As I leave house my desk top is empty apart from printer and pens and I have 3 feet of empty shelving.

    Re the credit card
Could you have a triage basket or box that's visible by the letterbox?
I started doing this and each evening this has to be emptied. Either filed or left in to be dealt with that week. I used to keep a plaky bag aside my shredder underneath my table of shame. It never got seen to and ended up jammed with post.
I mentioned once a family I know who shoved everything in placky bags behind the sofa. Passports birth, cerificates, bills daily post etc you name it.
When anything had to be found the contents of the bags where tipped into the middle of the floor and the whole family would go on a treasure hunt to find the document needed.
This is the system I use now and it has changed my life. Each person has their own binder and you can even have one of or pets. The quid shop has some lovely binders

This is slightly OT but I know we have a lot of Boho Konverts and this coatigan caught my eye in Sainsbobs today. Looks better in person and was SO soft. Seriously tempting me...

Dragonette Big hug, and very best wishes for your birthday! I hope you manage to get enough rest and can enjoy it. Thank you for your suggestion about online CC - I don't do online finances as I'm not totally convinced about security.

Jinny Hoping you soon get over the grottiness. I had thought I had a thyroid problem, but like you the measures came back as normal :(. The dogs would love a triage box by the front door - I only have a narrow passage way, and they love to steal paper and rip it (would save paying the bills, though :rotfl:)

(Reading this over it looked as though I'm being a bit negative: I don't mean to be, but my brain isn't working properly and getting out of my rut takes a lot of effort which I'm not up to.

Thanks to everyone for your helpful suggestions, they will sit in my mind and I'm sure they'll eventually surface when I'm up to doing something new.)

What's really annoying is that I used to be really organised. As soon as a bill came in, it would be checked and any queries dealt with. I would write the cheque, put it in an envelope and in a "brought forward" file to be posted at an appropriate time. This all fell apart when my Mum died in 2004. All her stuff was dumped in my house (a long story why, which I won't go into), but I still managed to keep on top of things. Then mid 2012 I hit buffers, lost all energy, even gave up on my beloved garden - I remember I was standing on the patio and thought "I'm not interested any more." I haven't taken even a cup of coffee out there since. It's only the dogs that go to the far end now.

For months I just sat, not reading, too tired to watch tv. The only thing I could do was look after the dogs, and that not very well :(.
Since starting the MK journey, I've been able to do more with them, and this last few weeks I've remembered the good walks and even found the energy to take them there (then collapse with
exhaustion, but at least they are content). For that alone MK has been marvellous.

Hi could you hang a bag up on a hook so the dogs can't get to the post. Or are they like my neighbours dog he has a neck like a crane!
You could bring the post into the kitchen unchewed and have your triage there.
I do have a very low thyroid it's just the meds I take for it 150mg thyroxine registers my t3 levels ok
There is a t4 count that some Gps don't count but it's just as important. As we know blood tests aren t always accurate
Good luck with your km journey:)

I have been to kondo my hair today in town and picked up 2 cushions that bring me joy! I Have thrown away 2 cushions and 3 inners though to restore the balance.
Lovely day again so more washing done,as forcast isn't to great! Tomorrow man is coming g to replace 4 panes of d glazing that keep clouding up. I will have to think what I can clear whilst he's here:T
Blue doggy- do you know you can always pay the bill over the phone if you can't find the bill, they would tell you the balance,I try to go online when I get my bill and make the payment to come out a few days before it's due, that way you still have a month of credit  Hope that helps :) though you probably know :D

Hi blue doggy- I hope you don't mind me saying but it sounds like you are depressed,as my niece has felt similar, could you maybe see your doc again, as jinny says thyroid has 2 markers for t3 and t4, I also am under active and take meds.
The death of your mum could well be a trigger for your blues,I miss my mum everyday and it is a huge sadness we carry after they go. Sending you lots of hugs and hope you find your strength to put yourself first the km is a good start.:grouphug:

  • Thanks all :) I may ask my Dr about the t4 level too - I'm pretty sure mine is ME/CFS with Fibromyalgia but anything that helps would be welcome.

BlueDoggy, that sounds really rough. I've found that anti depressants have helped even though I do not have clinical depression. My reduced mobility and activity means my body produces less serotonin, which is artificially boosted by the meds. I've had depression before and I can feel the difference. Ofc I have no idea whether this would be helpful for you, but may be worth discussing with a Dr.

I've had a lovely early bday lunch and am now resting in bed. Badly want to tidy and clean but it is a choice between that or showering. So I'm resting, then showering and then I'll see. Very happy to report that all my gifts have somewhere they live straight away :D Had a brief panic about if I kept the necklace that my new bracelet matches but I'm positive I did. Crisis averted!

Happy birthday dragonette glad you got to enjoy it.
I'm sure resting first is the way to go, then everything else is a bonus ;)

    Happy birthday dragonette

Hope every one is well just back from a very joyful day at my mums, went for a mooch round town and took her out for dinner, left all the stuff off yesterday mins list with her along with a few other bits and today's mins list which is.....

    Mins list
    Day 20
Two big bags which contained at least 40 items of clothing for my nieces, with instructions of what they don't want is to go straight to the CS.
That may be considered cheating but I couldn't be bothered to list them all individually.
The two bean bags from a previous mins list were dropped off at dd1 on the way back

Feels like a lot has gone today, we also prepped big pile of junk in mils garage that will be taken to the tip on the next run as well as putting her a new led security light up.

Going to watch a film now and do some knitting
