:bdaycake: Happy birthday for tomorrow, dragonette. Hope you feel a bit better than you do today.

Feeling pretty rough atm, came in from work and went to bed for a while, so tired. Could have just stayed there but thought getting up and having a proper meal involving vegetables would be more helpful. And I think I shall go back on the iron tablets.

I get my endocrine system tested sideways to sunday and it's never turned up any thryoid probs, but will be up at the hospital next week for my annual MOT so will ask the consultant about this T3 and T4 thingummyjig.

:j Have had my flex leave request approved so have pencilled in the loft-bothering dates. The great thing about indoor decluttering is that it isn't weather-dependant, unlike gardening. I like to imagine the loft contents as creatures who have slumbered or carvorted in the shadows for so long that they have forgotten that they are Just Things.

 And now, a sense of inexplicable dread steals across their drowsing minds, the nightmare which is the Incoming Adult Daughter. Armed with the weapons of Stubbornness and Bl00dymindedness (and the loft hatch hooked pole to reach far-flung objects) I shall enter the fray.

I shall hunt them by the hatch, I shall hunt them under the eaves. I shall hunt them on the far ends and there will be neither quarter asked nor quarter given.

:D Unlike the sainted Marie, I shall not wear white whilst I work. It will be a dirty mucky job, but someone's got to do it. If you want to imagine it, I'll be in trousers and a burglar hat, knees scrunched up under my chin, peering at Stuff while making frequent remarks of the nature of OMG! I don't believe it!! Dad, Dad, you gotta come and see this!

    :o
As you may have gathered, I am enthused at the prospect.:o

KM makes such a difference to life. I got up this morning and the stuff for breakfast was ready. The workbag was in its place, where it gets parked. I was able to move smoothly around my morning routine. I left the flat with a handful of recycling to sling in the communal bins on the way out. Something goes out this way every morning, there are no bags of recycling building up. It's washed up, dried and outta here.

It's all so restful. I came home to a single piece of mail. Opened and filed it with like letters, envelope for recycling. The washing-up was done and the sink cleaned before work so, although I'm weary, I'm not weary in a muddle and too exhausted to deal with getting the kitchen back to the point where I can cook in it.

This is slightly OT but I know we have a lot of Boho Konverts and this coatigan caught my eye in Sainsbobs today. Looks better in person and was SO soft. Seriously tempting me...

All right, will whoever swopped my hoarder Mum for someone less attached to Stuff step forward and take a bow. Things have been happening at their house and I can hardly believe my ears.

They are hunting the bits and accessories of the Knitmaster all over the house. This is because it is being given away to my pal and its coming up to the city with them on Friday. Thus far, the main machine, the ribber bed and some of the accessories are found. The table and other of the accessories are still MIA.

Today, abandoning the search in the loft, they have ventured into the Cupboard of Doom. Several kilogrammes of back issues of Knitting Machine News have hit the recycling stream. Several items of clothing have been found, having been forgotten. Some are good, some have died in storage. Bags of bags are being donated. Some of these items have already left the house and gone to the chazzer.

There was the vexacious issue of the whereabouts of the punchcards for the machine. Mum is running out of places to look, we were chatting and suddenly I remembered a piece of furniture which disappeared behind piles of boxes (ceiling high piles) some years ago. We're both convinced that the items still missing are in there.

Tomorrow's mission will be to get the kid brother to de-box the furniture so it can be searched. It's a pretty pass when you have such a lot of clutter that you can lose proper furniture in it.:o:p

Mum is normally highly-resistant to decluttering but suddenly seems to have found the mojo. I cannot begin to convey how woo this is, I am so exicited for her.

I have also told them I am coming for the loft. And I told Dad I wouldn't be putting my feet between the joists either, whereupon he quipped that they were too big to fit, safe in the knowledge that he is out of reach for the mimed clout upside the ear which would be my in-person response to that.:rotfl:

OMG, my parents are decluttering, I never thought I'd live to see this day.................!

:o Thank you. This is truly an epic moment, I'm very pinch-me-I'm-dreaming about it all. Can't wait to get over there and help the progress.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I am decluttering some food from the cupboards into me, rather than shopping for more, which is doing both the budget and the cupboards good.

I have a kitchen wall unit with a bit of empty space in it. I keep going to peep at it, just to make sure it wasn't figment of my imagination.

'Feel-better' wishes to all who need them.

GQ can you work your magic on my mum, please?? :rotfl:

Had a realisation today when my friend gave me a belated birthday present.... i was dreading it! All i could think was 'oh no, something else to find a home for'. I admit that my b/day cards drove me mad, messing up the window sill, and although tradition has it that they stay up for a week, they only lasted 3 days! Luckily for me my friend is very thoughful and gave me vouchers i can happily use when the time is right :)

the room of doom is probably 50% done so I am encouraged to keep ploughing on :D i actually think that there will have to be a second pass once I can see the wood for the trees ;) TBH I am happy with that but I suspect MK would disapprove!!

Keep up the good work, one [STRIKE]step[/STRIKE] fold and file at a time!

I am up to page 100 on here so far and still going strong with my clearing out. I had another full car load to the skip today, I've done my books and they are piled at the top of the stairs until I decide what to do with them. Once I had emptied the bookcase in the living room I had a bit of a shifting of stuff about so bookcase is now in my bedroom(since I now have space for it) and the table that was in the hall is now in the living room so the hall should be easier and faster to clean. I have boxed all the komono? in the bedroom and am going to go through it tomorrow along with sorting out all the bedding. I can't remember who it was who originally posted about folding bedding and putting it inside the pillowcases but thanks so much that's a brilliant idea and also the folding of fitted sheets youtube thingy thank you cos those things are the bane of the bedding cupboard, throwing themselves all over the place and just getting in the way when I need something. Love this thread.

Just a little question has reading the book and actually doing this stopped any of you from buying things. I have to go food shopping tomorrow and I really don't want too, I like the spaces in the fridge and cupboard haha but the kids are complaining so I guess I'm going

Today I had my CT colonoscopy virtual and I am hoping my GP will have my results on Friday although it will be a few weeks before I am recalled to the hospital to hear the results and see what they are for doing next - hopefully nothing wrong so nothing to do.

On our way home after my procedure hubby went to the charity shop and it was open so we got rid of 3 bin bags - 3rd time we have tried to leave in these bags. Today I haven't done much as I haven't been feeling the best - I always have to get oxygen when I get these procedures but the person carrying out the procedure thought I was a "bad diabetic" since I was on an insulin pump so she thought it was my blood sugar which wasn't right when I went to pass out so they got hubby out of the waiting room and I was back to myself within 20 minutes although I did scare them all - you would think they should be used to that in a hospital.

Hopefully I will get back to reading the book and getting more Kondoed. Oh I did sell a few things on Ebay which hubby posted yesterday so less joyous items out and cash in - cash takes much less room to keep. :rotfl: :money:
