Aw Mav, you must have more faith in us. We would only buy something which brought us extreme joy! Did I mention my collection of white cats?!!!

When attending fund raisers now, instead of buying "stuff" (amongst which I often spot my own donations which I find hard...) I try to have tea and a cake, buy a raffle ticket or do the food tombola hoping I don't win most of the time!)

Beautiful Essex day. Now that I've cleared much of my spare room, my hobby stash from 2012 has emerged so spent a bit of time this morning getting that in good order. Boy did that feel good. I was collecting the Olympic 50ps and coins (yes I know...geeky....) so now I know which ones I have missing I can decide if I want to try and acquire them or not.

Mac, if you could keep an eye out on the change at the fete tomorrow...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Which do you have missing? I have started to find some in my change again! I completed my sets.

I collect every 50p I get - towards my wool combs - over £50s worth. What are you looking for?

  • I've finally bitten the bullet and ordered the book! My house is slowly filling up with too much 'stuff' hoping it will inspire me to let go and clear some much needed space. Any tips before it arrives?

My tips would be....look at the areas that really bug you and imagine what you want to achieve, unsentimental crap eg magazines, old carrier bags (use as bin liners). I offloaded excess crockery and cutlery to the office, they now get used daily - I hate binning useful stuff.

Under the sink...3 spray bottles of window and glass cleaner! put it all into one (careful when mixing chemicals), 2 boxes of rock hard hand wash powder went..not used in 10+ years.

Knackered baking trays went to the greenhouse for plant trays.

On the downside, I have a pile in the kitchen, I know where it will go, but I need to tidy those places so it can go. It's not a 1 day fix.

Saying that, I now know where to look for stationery, knickers, socks, light bulbs (all marked with the room they are intended for), car stuff eg de-icer, chamois etc.

I'm only a 1/10th in to this, but already I can see an improvement and I feel better for it.

OMG Your posts have given me such a laugh. If a massive truck turns up in the morning with all your kondoed karp on it.I am just going to deny any knowledge of anything :rotfl:

I have done 200 bags :eek: 198 trash and 2 treasure :rotfl:and thats just opinion :D My friend was helping me and we were 2 short so she grabbed two handfulls of gravel and stuck them in the bags :rotfl:I just looked at her with a stunned face and in her broad Newcastle accent said 'Eee Pet could do someone a turn ':eek: I said what sort of turn and she said 'well pet they could have a fishtank,:rotfl:

I was falling about laughing it was so funny .But I would much prefer to win the gravel rather than Billy the Bass the singing fish :rotfl:Which is the worst thing ever in my opinion. You must remember the rubber fish on the wooden board that sings 'Dont worry be happy' :o

iTwin thank you so much for your very kind offer but I wouldnt hear of it. You have an iTwin here who will twist everyones arm and get what we need I promise. Loads more donations in today and loads of offers of help :)

There was 4 paintings 2 are by a local artist and very local paintings But the 2 I like are by a Artist I dont know where from but dont think they are local at all.So will check him out a bit more next week :)

Really looking forward to it and laughing when I see someone walking round with Billy the Bass under their arm ;)

I know where to look for stationary too, Sally A, but it's in a big box on the landing... After I sorted through DS2's big toy box of assorted toys and removed the too small dressing up stuff and empty packaging, I could fit what's left for him to sort through into a smaller box. So put all the stationary I found in his room in the big box and am adding to it as I find things about the house. It's helping me resist all those lovely back to school offers (which contributed to the stationary avalanche at Casa Spiky...)!

I looked through my nice skirts & dresses in the wardrobe today before going off to have lunch with friends, and put 2 dresses and 3 skirts into the new chazzer bag, along with lots of books and some dressing up clothes. The clothes had made the first cull, but when I looked at them on me, they're just not right. I think the skirt I'm wearing now will go when washed as well, as it just makes me feel frumpy. (It's not what I wore for lunch, but what I changed into when home before doing housework & light gardening.)

mavvymoo, we've sold various donations for the scouts' jumble sales on bay of e and at least doubled what we've made from the jumble sales, so it's good to have someone like you who knows what to look for!

Did some baking yesterday and had a LB moment - why had I stored my crockery flan dishes in 1 cupboard and the metal ones in another when I use any/ all of them to bake in? Now stored all together very neatly in then cupboard that holds all my baking dishes -simples :)

I finally gave in. I have been lurking for a month or so waiting for THE BOOK to be available from my library system. I'm still 4th in the waiting list for the 1 book available. I downloaded it onto my Kindle for a train journey and nearly missed the stop I needed.:D

I have the whole journey from Blackheath to Glasgow tomorrow to make my plans. DH won't know what's hit him.

    Wish me well.

Good luck with the fete mavvy

The very first thing to do, is to stop it getting any worse, munchkin! ;)

Be strict, let NOTHING into your home, but absolute essentials!

I had managed to do this in a ruthlessly, 2 years before I started kondoing. If I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have been able to get to the front-door to take the book from the postman! :rotfl:
