Christening gowns that are in good condition and so small, may be acceptable as beautiful burial gowns for little souls?

There are supportive organisations/charities that might take them.

Iqueen, thats a brilliant idea. I don't honestly think my gown is museum-worthy.

I think this charity http://www.cherishedgowns.org.uk/donating.html was mentioned before, for people wanting to find a good home for a wedding dress. I note that their website says they can't accept any more dresses till September but I'm going to make a diary note to send mine off then. Thanks.

Hello all, I think the idea for christening gowns is lovely.
Today I have revisited my drawers and out of season stuff which is kept in tubs under the bed.
Thankfully a charity bag has arrived!:T so 3 full bags will go in the morning (hopefully)
I don't know about anyone else but I was getting a bag through the door everyday for ages, and as soon as I had stuff to donate nothing!
Can I ask how everyone folds all items the same size please? I start ok but when it comes to putting washing away I can't seem to get them the same
Do I need to buy one of those folding gadgets? Only I wonder if I would get the use out of it!!! ;)
Your fete sounds great Mavvymoo! Hope you raise enough for the new goalposts, I know kids are getting taller these days but that is stretching it a bit :rotfl:
Need to sort dgs craft box out as I have been throwing in all bday cards etc and it's getting unruly ,plan is not to look at them just throw, enjoy your day everyone.
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.

Thanks - yes, he will have to resit it. It's a boogar but can't be helped. He is talking about remark, but I think that's just cos he really, really doesn't want to resit it. We are off to 6th form college tomorrow to talk through his options - the bigger shock was the C in PE really, he should have at least got a B. He's always been rubbish at maths :p
    ;)

My son got a B in Maths despite being predicted an A, the exam was a lot harder than he expected considering it was one of his stronger subjects, and a B in PE in when predicted an A*! Then in Geography he was predicted an E and got a B.. methinks the predictions aren't very accurate! :D

Regarding KonMari, I am a newbie, I bought the book due to a recomendation on a paleo eating podcast I listen to and thought I was in at the start of something new, till I came on here! :rotfl:

I haven't done much yet as I have little time in the school hols. I did my shoes yesterday and kept 20/27, and learnt a valuable lesson in the process. When imparting this information to husband I should have told him I had got rid of 7 pairs, NOT that I'd kept 20. He's gone back to work now (for 9 weeks to the Middle East) so I can get on with it without Mr Suspicious keeping a close eye on me! ;)

I gave my daughter the three keepsake boxes I have lovingly filled for the last 14 years today, asking her to weed out any bits she might not want to keep.. she kept 10 items! I think she's going to be better at this than me! Of course I haven't approached her clothes and makeup yet! :o

Glad to read about the GCSE results. I still remember sitting a foundation science paper a couple of years back as I needed it for work. As I only needed a c I did the foundation paper as a private candidate at the school where I worked. The science department loved it because it was living proof for those kids that needed that bit of a boost who didn't think GCSEs affected your future! Despite the highest grade supposedly being a C mine was upgraded to a B as I did so well!!

Not had time to do much here as too busy enjoying the hols!

In the bathroom this evening, cleared 2 carriers full of crap/old/tatty stuff from the baskets.

A medical wrist support with a pre-decimal price tag, think metal and bondage.....only suitable however if my wrist is medium, and it's the left one I sprain.

    BIN IT!!!!
