My achievement today has been DD (4) clothes. It's much more manageable- and she helped too!
"Mini-moo, do you love this skirt" (as I hold up short denim one, we didn't choose it, was a hand me down). "No, mummy, I really don't, it doesn't even move when I twirl!" :rotfl:
You see, what is the point in a skirt if it doesn't fly out when you pirouette??? It wasn't bringing her joy! But she said "I really really love my cinderella pyjamas!"Bossymoo

Bossymoo, that's so cute!
i have to say that my DH bought himself some PJs with a glow in the dark target on the top. He is normally so serious as well. Before he wore them first time he laid them out in the sun to charge them up :rotfl::rotfl:
I laugh everytime he wears them, mainly because it is just like being a kid again, loving your cute PJs !!
Oh yeah, he also has an Incredible Hulk pair, but the less said about that, the better
He, who will not part with anything until it is falling apart, even if he doesn't like it, finally joined the outer circle of MK and volunteered a coat for CS at the weekend. You could have knocked me down with a feather.

Had to share as the difference in me today was nothing short of amazing and it can only be down to one thing (and we know what that is ) So Wooo is all I can say

Really bad storm here last night kept me awake from 3am until 5am :DIt was amazing watched for ages (when you could see out of the window as the rain was so heavy) It was like a tropical (not GQs towel) rain storm. The most joyful thing about it was the windows are so clean this morning I have been saved a job :DHow  is that
Now the dog (who was also up with me) and I are sneaking back to bed for a couple of hours :rotfl:Everything can wait and I dont care how joyful is that :rotfl:
Have a nice day doing what ever you want or have to do and make it fun and as joyful as you can

Oooh, envy-envy, I do love a good storm. And, if you're organised, you can nip out and chuck a cap of car shampoo on the top of your motor and let bits of it clean itself.:rotfl:
Back in the day, when I had a car, I used to handwash it when it was raining, to save time and water. No point in getting older if you don't get more devious.
Today I am going to wear a top I am not sure about. It has made the cut on previous declutterings. It's a tee shirt and, due to being very fair-skinned, I have limited use for short-sleeved tops, being only able to wear them indoors or outdoors when the sun isn't shining. I shall give this item an outing today, consider if it's joyful enough to justify its drawer-space and then launder & discard if applicable. It cost me all of 50p so won't be wasting a huge amount of resources if I let it go.
Yesterday, I spontaneously treated myself to some lavender plants. Not expensive (3 for £2.49 from Liddly) and will go up to the allotment this evening or at the weekend. I have a long-term plan for the allotment which involves some lavender but have decided that my motto shall be Don't Postpone Joy.
I'm ruddy well going to have my lavender now, and can always take cuttings/ move plants later, when the longer-term lottie plan is executed.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Managed to sort another load of clothes yesterday. Half a dozen pairs of jeans going to charity. I now have 3 tidy clothes drawers. Still have underwear, handbags, shoes and wardrobe to do.
I really must sort out rest of toiletries today too...GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Went to the gym yesterday & was so hot needed to use my little towel. I noticed for the first time it's got a small embroidered leaf motif on it that looks suspiciously like cannabis . Don't know how I got it, its very small and an unlovely sort of washed out terracotta colour but now it's making me smile as it feels a bit subversive haha!

Morning All, can I join please. I bought the book whilst on holiday a couple of weeks ago and I made a start on clothes on Tuesday. So far I have thrown out or sent to CS 6 bags.
I have very few clothes left but the feeling when I opened the wardrobe to see the clothes I have kept was one of joy - everything in there is something I love and they all fit me!!
I wore a beautiful butterfly necklace yesterday that has been at the back of the jewellery stash for a while and forgotten about. Everyone I met commented on the necklace yesterday. Now that I have KMd the jewellery it will be worn more often.
Today I plan to finish the clothing category with shoes and bags.0 -
Morning everyone! :coffee:mrs-moneypenny wrote: »Morning all
Can't believe how brilliantly everyone is doing. Well done all of us.
I hope everyone is as well as can be and finding their kondoing journey is going well. To those who find area that they have got stuck in I'd say stick with it Mavvy is a brilliant example of how much better we will feel about things once we have come through the tunnel. Items that at the moment leave you stumped can be set aside and returned to.
My landing is piled full of bags and boxes now so I desperately want to do a CS run, hoping to get down there next week, there is a rather unjoyfull suitcase in the attic, DH has suggested storing stuff in it but I think I may get it down and fill with CS items to make it easier to transport and say the Cs can keep it. It is a serviceable case but excess to our needs.
Today's plan is to clear all the excess newspapers and mags from the loung and revisit the current paperwork file.
Cookbooks may get another visit as well.
Have a good day all
A great post, mrs-moneypenny - good sense, and inspiring as ever.
To all newbies and lurkers: Mavvy, jinny, and GreyQueen have all COMPLETED the project (although they still continue to find an odd item that is less than joyful, to send on its way!)
Mavvy was incredibly focused, and whipped through her home, at a speed that few of us will manage. jinny and GQ, were also magnificently steadfast, fitting the project into every gap in their considerable RL commitments. :A:A:A
To succeed, we all need their focus, however long it will take us.
From what these 3 Paragons, and other dedicated Konverts, have posted, it seems to me that we will all reach a 'tipping point' when suddenly the clear space will stun us and we can see MK's method really improving our lives, making tidying unnecessary (as we put everything away, more or less immediately!), cleaning is quick and simple and we find that have Time. :j:j:j
Your suitcase, mrs-moneypenny, raises an interesting point.
We are constantly looking out for those boxes, punnets and useful storage solutions that are already present in the house, which, as MK suggests, will magically present themselves - and they really do!Nevertheless, we need to beware of 'storage solutions' that might encourage us to hang on to stuff that we really don't need! Re-purposed suitcases are very good at hiding unused and un-needed Stuff! (Literally, 'in case'!) :rotfl:
I have BFL full of useful (?) containers for kondoed things, but I've stopped collecting them now, and I regularly discard some, as I discover a more useful container. Anything left in the BFL, at the end will be out of the door.
One of the keys to success, which the Paragons kept on top of, was getting stuff off the premises as quickly as possible. This is something that I'm not good at, but must improve on, because, obviously, the quicker it leaves, the sooner we reach that joyful, spacious 'tipping point' and the easier it is to kondo![Mental note: must try harder!
]
Don't give up. Make sure you are kondoing 'little and often', if health, or RL life, don't allow you to be a Paragon! We will succeed!
