and then give Empathy on BBC1 a go.

    TTFN Solway x

Ed to say Pigpen, looking forward to seeing more pics of the middle room. Well done you!

Isn't it lovely to hear so many saying that their homes are looking better with Flylady? I've been flitting about since January, and it is slowly working for me too, although I do take days off here and there!

I have to say that the good start was down to being too frightened of admitting to Moggins that I hadn't done the list...;) Does anyone know if she is okay? I haven't read anything for ages.

I also find the support of everyone else a great help, as I'm not very good at this housework lark. My mother has never been terribly interested in housework, and so I am largely self taught!

No Flying today, but I did two hours early on the allotment, than the rest of the day was celebrating DS1's 17th birthday. Lunch was very nice, but not as good as the meal we had last year in Normandy!

More gardening tomorrow, then OH is going to help me put back the shelves on the landing, and I shall severely prune my book collection before it goes back. I'm hoping to free up enough space to move all OH's books off the desk in the bedroom - so I can get rid of the desk, and the exercise bike (untouched for years...) I have A PLAN for the bedroom, and I'm working stealthily at achieving it!

    Have a happy Sunday everyone!!

    Evening all,

michelle - you are so right, I am nesting like mad and its driving me nuts!

Had an odd sort of day today. Had a bit of a lie in, hubs got kids up etc. When I surfaced we went into town as he had to return his new mobile phone which is on the blink already, and I had a mystery shop to do. We spent 6 hurs in there, it was like 6 hours in the flipping Sahara, it was unbearably hot and I got so grumpy towards the end. I feel like we got loads done though but none of it was on my list!!

    Got:
    - a Disney Priness nightlight for DD room
    - a Spiderman nightlight for DS room so the baby can have his Winnie the Pooh one
    - a new school year calendar for kitchen
    - a book to write up baby's things in (have them for kids already)
    - new changing mats for baby - old ones have fallen apart
    - exciting things like breast pads and maternity pads (nice)
    - a new bottle brush

Also bought a new breast pump - I lent mine to a friend and she lost it  Actually she claims she never had it, my husband took it to the pub one night to give her husband and she thinks he left it in the pub :rotfl:
This was now 2 years ago and I am very annoyed because at no point have they apologised or offered to replace it. I asked hubby to ask her hubby to get a new one or give us the money and my hubby has all but refused to do this, he doesnt want to confront a mate. So today I just thought "RIGHT!!!!! I am buying the damn thing and telling them they owe me £22".

Anyway that was the lot in town, we managed a picnic in the park whilst there so at least the kids got to run about a bit.

When we got back i was wrecked though, and went for a lie down, hubs gave kids tea etc and got them to bed.

And on a TMI note, ahem at some point after that hubs and I were shall we say *in the bedroom* when DS (4) walked in on us   ....we so need a lock for our door. Poor hubs was mortified :rotfl:

DH has bought a car and he is picking it up next Saturday. So this afternoon I coerced him into tidying up the garage. I was sure there was stuff in there that could be chucked away. Our garage isn't particularly big and it's a struggle to get a car in there, you really don't have room for rubbish as well.

So now we've got a big pile in the middle that DD is taking to the tip for us on her next day off. It really is just rubbish, empty cans and bottles, carrier bags, broken things. He hates to throw anything away!

I've swept most of it out but will have to do the middle bit when the rubbish is gone.

Took us about 3 hours but feels good.

:( Ours had no tents either, I decided to brave it and take the boys, got most of the uniform bits and pieces they needed aswell, I left it late last year and got stuck! All PE kits sorted (inc bags I got them few weeks ago) DS1 trousers sorted and polo tops (have bought some plain as his uniform wasn't in stock at end of term), swimming stuff sorted (needs seperate as they leave them in school and school wash them :D same goes for PE, bonus!) Need very littel now. Got DS2 a new keyboard for his PC as the one on his is wireless and eating batteries for breakfast keeps playing up so that is now 'a spare'. Got them 2 fold up chairs, me and DP have them for days out in the park etc and they used the rug, but kids keep pinching them and Tesco had them for £3 light enough for them to carry themselves of course. Back in time to make myself some tea and sit to watch Casualty, tear in my eye there, I hate them for ending the series like that!!!

Pollybear pleased to hear that he's found a car :D well done with the garage :D

Serena from what I know Moggins is fine, Kaz popped on a while ago and I asked her as I know they were in touch regular. I'm sure she'll be back when she is ready.

Pigpen, I hate socks sorting so big well done from me. I usually end up doing it for that length of time just because I leave them and leave them. Oh and I keep a bag of singletons, if no 'match' arrives within a week or so I bin them :o well ok I use any DP hasn't worn for dusters first.

JillD :rotfl: I can see your DP in the DIY shop tomorrow getting a lock for the bedroom. Make sure it's not too fiddly of course in case of a fire etc and high enough so your kids can't lock themselves in your room. A friend put a normal handle height one on her bedroom, her son locked himself in and by the time she got through it by sheer force he'd cut his hair off and nails off, so much his nails were bleeding :(

DP's week going from bad to worse at work, Thursday night was very quiet, last night the same & had runners, tonight people refusing to pay the full fare saying should be cheaper (always the ones with the posh houses that do this) I think he'll be please when this weekend is over. Until then he'll just moan at me.
One day I might be more organised...........

:j 1700th gobby woman ya, (is there any way I can hide mine :o ) :rotfl:
Have a good night Pigpen, don't know how you have the energy, I seriously can't be bothered these days. I have no patience with drunk people either which doesn't help, especially drunk men, as proved last time I went out and one slapped my !!!!, he ended up wearing his drink :o :rotfl: :D

Oh forgot to add, kitchens a tip, living rooms not too bad, bathrooms ok, bedrooms a mess and I don't care :D I'm doing naff all else tonight and will fight for somewhere on the bench to make DP and DSs butties for fishing tomorrow morning then deal with it. I did get all my list done and more, just the paperwork to muddle through more of, but all went TUAT! (Tits Up After Teatime, yes you can pronounce the U as a W :D ) Early night for me, before 11pm but after sorted dogs out. Will be taking paperwork to bed, oh joys exciting aren't I, going to go through statements etc laid on the bed with the window wide open as it's too bloody hot. Anything else can be done tomorrow. Sod it, sod it all :D

lil_me - LOL yes he finally realises I am right (how can he not know this anyway  ) and that we need a lock on the door. He all for taking the door handle off the en suite and swopping it for the bedroom one but that is a disaster waiting to happen. A high up little bolt will do nicely, so he is off down B&Q tomorrow aftyernoon while I take DS to a party. I've told him no more nookie til the door has a lock. Surprised he didn't go shopping tonight LOL

:rotfl: but they close earlier on Saturdays don't they :rotfl: saying that some late opening supermarkets may have them. I know of people who have stairgates on the kids rooms who say it's for the childs safety but we know the real reason :rotfl: en suite, you lucky devil! Would love one but would ban my partner from it, one more bit of his fluff in mine and I'll kill him I swear :o :rotfl:With the knowing you're right, they do know, just takes them a little while to admit it. Sure the ban will help work in getting him to sort it, maybe use it for other things you need doing aswell :D works a treat that one, saying that they do get insecure with comments like 'You only did that so I'd do your shelves' :o:D
