  • So sorry Jo4

Its awful to let them go but its the right decision
    Hugs x
  • So sorry to hear your news Jo4 - it's hard but you can take comfort in knowing you've done the best for her.

MMF007, I keep paint trays, brushes, rollers etc in a plastic storage box in the garage, so I don't see why you couldn't do the same in the loft. You don't usually need these things in a hurry (unlike, say a screwdriver) so they can go out of the way. When I do want to do some decorating I bring the crate in and everything I need is in there, pretty much. Kondoing that crate was a real winner for me, and I've been able to do several small fix-up jobs really quickly and easily.

    Mins Game Day 19 - 12 items

    1. Felt pen that once had a fine nib, now has a very wide one with hardly any ink left..... binned
2-11. Ten bags of coins deposited in bank
    12. Useless pair of tweezers

I'm glad I started Mins Game back to front, i.e. getting rid of 30 things on Day 1. It has been a struggle some days, but getting easier now. Going to tackle clothes this weekend so I'm sure I won't have any problem reaching the required number for each day! Also got daughter and 2 granddaughters staying overnight Saturday, so the house will need a good tidy up by Sunday!
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Jo4 - so sorry for your loss, I remember so well how much it hurts, but in a little while I hope that you can take comfort from the knowledge that you gave her the most suitable treatment for her condition and that you spared her much pain.

  • Jo4 , so sorry for you, sounds like you made the right decision *hugs*

I'm still thinning out little bits but haven't done a category wide clear for a while, except for nail polish which wasn't that many anyway. Hasn't been a great week emotionally, though physically I have been ok. I've been converting the back of a clip frame into a gaming board to increase the coffee table surface as needed. Stenciled some butterflies on it today and the room being so clear made it easy to see what colours I needed. Living room is cream walls and brown carpet (rented) with purple and green, but I needed a third colour to lift it a bit more. Was very easy to glance round and see that there are tiny touches of red in a picture and a lace sampler I made. Not the neatest stenciling ever, but I'm just happy it only took about 20 mins from deciding to do it, grabbing the things needed from the cupboard and putting it all away again. I think that is a record for me! Varnishing tomorrow.

  • I'm starting to dread Christmas presents - I always feel guilty when I don't like them (and usually I don't, and ask people to not buy anything). I feel a bit better about passing them on quickly now. Just wish I didn't have to

    Good morning

Jo so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Holly.
She was obviously loved by her family and well cared for.
It's horrible they don't last longer than they do.
You made the right decision. It's our final kind act for them.
    RIP Holly.

One of my sons the Messie one has given me permission to
    Clear out his 'man' drawer.
His bedside table drawer. Is constantly having to be culled
It gets clear then before long it's back to being stuffed again with carp
I wouldn't ever rifle through his personal stuff but it gets jammed eventually. I could just leave it in the hope he will as it doesn't bother him really but ain't gonna do it that's just him. So providing he knows I'm going in there he doesn't mind me clearing it. He's fine around the rest of the house (Barr leaving damp towels in the bathroom) grrr It's just that drawer and my new found obsession with order.

Jo4 So sorry to hear that about poor Holly :( You know you made the right decsion for her but my god it hurts. As Mum told me 'The only thing that helps is time' So one day at a time is all you can do.

No rodents spotted :D Which is good news.

  • Morning all. Mavvy you can't have any more clothes to throw out, surely!

I'm assuming you mean interior decorating, not Christmas lights? I'm almost looking forward to doing that now - knowing that clearing a room out will be so much easier, I won't be distracted by discovering things I'd lost or sorting stuff out, and as Dragonette says it's somehow easier to see what the room needs. I'll probably feel differently that when I'm up to my arms in emulsion!

It's a change for me though - I've never really bothered about colours etc but it's as if I can see the rooms now without the 'noise'.
