I've never bothered posting my mins lists as TBH I don't think anyone would be that interested in my old junk. But seeing loopychriss' offered a burst of inspiration.
Ages ago when I was contemplating decorating ideas for the living room I stashed some wallpaper samples down the back of the sofa. I'm still deliberating decorating ideas (that's a whole other story) but I have long since decided paint is the way forward. WHY was the paper still languishing out of sight behind the sofa?! It is now in the recycling bin.

Morning all
Hope everyone is well or at least as well as can be
Love the traditional Christmas GQ
Found talk of after death wishes very interesting, my Dh and his mil are totally opposite it's not going to happen if you don't talk about it so ostrich effect sets in. It's almost fingers in ears and la la I'm not listening if I try and broach anything with mil, who lets face it is 88 and has cancer. If a dr mentions something she doesn't like or tries to steer the convo towards mortality she helpfully points out she's had sisters who've lived to 92 & 97 so has very good genes.
When fil died a few years ago mils response was being the baby of the family (yes she was the youngest of her 12 siblings) Shed never had to organise a funeral so didnt know what to do thus I muddled though it all doing what I thought fil wanted, he at least was more practIcal and the day he got his diagnosis told me he assumed he'd get creamAted wanted no fuss or religion and which songs he wanted playing. It was harder having the convo when I knew it was imminent.
Dh needed somewhere to grieve ashes so have a grave at local cemetery which five years later mil avoids almost so she can pretend it's not happened but when she does go breaks down and gets upset because she's still in denial over what's happened and hasn't grieved properly as her and Dh rarely talk about fil. I prattle on about him with the kids often and feel he's still with us in a way, we miss him desperately but can talk about him and smile over past times or funny stories that involved him.
Death shouldn't be taboo it happens to us all.
On happier note
Got a call last night, I'm needed all day today so going to be busy.

Hugs to,all, have a joyful day. XSPC~12 ot 124

Well, all the talk of Christmas has made me resolved that I'm going to finish this process before then! I'm so close to the end, just a few boxes to go through and those darn photos to organise. I'm really tempted to put them away and say 'done!' with my fingers crossed behind my back, but I'd only be cheating myself.
I still have a couple of 'hotspots' where komono has collected and not been dealt with. I've got a blood test today which usually means an hour's wait so I'm going to reread The Book on my kindle and try to refocus.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Morning all - I am very  today.
My HOTPOINT washing machine has Kondoed its bearings - usually a fairly simple, cheap replacement job but - but, no. You can't just replace the bearings on this machine, you have to have a new drum etc too. Total cost of £150 plus fitting  I can buy a new machine cheaper - the shear waste of it has got my blood boiling.....
Hotpoint's response "I understand the frustration this would cause"
And I now won't have a working machine for several days and the laundry is piling up.....
Anyhow, I can sit here and fume or i can get on with kondoing the office. if the PhD thing comes off then i will have to clear my office at work  so A LOT of stuff will come here - largely books and files, but I need to find space.....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Oh VJ that's carp. I do wonder if companies are doing things like this now to force us to buy new things rather than repairing older models.
I have finished Kondoing my kitchen. I have a pile of things at the door to go to cs which will be gone today and I'm doing a recycling run with a huge amount of cardboard so that will clear some more space.
I'm also going to finish the last of the burning of paperwork today and that just leaves me Harry Potter cupboard and photos woohookonMarie and fabbing all the way

Doing photos - don't they take a long time...... ?
But I have condensed 3 albums into 1 :TI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Kondoing is taking a back seat at the moment as work and life are busy. Also I've run out of steam as I face the paper mountain and know it's going to be a pain. At least I'm doing well at slowing the rate of increase as I'm dealing with junk ruthlessly as it comes in. Unfortunately have loads of new admin paperwork tasks to do which are being avoided as they mean taking decisions or actions.
Christmas can be all consuming as I not only buy presents for family and a few friends but am also roped into helping other choose presents for the family. I've told everyone this year that there is no need to buy me anything but if they much something consumable like toiletries or booze would be welcome.
Interestingly dc didn't have many requests for Christmas until we went to the shopping centre last weekend. We had to walk through the toy department on the way to get equipment for a sport they do and suddenly they had a whole new bunch of wants that feel like needs to them.0 -
Adding to the Xmas discussions, we put our (7) trees up the weekend after eldest's birthday, which is the 11th - although this year that probably means putting them up on Sunday 13th - the following weekend is too close to Xmas. The whole day is devoted to the two main trees and it is done with Xmas songs blasting out
7 trees?!:eek::p0 -
So job has been kondoed  notice handed in for departure late January......
Would i have done it without Marie? Who knows? things were pretty carppy there anyway. But certainly Marie, Minimalists, you lot and the whole movement has given me the shove I might have been too afraid to give myself.
And my OH, who is a brick and always supported me in these decisions.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
