Just popping in to say my Aunt lives in Great Wakering & cousins in Southend. I visit when I can & always think it's such a nice area. It's quite dry here in Hampshire too at the moment!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I wrote it in capital letters to begin with and then wondered if my memory was wrong!
Had my 18th there.
Wasn't there also one called Raquels?Edit: think that was Basildon!

Wow! Lots of 'Essex Girls' on here - we are moving to Benfleet very soon! But no tans or stilletos here!
Back beedrom was attacked at the weekend - now I have only briefly skimmed over parts of the book - but I was so much more ruthless than I would have been without it - even DH noitced! I am worried about forgetting to take the book back - I think I am more of a Konvert than I think - I was going to order a copy from Amazon but the Kindle version will take up less room!
Surrounded by packing boxes everywhere - but a lot less than if I hadn't discovered this thread - so my humble thanks to you all!
Oh - and we ordered some new furniture yesterday - sideboard, dining table etc - and I crossed the large display cabinet off my list......that says it all!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Nice on, Sagaris!
Just think of the joy of not unpacking things you don't need or love at the new home and then having to get rid of them there. I wonder how much money, fuel, backache and mental aggravation is spent moving Stuff which will turn out to be unwanted once unpacked? I knew one woman who moved and it took a team of 6 professional movers more than 4 hours to load the big lorry. My mind just boggles at all that Stuff.
For the record, I am, nor have I ever been, an Essex girl. Although someone did once accuse me of having more front than Southend. As I have never been to Southend, I cannot be sure whether I was being insulted or not. I suspect so.:rotfl:
The to-be-dearly-departed teapot has come up luverly and can go in the next donation bag. Not sure what items will be joining it yet, at this stage of the proceedings, they tend to step forward shyly, raising their hands in surrender, when I am thinking of other things. An amazing amount of sorting out can be done in idle moments in the bathtub, whilst pootling on the allotment and when deciding it really is time to get out of bed - I am an early riser but an even earlier waker, and that quiet time with minimal distractions is surprisingly productive.
Today will be mostly taken up with w**k and I am not expecting to get any kondo-ing done at all. But it is bin day, so we will end up with some more space in our communal bins. I have never seen the recycling bins so full, as most of my neighbours here at the flats just chuck everything in the general refuse. Not sure why there has been a sudden change this week, unless there are copies of the MK book loose in the neighbourhood.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning everyone - had a very joyful day yesterday as had a 35 minute - mega for him - phone conversation with DS who has been holidaying in the wilds of Cornwall for just over a week. The call ended with - when are you thinking of coming down again? - I don't know love - well could we perhaps come to you for the Bank holiday weekend!!!! Yay!! That means him, his D GF and her adorable puppy - little unsure about the latter as we have never had a dog but will fit in with whatever as it will be so very very joyful for them all to visit!!! Cannot remember when they were both here last - probably 2012.
Now off to kondo paperwork etc like mad then clean as I go as we are away for a long weekend the weekend before the bank holiday and there is now so little time!
Take care and if I don't post you know what I'll be doing!!July 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

I loved 'TOTS' The forester and Ship pubs and the Kersel when it was open
Anyone remember 'The bowl' like a big wooden bowl you came down the slide into and wizzed round it getting splinters in your backside
My Cousin met her husband in TOTS and they are still married over 20 years later.
And who can forget Peter Pans Play groundGQ yes I would take the front thing as a bit of an insult. The front at Southend is rather long as is the Pier
Sagaris We used to live in Norwood Drive and then to Uplands Road in Benfleet hope the Roads are still there as ive not been there for a long time.
I still do have a bit of a Towie accent with a few choice Towie words thrown in :DSo does my cousin who has lived in Oz for the last 25 years !
Have a lovely day everyone and keep on kondoing

My DD lives in Southend, she is at university there.
I come from the Isle of sheppey, which is just across the water from Southend - yet I had never been unti she went there last year. My accent is very much "Estuary" though....
My OH just said "I think I might start collecting...."
He didn't get any further as my "NO" was rather loud :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Who knew oven cleaner had a 'use by' date? .......PollyWollyDoodle wrote: »it does?
I think I may need to revisit the cupboard-under-the-sink!
The one I threw out did. It was very oodI can't get to the rubbish to check the make unfortunately.
Several other household items have use by dates, probably due to the chemical compounds (I'm guessing).I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
