My dd14 actually did some clearing out today.. I don't think it can be called kondoing but it's a start for a girl not known for her tidiness. She did her underwear and makeup drawers and even proudly called me in to see how she had organised them with little wicker baskets. Bless her. :T
For today's contribution I have sorted the stationery drawer and my desk drawers. Between us there was a decent amount of recycling and another full bin liner for the tip, thank goodness I have a large MPV as I have 8 now in the garage along with other bits and pieces! I have also started ditching a few kitchen bits and bobs while I'm cooking, anyone want a toast rack, banana case, avocado cutter, mango cutter, pineapple cutter (:o) and a burger press? :rotfl:0 -
Today I konodoed the hedgerows down the lane of its blackberries - I was out at 7am - lovely and sunny and must have picked about 2 kg
Then finished kondoing the soft fruit from the garden and pruned currant and gooseberry bushes and also dig out some wayward raspberries - I am going to give autumn fruiting raspberries a go next year so thought I would dig out some of the summer ones now. Just a heavily laden apple tree and fig tree to collect fruit from now ( damson tree decided to have a rest after last years amazing crop!) I reckon figs have another week and apples maybe more towards end of Sept. Still cropping french beans tomatoes and cucumbers. I am going to have a go at making some blackcurrant vinegar this year as the ones I picked earlier have just gone straight into the freezer and I know there are about 4 jars of blackcurrant jelly in cupboard from last year - found it here
Hmm a bit of paperwork tonight as I have noticed its creeping out of the office again. will do this whilst I am watching my guilty pleasure casualtyOH and DD2 have decided to kondo calories today ( they feel the need to do a low calorie day AKA 5:2 diet - I will be having pasta with pesto and bacon:D Not doing it on purpose - it was in the plan!!

Confession time......
I am now that woman at the till using up loose change...if something is £12.89, I'll proffer a £20 note and £2.89 in shrapnel.
Even if paying by card, I'll do the odd bits by change and the balance by card.
I only have about £80 of coppers and small silver to use up.
Hopefully the people in the queue are fellow KM-ers. (doubt it though).
Top tip - do not get behind me at the Severn Bridge tolls - well, they must like a bag of silver, surely it helps with giving change.
I use mine up at the self scan (or scan as you go) tills - if they are the type which have little shallow pots to put the coins in, not slots. Whenever I empty my pig (in which I save all coins bar £1) I take the money to T0sco or Soinsbugs and stand there for 10 mins feeding it in to pay for the weekly shop(Why use c0instar machines in a supermarket with a 7%(??) charge when you can do this for free instead!
:money:)
DS2 has sorted out some toys today ('encouraged' by DD) and I have not passed them all on to DS3 (mainly McD type toys) - he spotted 2 and wanted them to go with others he has, but the rest have gone into a carrier bag of a large amount of similar items and other stuff for the local Operation Xmas Child campaignShould hopefully be being collected this week :T

I thought we had done CDs until I went downstairs this morning and saw the pile of CDs that OH had 'found' in the kitchen cupboard with the cook books. Of course he won't get rid of any of them but he will have to find somewhere else to put them as they won't fit on my newly alphabetically stored CD shelvessaving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Talking of change... About to empty our whiskey jar. Not expecting a lot but really struggling as not working at mo. When I was working I booked a treat to Alton towers hotel with girls, water passes and theme park paid for. You get breakfast so have told girls in advance that we might be on picnics for other meals. I think they are more excited about the trip than what food they will get! Dd1 did check she still would be getting her donuts though!Don’t put it down - put it away!

I dont iron very often but when I do I like the 'smell' of ironing.............is that weird??:rotfl:
It is perfectly normal.
I love the smell of ironing. I don't iron all that often and I don't know why really because I enjoy it actually. It is peaceful and the end result is definitely joyous.

Hi Ladies (do we we have any male Konverts?!)
Well I came on here to post on Friday night and the forum was down for maintenance until yesterday morning. Was at mums all day yesterday so just spent some time catching up on the thread.
Starting to slowly get my Konjo (kondo mojo!) back. Decided to leave paperwork for the time being because I know that's what stalled me. I think with that I may go against MKs advice and do paperwork in 30 minute bursts. I don't think it will be so overwhelming that way.
On Friday DS2 and I made a start on his room. Took much longer than I expected because we started with old school books and he wanted to check each one before discarding. I think he may have inherited my hoarding tendencies. Anyway we got rid of 2 sacks of recycling and one charity sack and one back of rubbish. We can see his bedroom floor again! :j
Hoping to tackle his wardrobe next because just bought him a new suit and several shirts and ties for starting 6th form next week and don't want to cram them in with his other stuff. He still has old toys at the bottom of the wardrobe!
Also need to sort his desk so he has room for all his A Level books, etc.
VJ - how did your sons first day go? Hope it went well and he's happier about things now.
Re 50s style, I love it too!
I bought an apron in Asda a couple of months ago which I think is a 50s style. It was a fiver and I love it! I won't use it for messy cleaning jobs or if I'm cooking a Spag Bol because I don't want to stain it (I have plenty of other aprons for that), it is my baking apron!
EDIT: link to apron (mine is a different fabric but I love this one too!) http://direct.asda.com/george/george-home/George-Home-Sweet-Treats-Pinny/001487396,default,pd.html?cgid=D26M08G08C15S01
Have a good day!
