:) It's looking pretty promising right now, the day has been a bit overcast but it's cleared out sunny. I have hopes that the pals can be persuaded to do some weeding in return for tea, cake and choccies but suspect they'll want to loaf around on my deckchairs and natter.

I can probably get them to pick their own strawberries, tho!

I'm perimenopausal, too. Anyone else have night terrors? I had a spate of them, mercifully stopped, which sent me throwing myself out of bed shrieking. Just a touch embarrassing when living in high-density housing with almost no sound insulation.:rotfl:

I have night terrors too. I always wake up with a start and snuggle up to Mr tc to the point of holding on to him so tight...and then I realise it was just another b____y awful dream and let him breathe again. :)
I will be pleased when they have stopped. I was talking to my mum the other day and she said I also have restless legs to look forward to! Lol thankfully I haven't had restless legs as yet.

Anyway, back to kon Marie method. The day before yesterday I did manage to sort out some of my clothes. I only did tops and jumpers and I filled 2 carrier bags. I took them out of the house yesterday-before I could change my mind. :) I didn't take them to charity, but I did put them in a recycling bin at H & M. You can take up to 2 bags in per person per day ( I think) and for every bag donated they give you a conscious voucher. The voucher is worth £5 off a £30 spend in H & M. If you shop there it is well worth it to get the vouchers. If I don't think I will use all the vouchers-as I regularly donate, I just give a couple to a friend to use. :)
I also sorted out 2 piles of books, but they are sitting in a couple of bags waiting for me to decide what to do with them. :o

...I tend to circle round and come back to discarded interests some time later and have another burst of enthusiasm - eg sewing or cake decorating, both of which I am quite good at but by no means expert. A lot of these interests require quite a lot of stuff

When I am in one of the phases where I have lost interest the equipment and stash doesn't bring me joy. But when I do rediscover it, I get nice warm feelings from revisiting my hoards and using them again.

Had I been doing a strict MK approach, I would have asked myself if the stuff brought me joy and the honest answer at that time would have been no. But knowing myself a bit better makes me loathe to get rid of things that may just be in a 'down' period

In sorting stuff into categories I've realised that rather a lot of my Stuff is craft-related. Like you, I have a lot of interests, I'm not an expert but enjoy several different types of craft and have some others that I'd like to try when I have time. My collection is large but my output is low! With dawning horror I have had to accept that in some areas - especially 'thrifted' fabric which might (or might not!) be used some day, I was approaching SABLE - Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy. A million thanks btw to the poster who introduced me to that acronym!

I came across this blog recently - how to Kondo your yarn stash which might be of use to others.

I've set myself a target to see if I can actually produce some items for sale in a few weeks time at a fair type of thing that I'm going to. After that - I may feel more able to accept that some fabric just isn't going to get used. Like you, however, I don't want to rule out the possibility that with more time or on a different day, I may want to play with that particular craft again!
Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.

Interesting blog . Thanks for this. I'm dreading tackling my fabric/crafting stash. :(

My neighbour got a call from " you have had an accident in the last 2 years etc etc" Yes says he and after about 20 minutes the caller asked if he got the name of the other person It must have been Prancer or Dancer Dona or Blitsen and said he was afraid he had hit Rudolf but he hadn't as Santa did come that year. Oh deer!! they hung up.:rotfl:The deer ran off but the car cost £700 to fix

:) I seriously thought I was going nuts as I would wake with a scream, always about 70 mins after going to sleep, convinced I was being attacked. I would 'see' my assailant coming at me and literally hurl myself off the bed. Thank goodness I have a low-ish bedstead.

It was happening several times a week for a while and was exhausting and embarrassing. I finally did a bit of reading on the perimenopause and when it mentioned these night terrors, it was such a relief, it's not just me.

Seems to have stopped for now, for which I'm suitably grateful. As are the neighbours, no doubt.:rotfl:
I’m convinced that I’m either tracking down or being tracked by a serial killer through dozens of rooms, stretching on endlessly and it’s so real. Or I’ll wake up with palpitations because I thought I was trapped somewhere and couldn’t escape.
IQueenI hope everything went well today with your operation? all good wishes coming your way.
SuperSaver thanks for that. I’ve downloaded it to the Kindle and am looking forward to my bedtime reading.
Congratulations Mummyroysof3 and well done on not keeping any unnecessary “stuff”.
VJsmum honestly I think you’ll notice a big difference once you’ve read the book. I have the Kindle version too and have re-read it three times already!
Hi TattyCath – thanks I’d appreciate that. Not sure how to PM on here though! And isn’t it strange how we’ve all been having night terrors? I hope they disappear now we know that they’re just a horrible symptom
Actual Kondoing has been slow again today. A bit of shredding at work and I dropped and broke a big jar of hot sauce - probably not as MK intended :rotfl:
Seriously though I've noticed that I'm clumsier than usual lately - hormones or lack of sleep probably but it's a pain. The poor OH decided to take care of the giant red glassy puddle and I've now Kondoed the first aid box after it took a while to find the flaming plasters!
    Looking ahead

    Mummyroysof3 Congratulations on the degree.

iQueen Hope the op went well.

I'm not doing much in the way of kondoing at the moment :( but not adding to the clutter. Going to kondo some hair tomorrow and do a bit of clothes shopping. Hope I can find clothes that bring me joy! :)

Well done, Mummysroyof3, on getting your degree! :j

Thank you everyone for your good wishes for today... unfortunately, I must have been unclear... :o Today was just a meeting with the Oculoplastic Surgeon! (The NHS has moved very fast this week, but could not complete a 7 day miracle!) :rotfl:

Then of course, it was too good to be true anyway! :(

The Big Cheese was also Vintage! He apparently expected me to keep quiet, as he spoke about 'her' and 'she' to his colleague, as if I was not present. When I tried to ask a question, he made a sarcastic remark; and dismissed my question about disfigurement.

When I, (very politely), tried to explain that I needed more information, he told the Opthalmic surgeon "I don't think this patient is for me." I said "I agree!" as he walked out of the room.

The shocked younger surgeon, proceeded to supply all the information that I had asked for, and wrote down his name, telling me to just get in touch if I had any other queries. He has put me on his emergency list and expects to operate within 6 weeks. :)

On the way out, I picked up a leaflet on 'how to complain' about the Big Cheese!
