Hello Jinny, lovely to 'see' you again.
American Tan tights were part of my school uniform. They were known as Baked Bean tights due to the colour and needless to say we all hated them.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment having looked at my "to do" list on Thursday evening. Will crack on with one small thing at a time and just do what I can.
Mins game day 1: 1 leaflet for an event last August
Mins game day 2: 1 handful of old "to do" lists
1 set of vouchers which will not be used before expiry date
Postie has brought yet more paperwork today which will have to be kept for accounts purposes for the next 7 years. Grrrrr!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
I never iron anything (if it needs ironing/dry cleaning - it stays in the shop!)
If you iron things, let them cool completely before folding them, or they will crease. Also, ironing man-made fabrics can 'kill' the 'body' in them.
You could also experiment with different forms of folding/rolling, to find one that suits you better.
I like the idea of letting things cool but I'm finding that folding ready for the drawer on the ironing board is working for me.
Maybe I've got lower standards too:o but I didn't hang up tee shirts and jumpers previously just folded them differently and stored in piles like they do in shops. Then, just like in shops, everything got in a mess when I wanted something from the bottom of the pile or I only remembered to wear the things on top of the piles. I'm liking seeing everything in a row:).

I've only had my ironing board out in the past several weeks to use it as a folding table. I find that most things only have very slight crumpling on them from being dried on the clothes airer and the combination of smoothing them as part of the folding, and stacking them in the door doesn't worsen them.
And, after about 5 mins of wear, the slight crumpling has all disappeared anyway. Such a timesaver.....:rotfl:
Just kondo'd two tedious bits of personal admin and will now have a light luncheon before heading out to do some more autumn gold-ing to the lottie shed.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

It's a handy surface for sorting things, plus I do use the iron to press cloth when sewing. The ironing board was a cast-off from the deceased mother of an ex-neighbour, and is partially broken, but wouldn't be good enough to donate. It's perfectly usable if you know its foibles (i.e. don't attempt to move it once set up unless holding on to the locking lever thingy, or it'll fold up on ya unexpectedly).
It's taking up very little space in the cupboard with Henri d'Vac and Nursie. If I ever had to send it to metal recycling, I'd give serious thought to not replacing it and just using a cloth on the table.
Righty, off to the allotment to paint ma shed. I would've painted ma wagon but that was done last week. Laters, GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I am in on the mins game if that's ok.
Day 1 one box of hair rollers, various sizes and types. I have never used any. Some belonged to my mother, some were bought by DD2 to wear at a party theme night of 'scouse girls'
Day 2. Two pairs of nail scissors that did not work
Day 3. One hanger that seemed to reject anything that was put on it.
Two carrier bags of part used packs of Christmas cards were accepted by charity shop. Last week I tried a different shop but they did not want them. I was only going to try one more before they went to the tip. I would have had to separate the cards from the envelopes, neither the paper recycling nor the cardboard collection take envelopes.
I think i have some ideas for the next few days.0 -
Today I kondoed my lovely Dubarry boots to my niece, I loved them greatly, but swollen painful ankles that don't seem to want to bend in the direction I want them to had made wearing them just too painful:(
I had a little thought that I could perhaps save for some with zips (mine are pull-on), but the price atm to do that is a stonking £349:eek::eek::eek:, when I got mine I had just received a welcome but rare end of year bonus and only had to stump up about £225. Considering that I have only put 2 x 50p coins into the (empty) 50p jar this week, I think that it might take me a little while:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Drawer attack today;).
Pleased to say that drawer is done. Not half as bad as I expected.
I found that the mushroom punnet from the Portobello mushrooms is just slightly shallower than the usual so that worked fine and I had a tray from tenderstem broccoli. We like eating both of those so I'll be buying more.
One magazine in the bin. Well, it's a start;).0
