    Hello all! :santa2:

Been a long time again, but I haven't really felt the need to Kondo anything other than a few no longer joyful (or too big :j) clothes. But did take a couple of bags down to the donation bins this morning. My local leisure centre has BHF bins that accept bric a brac, very handy. So down went some old CDs that none of the buying sites wanted, and some useless xmas presents. We always say no presents, or at least edibles for the few that insist, but there's always at least one person who ignores that.

Have also Kondoed another piece of storage furniture, as we didn't have anything left to store in it.

I've just made wax tarts using the last 1cm of wax in a christmas yankee candle we were gifted about 3 years ago. Using an idea I pinched from here, I've put the wax into the leftover metal casings of spent tea lights. I've got another candle to do, but I'll do that tomorrow for fear of the smell overpowering the house! The empty jars can then be recycled. They can go away until next year, and I'll keep an eye out for christmas scented candles in the sales next year to take their place. Whilst YC aren't cheap, they burn well, and we got 2 Christmases out of each candle which I think is fair return on our investment.

We had lots of consumables as presents (smellies, biscuits etc), so where possible I've stripped things of excessive packaging in anticipation of our next recycling collection. We were also gifted some money which I think we will save towards buying garden furniture next year.

I've bought my cards in the sales for next year. I resisted the reduced gift wrap as I already have more than enough in my stash. Hopefully the decorations will be easier to put away as I purged whilst decorating.

Belated happy Christmas etc to everyone!

I need to rant somewhere before I go crazy. My DH and I set a specific budgetary thing where we tried not to get more than 6 presents each. Which is fine and dandy, because its a lot less than it has been previous years, and its largely stuff we need, like waterproof shoes, or headphones, or booze... Haha! But the point is, I spoke to my FIL at great length about how I've been clearing out the house for the past few months, and how he was absolutely not to go overboard because we didn't have the room for lots of stuff, only for a few bits, and anyway, we couldn't afford a load of things and didn't want it to look like we didn't love her as much or whatever.
He made all the right noises and I thought he had taken it on board, and then he came over on Christmas day with 3 bin bags full of presents just for the baby, and a little tikes car. She loves the car, and I'm really happy for her, but she just did not need that many other presents. I can't move in her nursery for gifts, some of which are really age inappropriate and others of which she doesn't want and it is really stressing me out.

    :(

Milocat - just pack all the ones away that are not suitable for her age for when she is older. Stuff that she doesn't want just recycle or regift during the year. Cull the ones she does like if there are too many at the moment and dole them out to her during the year - and breathe!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

another Norfolk Kondoite how exciting :D It is a great idea and great fun and I just found out has been going for 28 years  Which I was pretty shocked at but it has become a lot bigger over the last 10 or so years.

Just had a phone call from my Bro as my Dad is due back tommorow from his holiday away with him and his family.

    Me- How was he ?
Bro- You are having him next year :rotfl:Be sure of that very sure :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Me- I take it it went well then ;)
