Morning Everyone
Another item sold overnight but as it cant leave the house yet it will be my first mins game item for tommorow its nice to have one to start.
The Geese are leaving on mass this morning flying out over the North SeaI always watch and wish them luck on what ever long journey they are doing as I think they are amazing. The Starlings will soon be following as they are lining up on the telephone wires getting ready to go. Winter is coming sadly as the birds always seem to know what we dont.
But looking forward to the Field Fares arriving as we have many pairs who always come back to our garden.:Dyear after year.I hope they are all safe and will appear soon.
I told you we were clearing the pond in the village to make it into a wildlife area which has been hard work but rewarding and joyful. Well we have an otter :T Which has turned up He/She has been spotted by a few people (not me sadly) making use of the newly cleaned pond
Oh just thought I sound like Bill Oddie this morning :rotfl:
On to mins game later already have one thing to goSo will report back later with my 4 items
Good luck all

Morning Ladies (why do we have a lack of male Konverts?!)
Well I had my colours done last week.
I'm a warm, soft, deep which equates to an Autumn. Typically the one season I didn't want to be! Have cleared out about three quarters of my wardrobe even though the gorgeous blues, lilacs and greys did give me joy. Older stuff will be going to CS and clothes that I only purchased earlier this year will be going to my mum to try because she turned out to be a cool, clear, deep Winter I believe - lucky thing!
I have had immense joy this week buying some inexpensive clothing staples in my new colours and I can see how it all works because everything goes together. I will go for more expensive key pieces once finances allow but I wanted to make a start so it's cheap and cheerful for now.
We also Kondoed the old wood burner and a new one is being fitted on Thursday. :T
Not much else to report.
You're all doing so well. :j

I was wondering when you and your Mum were going for your colours doingI am glad you are sorting out your new wardrobe in your colours.Lucky both you and your Mum are different seasons and the same size
You have to look at the positives
I am Summer so we only need a Spring and we have the whole year between us
But with me I just wear what I want in what ever colours I want what ever style I want:D But do know what suits me. As will you. There is no hard and fast rules on this if you fancy a bit of Lilac or Blue one day just go for it.
I wear a lot of Bright Orange and Red not my colours I know but I know I can get away with them. But wear what ever makes you feel good and if that is your Autumn colours great if not get your expensive key pieces in your base colour. Mine is Grey so I spend my money thereBut I am sure you and your Mum will look great in whatever you choose to wear

My bathroom has finally been finished (well, apart from the lights, but they should be done this week), so I've been moving stuff back in there and excavating the ensuite ready for that to be dealt with next. Having too much stuff packed into not enough space resulted in some interesting discoveries (lots of shower gel... but until Friday there wasn't a shower in this house, and I've been here for two years; expensive shampoo I thought I'd run out of; lots of out of date medicines which I'll take to the chemist for disposal next time I'm passing).
The new bathroom is fairly minimalist - but I do have a cabinet above the loo for medicines/toiletries etc, a cupboard below the basin (flannels, cleaning stuff, kids bath toys, TP) and a useful cupboard under the bath for stuff that isn't used much (last remaining potty, kids step, non-slip bathmat). There'll be a quite a bit of extra stuff in there for the next few weeks while the ensuite is being done, but then I hope to keep it clean and uncluttered (except when the kids are here obviously!) and a haven of tranquility!
I did consider a shelf of some kind in the shower for shampoo etc, but have decided to see how I get on without one. So far the only things missing are a hook for a hand towel by the basin (so that visitors don't end up using someone else's bath towel for hand-drying) and a hook on the back of the door for dressing gowns.
I took on board some of the points that have been made on here about designing rooms to keep clean and tidy, hence building in some almost-invisible storage (BTW the bath, except where the cupboard is, is surrounded by loft insulation to help keep the water up to temperature - as it is VAST and will probably use the whole tank of hot water plus some cold, this is a very necessary measure!), and instead of putting back wooden skirting, we've used tile offcuts to provide skirting in the very few places where the wall and floor meet visibly.
The room looks fabulous, so all I have to do now is keep it clean. And tidy...0 -
Thought I let you all know how much I HATE you. Yes you did read that right.
We had started the mammoth task of doing dd1 bedroom last week and started a blitz on it yesterday. The 'yes' and maybe' things are all over my room, I had three, yes three, extra loads of washing. I have a wardrobe in my living room, clean clothes on dd2 bed (she was on a sleep over so temporary storage), we have run out of bin bags, enough coat hangers to start a shop, the Hoover has been emptied, and the things that lurked under the bed are out, need I go on?
My poor house looks ten times worse than normal as she collates things in different rooms and it's all because I read this thread and took on your advice!
Maybe, just maybe, in a weeks time i will LOVE you all for it but dodging things to get to the loo on a sleepy Sunday morning is not on!Don’t put it down - put it away!

It's OK, we've all been there, and know what it's like. When it gets really bad you end up wading through stuff in drifts on the floor.
:smileyhea You'll love us all to bits next week...............:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I think it is quite amazing when you first actually pull out your stuff and see how much you have. I was shocked as I thought I was minimalist before but you have things stuck at the back of cupboards and you stop seeing clutter if it's packed away.
It's much better when it's all done and then all you do is maintain the neatness.:)0 -
It's a bit like packing for a housemove. You think, I'll need X amount of boxes and bags and .......... THE STUFF KEEPS ON COMING!!!!
It emerges from cupboards and under beds and lofts and sheds and it's like a tsunami of Stuff, a lot of which you hadn't seen, never mind used, for the longest time, and you still have to deal with it..........aaarrrgghhhhhhh!!!!!!!
The most organised and minimalistic woman I know, whilst in process of moving day itself, thought I'll just get a clean teatowel to dry these last things from the sink - and realised that she had completely forgotten about packing her airing cupboard's contents.:rotfl:And she was the ultimate neatnik and clean freak minimalist, so if that kind of thing can happen to her, it can happen to anybody.
The gain is ultimately worth the pain, but the process is enough to put you off shopping for life. Oh, and to start fantasising about burning the whole lot and running away to live in a tent somewhere.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
