Yep, childish, but...
Change can be invigorating or unsettling. You are feeling invigorated, taking control of your personal domains, by kondoing.
He is unsettled by this change, which he didn't initiate, and doesn't seem to have much control of.
The pasta pot is just his way of marking his own place in the household.
Hmm may be a bit of 'marking' going on, but a pot that he got off a customer, that has sat on our shelf for a year - unused - we don,t even eat pasta
Anyway, its done with now - he came down stairs and said he was being daft and it was a bit of tat, we,ve agreed to make a 'chuck (cs), keep and decide later pile
5 bin bags (agreed) and dumped :TNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Aaw well done Mr Im and a KM Thanks to the nice customer who gave him the pot. It will get used to feed lots of new people with lots of delcious pasta. Its true purpose.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

I've just been in the bedroom packing my shopping trolley full of donations.
I've turfed out 2 jackets and 7 tops. There are plenty more clothes left and I realised that I just passed over these items, they weren't getting used, and several of them had been de-junked from other people's wardrobes into mine. They weren't rubbish, there are some absolutely lovely things in there, but they aren't suitable for my lifestyle and so should be liberated to serve someone else and raise money for a good cause.
This particular chazzer opens for a few hours on a Sunday and I will aim to get them there, if I can fit it in around my allotment exploits. Otherwise, it'll be midweek before it goes, but it's all ready to roll (literally and figuratively). It's a good feeling.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I sat and ranger rolled some towels this evening whilst I watched the TV. I haven't put them away yet but have a feeling they are going to get lost In the ottoman they were in.

PHOTOGRAPHS
Right note to self
Lesson 1- dont go through photos with family around
sat wth box of pics last night to sort into year - subject- person -
Ended up Ds2 Looking through them and asking who what where when. Didnt get very far.
Lesson 2- sort into albums asap with who what where ect marked clearly.
Lesson 3- if I dont they wont mean anything to him and will be like the poor ladys family who just dumped her pics cos they didnt mean anything to them.
PAPERWORK MOUNTAIN
picked up a handful to sort out last week got distracted and didnt get back to it. So thats the goal for this week.
Im not goingwith our leaders advice to throw most out.
That would worry me too much. Not easy with scanning either maybe in time. Got some post its to stick on each pile as I sort then go through each category. I know its handling twice but that will work best for me.
Ive no problem with household komono, clothes and the like
but this is my nemesis I guess.
its not a race I know but I really want all this done soon as. I'm
longing to be free living light and going out with any easy mind that its all sorted.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

OH opened his t-shirt drawer last night. They look like nappies he said unhappily.
Its weird because I actually think OH feels uncomfortable with things being too tidy. He has cleared out a lot of his clothes and let me fold his undies into nice little squares but I am not sure he really wants this.
I am really busy with work at the moment so progress is slow. Our clothes are done, except for a box of summer stuff in the wardrobe that wont take long to go through. I am itching to do the airing cupboard and the wicker chest on the landing - I dont even know what's in there, except for a couple of heavy wool blankets that came from my gran that we never use. Need to think about these.0 -

Try the Lazy Susan Idea, I think that would work for this cupboard. Find the Video on the Pintrest Board- MSE Forum Achievements:

Hi All - I made a start yesterday & spent a satisfying couple of hours discarding papers from my desk in the morning. Then I had to stop because we had a visitor in the afternoon & needed to do an everyday tidy downstairs to make the house look presentable. I gave him a couple of things after saying - only take them if you REALLY want them - he loved them - one was an art book that I'd not looked at for years but apparently it had all his favourite paintings in - lovely to see it appreciated again :-)
Took a big bin-liner of clothes & bits to the CS & remarkably I came out without buying anything. CS are my nemesis but I'm finding that asking myself if an item sparks joy before I buy it really helps.
I'm going to block out some time to do this properly - life keeps getting in the way lol
A question - Can anyone direct me to some good folding videos - I can only find Marie Kondo folding T Shirts on YouTube - I need some sock - folding guidance. ThanksShifting my energy for 20200 -
I just do a search on Youtube for towel/sock folding.
I have downloaded the KM book but not had time to read it,i am just picking up how to tidy clothes from this page.
I have done most of my clothes now and have 2 shelves in the wardrobe empty now ! I went through all the dvds/cds i have and most are in a bag for charity shop as i have them all on ipod and backed up on external hard drive. The worse items to tidy was all the plastic containers i have. They are in a wicker otterman in the garage, most of them had lids missing so a huge black bag full of plastic containers is out for rubbish.
Waiting for my Lazy Susan and drawer organizer to be delivered and that be kitchen and bedroom tidied.
If someone had said to me a week ago to look at items i have and if i get no joy from the items i should get rid of it would have laughed at them but it works doing that.
Must admit its not a chore as i am so liking this de cluttering as straight away u can see the difference.0 -
jinny - re the books. I do re-read an awful lot of them and have got rid of hundreds over the last couple of years by asking myself if I would read them again. Some I did read again and then decided that I would never read them again and so gave them away.
Last year I re-read my beloved Chalet School books which I started collecting when I was about 10, I can remember when I got the first and how I loved it - I am keeping them in case I ever have a grand-daughter. I'm not sentimental about many things but I now realise that I used to escape into my books because I didn't have a happy childhood and the books were my friends.0
