OMG Your posts have given me such a laugh. If a massive truck turns up in the morning with all your kondoed karp on it.I am just going to deny any knowledge of anything :rotfl:

I have done 200 bags :eek: 198 trash and 2 treasure :rotfl:and thats just opinion :D My friend was helping me and we were 2 short so she grabbed two handfulls of gravel and stuck them in the bags :rotfl:I just looked at her with a stunned face and in her broad Newcastle accent said 'Eee Pet could do someone a turn ':eek: I said what sort of turn and she said 'well pet they could have a fishtank,:rotfl:

I was falling about laughing it was so funny .But I would much prefer to win the gravel rather than Billy the Bass the singing fish :rotfl:Which is the worst thing ever in my opinion. You must remember the rubber fish on the wooden board that sings 'Dont worry be happy' :o

iTwin thank you so much for your very kind offer but I wouldnt hear of it. You have an iTwin here who will twist everyones arm and get what we need I promise. Loads more donations in today and loads of offers of help :)

There was 4 paintings 2 are by a local artist and very local paintings But the 2 I like are by a Artist I dont know where from but dont think they are local at all.So will check him out a bit more next week :)

Really looking forward to it and laughing when I see someone walking round with Billy the Bass under their arm ;)

    Just cried, mav! With laughter!

When I was doing my teaching practice 11 years ago, I rented a nice couple's holiday home, near both my schools. You'll love this she obviously told someone that she liked fairies! Yes, we know the rest! But in the corner, right next to the chair I sat on preparing my lesson plans and resources at the PC, stood a 4 foot high, revolting witch!

When I left, I bought her a fairy sealed in a jam-jar! :rotfl:

In the conservatory there was a bar, and over the bar... yes , Billy the Bass. I suspected that he sang, and warned him that I loved grilled bass. He never uttered as sound while I was there! :rotfl:

The convoy has set out! Be prepared! :rotfl:

I am not sure that 'kondo-ing' is a once and for all exercise in quite the way the book seems to suggest. Or why would we keep finding things that need to go from categories that we have already 'done'? Maybe it is more a change of mindset? Or other changes? When I did my clothes, I found it quite a depressing task, as I didn't like the big, baggy clothes which were the only ones that fitted :( Maybe the act of going through my wardrobe in such a way is what prompted me to make the effort to lose weight? I don't know.

I think it's more of a process too. It could be that you get more proficient/committed/relaxed about it as you go.

I agree with not letting any more 'stuff' in BUT I am on the lookout for replacements for things I need to bring me joy. For instance, my 15 year old winter coat has brought me huge joy but it needs replacing. If I could buy exactly the same I would so I need to keep looking....

Sitting room is all cleared and waiting for painter in the morning. Why do I have this sinking feeling he's not going to show???

    Morning All,
For those who have had their colours done, I read about this website that sells clothes relating to the seasons. It's not cheap :( and I've never ordered from them so I've no idea on quality or service, but there is a sale on at the moment that ends on Sunday.

    http://www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk/products/sale

Might be worth a look even if it's just for ideas. Shame I'm not getting my colours done until end of next month...

    Have a good day xx

    Morning all
IQueen I've got tons of stuff still to do so still sometimes feel like I'm scratching the surface of kondoing, I will be some time before I really feel like my house has space.

Maman, not really the spirit of kondoing I actually bought the patchwork stuff at the carboot last week but it is bringing me joy! I got the complete world of quitting - 5 binders full of instructions, a bag full of the required fabric, all the templates ready cut out and laminated, along with the super king sized wadding backing fabric scissors and a few other bits all for £2. I couldn't resist.
So in answer to your question I'm making a king sized bed throw but in the folders there are suggestions for lots of things that can be used as gifts like cushion covers, water bottle covers, iPad/phone cases etc.
So far I've made 11 squares and am really enjoying it, I need 80 to complete the throw, would love to see photos of your quilting progress.

  • Morning, good luck with the fete today Mavvymoo.

I still have quite a way to go on my Kondo journey, but I have to report on how happy I was yesterday getting my spare room ready for visiting niece. A few bits to be filed (the room is also my office), close the desk up; whisk the bedding out of the airing cupboard where it was neatly stored inside the pillow case, 'burrito' the duvet and it was all done.

The best bit? Making the room tidy for visitors did NOT mean moving bags, boxes and piles of carp into my own bedroom! This might not sound like a big deal, I'm sure to some people it sounds incredible that this is how I used to be. For me, it really is 'life changing' - I felt so calm and relaxed! I was sitting reading, with a scented candle burning, when she arrived.

it's going to be a scorcher today, it seems. Enjoy - take a day off from housework, gardening and Kondoing because life is short, and sunny days should be celebrated.

Morning All - looks like being a beautiful day today so do hope Mavvy has a very profitable day. ( and Billy Bass brings someone great Joy)
Only some 'bits' done - a few more redundant sewing items going to the Hospice craft shop today. Cleared and organised the paperwork in the folders for DH's car and Trike and the Caravan. We also managed to Kondo a great deal of our rampant Wisteria - I swear its first cousin to a Triffid!
Have a good day all x

Do not let my husband anywhere near Billy the Bass - I don't need more carp (bass, cod, tuna or any other fish) in my house. You know that collecting thing? Ducks, pigs, fairies, buddhas? Yeah, that - with my husband it's fish - and a singing fish would bring him deep joy.

    Me? Not so much

I have three quiche dishes - three!! I can't remember the last time i made a s0dding quiche (let alone three). Do you even need a quiche dish to make quiche? I make pies in the lids of casserole dishes.

I also have a dish for olives, with a separate little compartment for the pits. Probably used every other year - if that. I think 2 ramekins will do the job equally well - don't you?

Bags and bags and bags of stuff has gone from this house - bootfuls - but it still looks full :( It's just that there is now little under beds and the cupboards aren't piled so high, but they are still full......

I have 5 lasagne dishes - I rarely make lasagne either......

    :rotfl:
I wanna be in the room where it happens

:D Wow, thanks for unwittingly giving that idea away, I can make pie in the lid of a pyrex casserole, yippee!

Also got a tip online somewhere in the past few days - here?- about breaking up lasagne sheets and cooking them like regular pasta when you can't be arrissed to make lasagne. I can't be arrissed. And I have 2.5 pkts of lasagne sheets leering at me from the cupboard, which I bought when I thought I would make lasagne. Like eating it, don't like faffing around making it. After several lasagne-cooking sessions, I can't see that changing, so I now have a workaround. Gonna be great to get them used up and outta here, one small (ex)niggle for womankind.

Gawd, but I love being plugged into the borg brain of these forums.

Am finishing a cuppa and about to head allotmentwards for a few hours. Have found another use for one of those flimsy liddded grape punnets - perfect to be lined with a brown paper bag from mkt and have the teabags emptied into them. Can go into the fridge like this and then up to the lottie. I have to keep compostables in the fridge or I get fruit flies. And the tealeaves need to be emptied out or the unbiodegradable bit of them survives in the compost dalek and clutters up the soil.

    Have a good day, folks.
