Hi all I found you a couple of days ago and am on page 29 and loving it. I have ranger rolled tea towels and cloths in the kitchen and can't wait to get started on the rest of the house, unfortunately cant get started for a couple of days but I did roll the towels after 11 last night as I was so excited haha. How are you all getting on any originals still here and still Kondoing!

    :) Morning all.

I love it that oceanspirit has kondo'd a feather boa. That's so wonderfully random. And mavvy's sales pitch to the energy lady has had me PMSL this morning, what a treat. Imagine if how even as few as 10% of these unsolicited sales pitches met a mavvy in return, they'd soon have to abandon this annoying practise. She'll soon have her number blacklisted.:rotfl:

I've been rather lacklustre due to dragging myself around with a cold which started two weeks ago come midnight tonight, and which has really knocked the stuffing out of me. Us ME types take a while to revert to equilibrium when challenged thusly. But I'm getting there.

But I did give a mini-tidy to my airing cupboard which, because it was a kondo'd cupboard, went from messy to orderly in about 3 moves. I keep peeking at it, it's so satisfying.

It's truly delightful to discover how easy life can be when, instead of tidying stuff up, you tidy it right out the door and down to the chazzer/ HWRC/ dustbin.

Oceanspirit - like you I'm finding it difficult to get rid of mementos. Have sorted DS1 & 2 old school reports to be given to them but I have home made Christmas, Mothers Day and Birthday cards from them when they were tots - not letting them go. Found a programme for a function that DH & I attended in the mid 70's with David Jason's autograph as well as Bill Fraser and Harry Fowler - not many will remember them! Keeping for the moment though ;)
Busy week ahead but trying hard to Kondo as I go
    Keeeeep Kondoing folks! xx

Mavvymoo that is brilliant - I get loads of cold calls I may use that if I may. I started Kondoing way back in January and the cupboards, drawers airing cupboard are all still great. Paperwork is so easy to find. I get my state pension in 4 weeks and had all the old paperwork in one folder. For holidays it is so easy to pack and you can afford little breaks as am staying out of the shops as have plenty of just about every item of clothing I need. I have a drawer with t shirts - short sleeved on one side and longsleeved on the other side. Can't buy any more as they wouldn't fit in. Treated myself to a jacket with hood in Bonmarche for the winter which was the only item I lacked when I did my hall cupboard. Anyone know if the mini Marie Kondo has arrived as she had a bump earlier in the year. My house was never tidy when my 3 boys were young so wondered how she was getting on.

    Morning fellow konverts.

Glad the telesales kondo cheered some of you up . Poor old Lizzie The best bit was DH came in the door and heard me talking and whispered 'Who is that' ?:) So I whispered back as loud as I could ;) Shhh I am trying to flog that Nigerian sh*te we got' from that man in the pub !! His face was a picture as he didnt have a clue what I was talking about but he knows what Im like and didnt question it.

Lollyfin Your question How are you all getting on any originals still here and still Kondoing! Yep I am fully kondoed(ish) but I dont think you ever fully kondo as you will keep tweeking things and improve the way you do things.Life after kondo is to keep on kondoing :rotfl:As your mindset has changed its hard to go back to pre kondo.Clothes have been my biggest challenge and have done them at least 10 times now :o But am still being drawn back as its still not perfect :o

Talking of clothes I have sold more on the bay and am now up to around £450 of sales in the last month. So more than paid for my joyful boots and after our bedding chat have ordered 2 new sets so will have 2 summer and 2 winter. So another 2 of my old ones will be kondoed when the new ones arrive. :)Which makes me very joyful :D

Have a lovely weekend (whats left of it )

Of course you can. If you start doing stuff like this as GQ said I think they do block your number as I dont get even 10% of what I used to get :D I am aiming at kondoing every single one of them and as someone once said on here sorry I cant remember who 'You must make time' and that has stuck in my head ever since :rotfl:

Good luck and have a fun and joyful time kondoing them off the line and try and beat my record of 33 mins :o keeping them on the line ;)Good luck in your mission.

Think I was in near the beginning. ...........still plodding on had a slow start then a bit if a whoosh and back to 'slow and steady wins the race' approach. I find it comes in fits and starts for me as I have RL commitments and priorities. Next whoosh will be during half term. ..........did take 3 bin bags to CS yesterday :j

Here is a side effect of kondoing I didn't expect. ...weight loss and improved fitness/energy/general va va voom! All with no effort at all. Only change in eating habits has been a cut down/complete elimination of some things and not through any concious decision either. Its just happened! I have had more energy to go walking in the mountains on my door step and have gone back to swimming 3 times a week. Again not a concious decision, I have just found myself with my boots and ruck sack or my swimming gear:rotfl::rotfl: This could be because the barricade which I have mentioned before is depleted,I have more time, I have found a new zest for life, KM magic or a combo of all the above :T
What ever it is. ......I am lovin it:D

Down side......I kondoed lots of clothes that I was keeping for 'one day'. .....That day will arrive very soon at this rate

  • I've just been collecting up the carrier bags as Ocado are delivering here today and I have over 50 plastic bags to give them and I still have loads left.:o:D I didn't realise there were so many as they were all in samosas.
