Have been caught up in RL all week and have really missed reading the thread. It's astonishing how quickly it moves along!
Finally did some Kondoing today - not as much as I'd have liked but it still makes a difference. Tackled komono and there was enough in the bedroom to keep me going for two hours, fill a Re-Bag and a big bin bag! And there's still more to do, yikes.
Also managed to hang or fold all the laundry so I'm up to date with the clean stuff and am just waiting for the next load to come through. Found a few items that had made the cut before didn't make it through this time and are resting in the CS bag.Looking ahead0 -
Hi everyone - sorry not been posting but had laptop problems.
To those asking who I used it was CMB - local to us is their top consultant ( simply image) and I have been looking to go to him for a long time but couldn't afford it. There are consultants all over the country if you put your postcode in the cmb website and they do different things, colour, style, make-up or all three at once - and will even take you shopping. They do group sessions too to keep the cost down.
Have been shopping today and bought a few things but not much around that I could/ should buy. No rush though - like Mav I'll look in the ch. shops and sales first and perhaps buy a couple of pieces for long term investment when I see the right ones. Took the rejects to the ch shop this morning - only about half a dozen items so far but need to re-visit my skirts and see which are A line - as they aren't supposed to be OK for me - perhaps for cleaning up though!!!
Need to get on with paperwork now we've sorted the laptop so I'll catch up later. Sorry to hear about the need for speedy house clearance - that must be really upsetting. xJuly 16 £95/£200

It is nice to 'meet' a fellow Essex girlAnd we are much maligned! My skin colour is my own, and I do not own a single pair of white stilettos! I know that Great Wakering, in my corner of Essex is officially the driest place in the country, and Adventure Island is the driest theme park! I used to go to school in the west of the county
near Ongar.
I am in touch with one of my SS, via FB, so I may contact her. Not today though, as it's her birthday! Thank you.
Not much kondoing here, as I am at my mum's for dinner0 -

There has been a slight delay over registering the death, as it had to be referred to the coroner, but it's all sorted now and she will be able to register it on Monday. As soon the death is registered, the local authority, from whom MIL rented a bungalow, will automatically be notified and the tenancy terminated. They then have just SEVEN DAYS to clear it.
A week to clear the entire contents of a home, fortunately it's only a one-bed bungalow but I understand the lady had quite a lot of stuff. It makes you think, doesn't it.We had 4 weeks to clear my dad's flat after he was found dead. We needed it, too - he was a hoarder (mental issues) and one room was literally floor to ceiling with stuff - you could just open the door enough to squeeze in. The 'haul' included 1000s of bagged up wine bottle corks, 100s of empty loo roll tubes (also bagged up), and lots of other stuff.

The bag of extra duvet covers has gone to a CS, along with a bag of DsS's too small school uniform basics (grey shorts etc) which was cluttering up OH's ex's wardrobe for DsS lol.
Sorted DsS all out for camp, he's going on Tuesday for two weeks, felt like a lot of clearing but it'll all come back smelly for me to wash in a fortnight lol (it's all booked through OH, Ex just agreed to it and knows we'll sort it all).

My Diary - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=42027610 -
Last night I tidied up in the garden. I removed all the rotten apples from the ground but left the good ones, it gives us a lot of pleasure watching the birds eating the apples. It also saves us money on bird food.
I am back at work tomorrow but next weekend I am planning to go through my jackets / coats. It will make it easier to see what it is in the cupboard in the hallway. I will also go through OH's jackets but will of course ask for his permission before donating anything the charity shop.
PollyWollyDoodle, I am also appalled that your friend were only given 7 days notice to clear the property. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Still got all my fingers, but then again I didn’t get round to chainsaw maintenance!
Did lots and lots of little jobs, tidied sewing box (exit some dodgy colours of thread that i will never use, an extra tin of pins, a couple of rusty needles and quite a few spare buttons).,
removed carp from corner of fireplace beside my favourite chair ( accumulated over a couple of weeks, subs renewal letters, re-usable shopping bag, 2 editions of Private Eye, some receipts, a pashmina),
gave my hair a trim and conditioned it with some lovely argan oil,
made apricot jam,
kondo'd dust,
entered a quite busy few weeks' commitments into my new diary,
kondo - folded the dry washing and put it away, changed bed (did more washing!),
began thinking about better way to house various 'bedside accoutrements' such
as my current reading material, radio, etc (chest of drawers beside bed is too high to reach from the prone position!;).
Ooh, sounds a lot now I've listed it (beginning to like lists!).
Konverts, I also ordered a couple of replacement items of clothing, that will bring me joy!! Out went a grey bra that somehow missed the first cut - I bet I was wearing it at the time :rotfl: , lovely replacement on its way, along with a linen skirt that should look smart. Getting all clothes together did reveal my limited 'work' wardrobe needed some propping up!
MI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Another (ex)-Essex girl here - from Upminster.
I escaped 24 years ago though!
Most of my adult life I've not lived in Essex so I don't have much of an accent left, just a few words slip out now and then!
Tbh I never had a strong TOWIE accent when I lived there anyway.
Mavvy, I used to go to Tots nightclub in Southend as a teenager!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
