Wot sunblock??? Here in God's Own the rain continues...
mav, will now be busy receiving all the [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] donations, so I hope she's having a laugh. Sadly, the Convoy of Skips mysteriously disappeared, as it drove fom the Outer Hebrides to the mainland. The RNL1 has all the Scottish boats out looking for it. Mav will be SO disappointed.
I like the unstructured Lasagne, GQ! I do the same with lazy meat pies! The meat is cooked and frozen in portions, then when I want a pie, I knock up a small amount of pastry, press it in small tin/pyrecks to bake. Sometimes, I'm even lazier and use a tin of stewed steak! No rolling or floury surface. It's so much easier than making a proper pie and tastes just as good. Curry and chilli etc can also be made the lazy way, too. Very handy when cooking for one, but I did it with the family as well.
You and I must have been on the same P1interest boards this week, GQ! I've discovered that I can freeze eggs for a year, bake 'hard-boiled' eggs in quantity, in the oven, make omelette 'muffins' to freeze, for a quick re-heat breakfast, and produce perfect poached eggs in their own little cling-film bags, with no pan to wash-up!
Must get a life!
Talking of Pyrecks... erm... I have a whole range of brand new cookware in my late mother's Welsh Dresser, in the Room of Doom, as yet unused.:( Anyone remember that offer from the Co-0p, in the year dot?It will bring me joy when I get to it, and can re-home some of my old -faithfuls. :j
Have a great day, Konverts.Needs, NOT wants!

what a kon-joyous day I am having in the world of kondo. I went out to do some messages and came home to find the man of the house still in his jammies. Grrrr. He muttered something about being busy but the house still looked the same until he took me upstairs and there was a huge pile of clothes on the bedroom floor - his for the charity shop! I nearly fell over when he opened up kondo'd drawers all properly folded and the wardrobe with his trousers all folded and categorised. The joy is spreading....If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Hi All, I have a question re ranger rolling for the experts.. I have managed it for thinner towels but the thicker ones don't work, there is too much material to tuck in at the end.. any suggestions? Or just roll and use an elastic band?0

I tried ranger rolling my towels and found the same, so fold them neatly so they can be filed on the shelf. (Though I've not kondo'd the airing cupboard yet, so it's a work in progress.)
Flannels are folded into a long rectangle by folding middles in and in half again, then the long rectangle folded in half into a shorter rectangle, then stored upright in a box, with shower scrubbies & hair towels at the back.
Hand towels are folded into a long rectangle by folding thirds in, then into a short rectangle that sits on the shelf by folding the short ends to the middle and in half again.
Bath towels the same as hand towels, but folded in half first so they're not too big, and (shh, don't tell anyone...) stacked behind the hand towels... And the spare shower curtain and spare bath mat stacked the other side. As I said, I've not kondo'd it yet, just organised more as I've put washing away. And dismissed raggy towels to the rag bag with a 'thank you' as I've taken them off the line, rather than shoving all in the cupboard and thinking as I use them, "I must put this in the rag bag next time it's washed & dry..."....I have three quiche dishes - three!! I can't remember the last time i made a s0dding quiche (let alone three). Do you even need a quiche dish to make quiche? I make pies in the lids of casserole dishes....
:rotfl:
I do individual quiches (on the occasions I do make quiches...) in my muffin tin. This lets me customise quiches for DS2 who is very fussy, as well as helping me with portion sizes, and giving me dinky leftovers for packed lunches.
Mmm, I love pastry, and quiche would help me kondo the flour avalanche...0 -

For those who have had their colours done, I read about this website that sells clothes relating to the seasons. It's not cheapand I've never ordered from them so I've no idea on quality or service, but there is a sale on at the moment that ends on Sunday.

Might be worth a look even if it's just for ideas. Shame I'm not getting my colours done until end of next month...
Have a good day xx
Mav I think you should start a separate thread on how to chooose clothes to suit. I for one can't even work out my season as my colouring seems to suggest Summer and I hate murky blues etc and much prefer the Winter colours.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -

I can't get on with ranger rolling, I know others swear by it but it didn't work for me. I fold mine a la Anthea Turner (also as described by Spikyhedgehog, I think) and stack them. Still tidier than it used to be!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

Sane here - Anthea's technique for my towels. However, I now give my bath sheets an extra fold and file them upright Konmari style.
I posted a photo on this thread a while ago.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Today I have dusted OH cook books and put them back in a better and neater order. Our cook books lives on top of a cupboard in the living room and it has always been stored in a messy way. OH was pleased with the result. Cook books brings OH real joy and I get to eat great food so none can kondoed.
Our garden bin subscription is coming to an end this month so I want to make sure I fill it up as much as possible until then. Today I half filled it with rotten apples. Later today I will be dealing with the weed.
Interesting comments re: where to store Christmas wrapping paper. I store ours underneath a sideboard in the living room, it's fairly wide so no one can see it. In the same place I also store Christmas/Birthday gift bags. All gift bags are kept in the largest gift bag that way I know where they all are together with tags and other wrapping accessories.
Next week I am having a week off but is yet to decide what to work on.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Got to be home checked tomorrow, but hoping we will pass, as no main roads, young kids etc to worry about, and I only work 3 mornings a week

I'm sure the kitties will bring joy with them islandmaid, well done for giving the a new home together.
I fold bath sheets into thirds then roll them and stack the rolls on a shelf that works for us, the hand towels are just rolled and on a separate shelf at the side of a toiletries box so they don't fall anywhere, there's also a post and a wall either side of the bath sheet shelf so they stay tidy.SPC~12 ot 124
