My house looks a bit messy. Earlier I tidied the undersink cupboard, I store lots of cleaned jars and bottles in there. It made me consider that I should think about filling them with something these holidays! I also have lots of Ecover bottles, which I saved when I was planning to make some of my soap up into washing up liquid. Well I will, I just need to choose a good oil that has good cleansing properties. Not my best EV Olive Oil soap!
I plan to sweep the kitchen and hall floors too, but I have to wash my hair and buy a birthday present before we go out at 6 to my brother's birthday barbeque.

Hello everyone.
Been away from the computer for 3 days and just caught up on all the thread.
Wow, you lot have been so busy!
We had a fab family day in Bournemouth, the sun shone and the look on DS's face as he ran into the sea and jumped over the waves was priceless, he didn't want to leave.
Past 2 days we've been in London visiting family.
So today I've put one laod in WM and DH has hung it on the line.
Went to a summer fete with my mum and did a mini shop afterwards.
And that's it!
The upstairs is fairly ok, but downstairs is a big mess!
Don't feel like starting much now, will try to find my motivation tomorrow and then start again afresh on Monday.
Hugs to all those with children and DH's who are driving them round the bend....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

We can't use the coupons at ours dusty but how much are the tents ? We were thinking about getting one
Tinsel sounds like you've had a great time, new week starts on Monday so wouldn't worry about it
Also Dusty I have a fridge magnet somewhere with the same saying on it :rotfl: I've come to terms with it now, no chance my house will ever be tidy but as long as it's clean I don't care. Oh aren't adverts fab aswell, my sons come out with stuff off adverts all the time. One day I might be more organised...........

You know my sanity that was in question the other day?? Well.. I just spent 4 HOURS pairing up socks!!!!!!!! I have got my 2 binbags, 1 stacking box, one ironing basket and the heap on the floor down to.. 47!!! I've filled 3 carrier bags with odd socks to be recycled and a binbag with pairs of socks for charity shop (they do sell fabric for rags so if they don't want to sell them they will still get something for them) and I have another 2 binbags for charity shop too.. all from the middle room!! Hubby has 2 new shirts.. and I have a heap of 'new' stuff to ebay.. just need to get it all pic'd and listed now.. *sigh*
Other than that I've done very little..
The middle room really is improving.. we have one corner almost empty. I need to shift the dishwasher so I can get to the toys and sort through them next.. that is on tomorrows list.
We took the bags of clothes and junk outside and sorted it all in the garden in the sun... so hubby looks like a lobster.. and I smell like one lol REALLY satisfying though to see floor emerging where there was once junk and mess.
If anyone uses cloth nappies here and would like some well used XL/toddler size wraps free for postage PM me!
Todays dailies..

todays hotspot.. middle room.. it's taking a while but we are getting there.. it is my summer holiday project though so I have 4 weeks & 2 days left to get it emptied and decorated...

I did find some motivation in the end and cleaned the bathroom and have washed the bath mat and shower curtain.
Had a tidy up in utility, kitchen and dining room and all things for upstairs are sat on the stairs so each time someone goes up they have to take something with them and put it in the right place, well that's the theory!
Haven't bothered with lounge, that's where my motivation was lost.
Tuna and sweetcorn burgers made and in the oven and DH has just dug up some of our potatoes from the pots they grew in so tea under way.
Have a lovely Saturday evening everyone....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

To second lil_me - I think the reason this thread helps me so much is it puts a bit of fun into what is normally a thankless task. I feel like i've acheived something when I do the lists on here whereas it used to feel endless.
Today i've done two loads of washing and worked all day. Enjoy your weekend xxJanuary budget

you just successfully put me off having too many more children. I would love loads, but that is one of the worst jobs ever, and to spend 4 hours
You deserve a medal - in fact, from now, i may just call you Saint PigpenGood work there in the spare room. The '2 man' idea didn't work then?

They were out of tents, but did take a DM against 2 pizzas so not too bad. They were £9 something for the 4 man pull up in the leaf pattern. Sainsbury had tents as well so may see about going to the superstore to see if they have reduced ones.
Done my s&s and one load of washing, had a bit of a tidy round and a bit of pruning but that is it. Think I will turf DS1 out of living room and off playstation and do my ironing so I feel I have done something. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I gave up on the idea of 2 men.. how much would get done??? Nothing.. so I did it myself and brow-beat others into doing some too... I'm probably the most hated person alive right now lol
And that was 4 hours with 2 of us pairing socks!!!!!! I have 2 baskets of paired up socks though and no odd ones (apart from the 47 I've kept as spares as they match some of our paired up ones.)
In the middle room I have found... *drumroll*.. A RUG!!!!!! it is on the floor.. I have one of those too!!!.. AND I even vacuumed the bit I could see... I'd do you a pic but I'm not sure where the camera is right now.. maybe have to wait until tomorrow and I'll hopefully have done some more..:D:D
