IQueen OOD doesnt bother me either, but these had been in my cupboard for years and hadn't been used for so long I can't remember the last decade they were. by kondoing them I made room for the spices I do use that were sitting on top of the freezer. I have a spice rack up there as well that really doesn't get used so it can be washed out And kondoed leaving e space clear. I do have a DLTeapot up there that I never use but it's sat there so long, I won it on his radio show. jury is still out on wether that should be kondoed

Okay, how many pairs of jeans do people have please. I nearly live in jeans but seem to have so many pairs and can't decide how many pairs I should keep. Help! Xx

I only have one pair of jeans but I don't wear them that often. After KMing my clothes I only have 2 pairs of trousers plus one pair of tracksuit bottoms.

I totally get why some people are worried they will end up with an empty wardrobe. I have hardly anything left BUT there is enough in there for me to have something to wear. And everything in there is stuff that fits and stuff I love. I am having a rethink about a couple of dresses I kept so they may be heading out to the CS soon.

Finished paperwork yesterday thank God. Feel so much more organised now.

Thank you both. That's really helpful. I also have lounge pants-I love wearing them as they are so comfortable.
Okay, I will revisit my jeans, trousers etc and downsize. :)

Age is just a number to me... I have a larger plastic tub of black peppercorns, they look, smell, and taste fine, dated BBF 1993. Sadly, this morning I chucked out some Fenugreek from 1983 - I had never used it. It was fine and smelled as lovely as the day I stocked up on basic Indian spices (thanks Madhur Jaffrey!) :D

I am looking for a dress. Maybe I should try this once Polyester and viscose [STRIKE]are out of the question, because they make me sweat - 80% of dresses are out of the question[/STRIKE]; I am 6ft tall, so short dresses [STRIKE]are out, too (unless [/STRIKE]can be worn as a tunic with leggings[STRIKE])[/STRIKE]; my bust is small, but my hips are wide, so most shaped dresses are [STRIKE]out[/STRIKE] okay-ish; I don't like black in a summer dress, but that's all there is, so I'd better pick one, they must be fashionable or something

...at which point would you have thought 'that dress'll do'? I'm really aiming to have only stuff I truly love.

Siebrie - have you got a TKmaxx anywhere near you? I often find they have odd (read peculiar!) sizes there. I've managed to get a couple of dresses that were long enough at a fraction of the price of LTS. How about having a long dress shortened?? There's plenty in the SM & the usual chain stores the moment & worth having a look

Well came upstairs with all good intentions of tackling clothes and promptly fell asleep:eek: It will have to wait until tomorrow now as going out tonight. I have chucked in the CS bag the latest book from my book group........a hideous boring tome which we all agreed at our meet up last night, was not worthy of its Booker Prize short listing:D

:) Nil jeans but several pairs of black yoga pants, which I love. I sometimes wear them with c.s garments which are probably intended to be dresses but are mid-thigh tunic length on me.

Well, went to the dentist for the scheduled two crowns (this was arranged about 2 months' ago) and the emergency on the other back tooth which broke on Monday.

Both back teeth on that side were root-canalled many years ago by an NHS dentist, before I defected to the private sector, which is my one extravagance. In 2014, my lovely private dentist did tell me that current best practise is that when a tooth is root-canalled, that it is crowned at the same time. This is because the tooth is dead, it becomes brittle and can break and may not be salvagable. He did recommend last year and again this spring at checkup that I have that tooth crowned.

I didn't do it, it did break, the break is vertical and all the way down to the bone in my jaw and cannot now be crowned as they can't take a mold down that far and get a good result which will have the crown stay put. That molar has been mended as best as possible, but it on its way out, although he'll do his best to keep it as long as it's functional and not giving me grief.

 I'm dead cross with myself for being chicken and not getting it crowned when I had a chance, but it's my own fault, not his. The other two teeth (one root canalled) have been prepped for crowning and I'll have to treat them very gingerly with the temp crowns in until 20/08 when they'll put the finished crowns in.

Still feeling a wee bit fragile and will be having an early night tonight.

But I have done a little kondo-ing, still not yet finished, on some drawers in my wall-unit, where I keep meds and stationery and a few other bits and bobs. Have taken five from that project to loaf online with y'all.

Keep up the good work (and do what your dentists advise!) GQ x

I feel your pain. My dad came home once with a pair of "granny" shoes and they made me wear them. I used to leave the house in them, then change into pumps once i got down the road a bit. it then occurred to me that they would never wear out like that, and that the parents might think they were such good value they would get me more  So i took to wearing them half way to school scraping the toes along the road as i went, until they formed a hole :o I am a bit embarrassed about that - they had no money (though they did smoke :() but it got me out of the shoes :)

Strangely I still detest buying shoes.

I feel your pain, VJsmum - my school shoes were always the hideous sensible ones (whatever was on offer probably) and while I wasn't bullied about it, I didn't like having to wear them.

Our clothes were all ghastly as well, again, whatever was going cheap. I went out in the most outlandish combination of colours - these days it might almost be fashionable but in those days (70s) I just looked a fright.

But now, while I don't especially enjoy shopping, I do enjoy nice shiny shoes, preferably in bright colours like red and purple and with a killer heel :).
