Morning Konverts :) The sun is shining here and its going to be a lovely day :D But what am I doing yes ironing :( DH has now taken to wearing shirts for work  He can find them now since kondoing his clothes so maybe the first drawback I have found with the bible ;)

Had friends phone yesterday to say they are on holiday in the area so were going to pop in. Before kondo that would have been a mad panic tidying and cleaning before they came :o But not now a quick whip round with the hoover and it was done ;) All so stressfree and had a great afternoon with them all My friend her husband and her mum and dad :) So a lovely time had by all of us.

Going back to coats GQ I also have 2 gilets/or bodywarmers as we used to know them ;) Which are in the loft. Both J*les 1 Navy and one Green both from a bootsale for £2 each;) I didnt wear them much at all last year as I feel bundled up in them :)So will see if I wear them this year if not they can go and keep someone else warm and snug (and bundled up:rotfl:)

Well its Carnival season here with 3 big ones going on last week, this week and next week is the really big one with at least 20,000 extra people in town  The roads are packed the carparks are packed and everywhere is jammed with holiday makers and visitors. But its lovely to see everyone having a lovely time and the local shops.pubs, cafes, and hotels doing such a roaring trade :) So its a time to stay close to home for me and avoid the towns if possible as a quick trip to the bank can take an 1.5hours rather than the normal 20 mins :) So 3 bags to go to Chazzer but they are going to have to wait but they are in the boot of my car so they are on there way :)

Have a good day everyone and make everything as joyful as you can ;)

Listed a load of DD's SylvFam toys on fleabay last week - they mainly have bids on, so that's good - they should be leaving the house by the weekend! Any unsold will get relisted for free (this time!!) and if then unsold will get bundled together and go in the nearly new sale box. She gets the money, so she's happy! :D Doesn't look like much of 'my' stuff may sell this time around, so it too will also have another chance via the free re-list and then I feel that much of it (clothes) will go to CS :)

    Morning all
Lovely and sunny here as well
I've just kondoed a skirt and top while putting them away as they didn't feel particularly joyful any more.
Another finished book got added to the kondo to school pile yesterday.
I'm doing the ironing next so will join you mavvy.

    Hope all are well

I've just finished the book, although I must confess to skim reading the last 40 odd pages of repetitive airy-fairy waffle. She goes on a bit towards the end, doesn't she?!

After breakfast I'm going to print off my kondoing checklist (someone here kindly linked to a pdf version in their signature) and get started. Wish me luck!

May I be the first to wish you good luck Pavlovs dog, unless I waffle so much that there are another 10 posts inbetween! :rotfl:

Great job on the photos, I bought a hard drive about a month ago but still haven't been able to face that particular task, plus there is the aforementioned floppy disc issue I still haven't started to resolve. I'm not really looking forward to this job as I know it will take aaaaagggesss, and there will be a lot of good and bad memories to be sorted through...it's going to bring out a lot of emotions...

Re toiletries, I warn anyone on here AWAY from the no buying toiletries thread, becuase it was a very bad influence on me! I managed to give up buying them only after LEAVING that thread!!

I went through my <ahem> rather large stash a while back - some of it had actually gone off (Soap and glory moisturisers really don't keep well), some of it I just didn't like any more. But the over-riding factor was when I worked out how many YEARS it would take me to get through it all, based on how long it took me to use one body butter, and I then happily culled loads of it, first dibs to family then anything left to my favourite animal CS. Shower gels seem to last for ever, so they have stayed. I have freed up a big gap in the bottom of my wardrobe. NOT going to fill it up!

This is a BIG part of my motivation for my Kondo conversion.

Last night I moved 5 carriers bags out of the house that I had previously sorted. They are in the boot of my car ready for the weekend. Yes I will be driving them around for a few days but they are OUT of the house! Have reduced my stationa(e?)ry stash by 50% - didn't have as many biros as some here, LOL, but first dibs to my sister, then anything else to the office at my local animal shelter, boy do they love a bit of stationery! Also, some jewelry, including some from family donated for the CS, Boots gift sets (gasp!!) that I was saving 'for gifts' (3 years ago)....

Lovely day, wish I was at home Kondoing some of my old magazines ....

Cant' remember who said they kondoed a skirt and top as they were taking it off as it hadn't brought them joy, but it's funny how you do develop this critical eye over everything you touch/use during your travels around the house now. I have a permanent chazza bag in my spare room. Everything gets chucked into that as I go along then I sort into categories before I donate...in the past this would have resulted in a lot of things being reclaimed, but this is hardly ever the case now!
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

You will get there Julie I promise ;)
Yep so easy now to keep on top of the cleaning.Quick flick round with a duster and hoover and its done :) About 1 day a month I have a corner clean as I call it and everything is pulled out and is given a really good going over and then its done for another month :rotfl:It just stays so tidy as anything which is in the wrong place stands out like a sore thumb so has to get put away :)

Been to the gym :) Back for parcel delivery (he has been) Still havent started the ironing as have found better things to do like sitting in the garden with a nice cup of tea and a book :rotfl:But need to get my backside in gear and get those blasted shirts done  Might hide them in some random empty drawer instead (i have plenty) ;) So DH cant find them :) Sounds like a plan to me. and then I can stay in the garden and finish my book ;) What will I find joyful out of those two options.
Pros and cons Ironing basket will be empty and everything folded to within an inch of its life and put away and I will have clothes to wear and DH will have a shirt to wear in the morning :)
But its a lovely day to sit in the garden and watch my stupid Chicken on the top of the bird feeder ;) and birdwatchers walking past down the lane with puzzled looks on their faces ;)

I reckon she is the most camera snapped chicken in Norfolk ;) I have seen her picture more than once in photo groups on FB :rotfl:She is known as the Witch of Eastwick as I have 3 the same all Black and odd looking :o So if you see a weird Black chicken on a birdfeeder photo. I would guess theres a good chance she is one of mine ;)

I am not one to complain/moan/whinge about the weather - it is what it is...............but PUHLEEESE I am truly fed up with wet n wild August already. But although we chose to live in one of the wettest parts of the country it is ofset buy peace and quiet, breath taking scenery and truly dark night skies.............and for that I am thankful :)

On the kondo front............erum........stale mate. Going to have a mooch around the threads I follow then hopefully inspired , I will continue. Didnt manage that trip to the the recycle centre so may well combine that with a trip to The Town and the CS with my bags till stacked up in porch waiting to go

I love Norfolk mavvy, in fact I'm there next week. Where abouts are you?
Ironing/folding done but some more is dry now so I'm doing that instead of putting it in the basket.

I've blitzed accessories and got rid of a load of bags and scarves that had survived countless pre-kondo purges. The chazza bags are filling nicely :D I'm not doing clothes properly until the end of summer as I am on a major weight shifting effort at the mo. Conveniently, OH will be on holidays too at the end of August, so I can rope him in ;)

I'm now going wild in the study, starting with the filing cabinet. Whilst our paperwork is mostly organised, MK has made me question how much of it I actually need. Instruction manuals were the first to take a hit. I have dutifully kept them all, because that is what my mother did/does. Two thirds are now in the recycling bag. I'm now working through old statements etc. Almost all our old bills are paid by DD, so I don't need individual bills AND bank statements to prove that I have paid my dues. My poor little shredder is going to be working hard today!
