Evening fellow kondoites Glad there have been a lot of woo moments :DMy woo moment came today as I am sure Mr Ratty has gone :TNo sign so think he got out of a tiny gap even after eating loads of apples ;)

But the not so nice moment was last night when ....................wait for it as its another rodent moment ..............THERE WAS A MOUSE IN MY TOASTER :rotfl::rotfl:even I have to laugh now but it wasnt funny at the time :( Needless to say toaster has been kondoed :o and a nice clear space on the worktop is left and the toaster wont be replaced. I lost my cat last year sadly she was 22 years old and a excellent mouse and ratter I think I will have to replace her with another 2 feral cats. We are in the middle of fields so not a lot we can do really.Wont use poison as its killing the Owls and Hawks when they catch the poisoned vermin.

Anyway no sight of any Ratties or its smaller cousin today ! :o

:D The joke's on me as I have posted, and we've had many a giggle, about a towel I own with the name GARY woven down the stripe in the middle.

Got it from Mum, who can't recall where she got it, expect we do not and never have had a Gary in our family..........

It's a royal blue bath towel, with a white stripe and the GARY is woven into the stripe in blue letters. Mum probably got it from a charity shop or bootsale. Hope it wasn't snaffled from you? :rotfl:

Hi Mrklunk, The minimalist site seem to be men so can't claim all rights to kondo :rotfl:

Today I was hoping to add the new handles to my wardrobes and cod, I don't normally use power tools but as it was only drilling the holes larger thought I'd get away with it. Cue one broken drill bit! What I've done so far though is looking good. As I was now stuck till get new bit, I decided to clean all the drawers and blinds, just about to finish when I saw the light fitting could do with a clean ,caught the hot bulb with damp cloth and pow! Shattered bulb all over bed and floor  so had to change the bed and hoover! Which I'd only done yesterday.

Not exactly what I had in mind for today, but I have a very tidy bedroom :T

Yes thanks GQ, a quick mop with the edge of my jumper, and a proper wipe on a clean tea towel from the airer and it's fine (and nice & clean!) Bit of a waste of my thirsty Thursday vino though!!

Oh Wort, I was looking at new handles for COD yesterday!. COD is perfectly OK but I think it would be joyful with some pretty handles. Didn't find any that sparked joy so will bide my time.

We haven't got millions of photos because we have always weeded as we put them in albums but I am guessing we could reduce them. Not a priority but will get to them eventually and don't forsee any diffficulties tackling them. Same as paperwork, I found that easy :)

One of my big bugbears is having a fair amount of decorating and DIY stuff stashed in a couple of cupboards (and to be honest, spilling out of them into a corner of tiny back bedroom that also doubles as office, ironing room, craft room etc etc :rotfl:). We have so little space in our house and no outside storage. Am wondering whether we could put some of it in the loft.... not screwdrivers or other stuff you need to hand more often but paint brushes. paint, wall papering equipment?? Hmmmm. Will plant seed in DH mind for actioning in a week or two (tactics, it's all about tactics, getting your own way :D).

:grouphug: to all those who need them.

I haven't caught up with this thread in a while but I hope to this weekend when things will hopefully start to settle down.

You may remember I posted a few weeks ago that our dog wasn't well so I thought I should give an update?!?! Our dog, Holly, passed this afternoon at 15:40.:cry::cry::cry:

She was 14 years and 4 weeks old today. Four weeks ago, on her 14th birthday, she didn't seem herself and she was diagnosed with a heart condition although without the x-rays it couldn't be confirmed. We were advised that she would have to make an almost 200 miles round trip for the x-ray and the vets weren't sure if she would make the journey. On the advice of the vets we put her on tablets for the condition and we kept her on them until last Thursday because the vet said to try her without them for a week. On Tuesday evening she vomited, she didn't eat her food on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning so we took her to the vets on Wednesday and they advised us to take her to their other practice which we did. She walked into the second practice but while there she had to be carried to the consultation room and seemed to be in discomfort while being carried. Her tummy seemed to be tender. The vet gave her the heart tablet and put her on a drip, she also tried to give her some water and food but Holly wasn't interested. When we were allowed in to see her she stood up briefly before falling to the floor because she was too weak. The vet said she would keep her overnight on the drip and phone us in the morning which she did. This morning the vet said Holly was the same as yesterday she seemed to get a little bit of energy but then deteriorate again but she wanted us to come down to see what we thought of her and how we wanted to proceed.

We asked for her tummy to be x-rayed and they discovered that her windpipe wasn't where it should be although they couldn't see why. They also discovered an abnormality in her abdomen and they advised us that it wasn't good and that at most she had a couple of days of living the same way - unable to eat, drink or walk. With extremely heavy hearts we made the decision to put her to sleep because she was unable to eat or drink for 48 hours, she wasn't going to get any better according to the vets, she was unable to walk, Holly got hubby to hold her head up for her every matter of minutes and she was in pain and discomfort. She wasn't happy or comfortable, she had no quality of life.

We have asked for her to be cremated and we will get her ashes in the next 2 or 3 weeks apparently. I cannot believe she deteriorated so quickly.:cry::cry::cry:

Needless to say I have fell off the Kondo wagon - have Ebayed a lot and still tidied but not as much as I should due to time constraints.

Forgot to tell of kondo-ing today: unsubscribed from lots of marketing emails. They just clutter my in box, I bin them without reading! Have had to write snail mail to one firm because I have clicked unsubscribe so many times but still get weekly email from them  Will report them to Information Comissioner if they keep it up!

Music CDs being sorted and into a cd wallet tomorrow. Still waiting for DH to lose anxiety about doing the dvds the same ;) CDs are mostly mine so I can just get on with it!
