Glad you found the vouchers polly, enjoy tomorrow's shopping trip. I hope it brings joy.

Got rid of some stuff from mils garage, a single metal bed frame we had stored in there a couple of years ago, a broken airing rack, an old rusty Tilly lamp, a rusty paraffin lamp and some metal buckets fil used to use when painting all went out for the scrap man and were collected yesterday. An old broken fence and a rotten tree stump have been removed and are currently being replaced with a nice new fence which hopefully will bring mil joy and privacy.
Old boiler that didn't work has been kondoed and replaced with a shiny new one that does work so she will have hot water now.
I took a big roll of binding to work to sew bunting on that the children have made, that will bring joy when it's fluttering about during the summer fete.
I also kondoed my split ends and grey roots this morning which brought me joy.

Wow everyone some great thought provoking posts today :)

iQueen in regards to anything in writing no sadly but we have been looking after it and using it for the last 15 years( and didnt even realise we didnt own it )until we were told by someone else who he had been gossiping too  so I think we have a fair bit of rights to it.
When and if he decides to put it on the market. As I now dont believe one word that comes out of his mouth ;) We will either make things as difficult as we can :D Or sell up as well and go to where ever takes our fancy :)

Either way I really dont care any more and that is the honest truth.I refuse to waste one more day even thinking about it. What will be will be but I know another one of my dear mums sayings 'The chickens will come home to roost;)) Will come true sooner rather than later.

I am also playing the game and never ask any questions never ask what he is doing and answer anything I am asked with a very nice and polite yes or no ;) I know that gets to him more than anything else its amazing on how little you know about anything when you want too :rotfl:Mmm not sure comes up a lot so does, Oh gosh Ive forgotten. And like you said it goes over my head and I just enjoy the rest of my day.

So again nobody or nothing is going to spoil my happiness.Im happy and joyful and will deal with things when they come up in a way I decide is right.I am a much calmer person since KM and refuse to get annoyed and uptight :) As it gets you nowhere just a few more Grey hairs and thats about it :rotfl:

So iTwin :rotfl:Our journeys go on and just get better dont you think :)

Who would have thought that little paperback book could have sent us all on this journey.I forgive you KM for your shopping trip and White Clothes or Blazer:) (Which one we are not sure);)

Phew, mrs-moneypenny, your busy day wore me out, just reading about it! You've done so well, and not even your home! I'd love a DIL like you! ;)

Such wonderful posts on here recently, I hope you are all safe and well. 3 bags of DS1s clothes to the Chazzer today and there will be at least double that of DS2s in the next couple of days. Given he spends most of his day in either school uniform or a onesie, I could probably take the entire contents of his CoD and Wardrobe and he wouldn't care.. however it would make for very interesting trips out. Can just imagine MILs face if that were to happen as she thinks its beyond the pale to wear nightwear downstairs! Both DSs are very onboard and are planning this weekend to kondo their toys and books in advance of the school fair with no prompting. Magic indeed.

Had a Kondoless day yesterday due to work and various other necessary but unjoyful tasks. Ended up having long convoluted dreams about unfinished journeys! Anyway as soon as I got to work, I grabbed a file of postponed filing - managed to shred 2/3 of it and the rest is now ready to go to central filing. This is the task I probably hate most so treating it as Kondoing made the difference - MK you're a wonderful woman!

BTW - all these posts are so helpful. Especially the recent ones about life changing moments. I had a similar moment a few years ago whey I tried Flylady (pre-MK of course) and it led to big, and positive changes. With some very disheartening and distressing situations to deal with over the past few years, I've needed to find that "click point" again. I know she's talking about the point when your home feels right but it's a mental balancing point too - knowing that your life is yours and you can take charge of it at some level, however difficult your circumstances. For me, it's lifted me out of a very low period and set me on the path to a more joyful existence. Previously I would have settled for contentment (as an out of reach goal btw) but I've reached that now and am aiming for more.

There are so many threads on the forum which are helpful, funny or interesting but this one is actually life changing in a way I'd never have expected. Thank you everyone!
    Looking ahead

Iqueen my Dh is an only child and we only moved into the next road from his parents when we got married. Sadly is dad died four years ago so his mum is increasingly dependent on us as she is getting quite frail. Luckily I work part time at the school between our two homes so I can fit cleaning and helping mil in. But as a result of kondoing I seem to be getting more and more hours offered at work which I obsoletely love and really enjoy and I don't want to have to give that up so I'm just.making sure everything else fits in round my newly acquired work.

I received a gift aid email from the charity shop my last donations went to and so far they have made over £70 from my donations and there will be gift aid too. Ironically if I hadnt bought any of it I could have donated at least £1000 to charity but hey ho.

Iqueen, you just reminded me of a fridge magnet my DH bought me a few years ago - 'Stick with me, the best is yet to come':D. We often say it to each other when something unusual happens in our lives, although sometimes it is said ironically! it always makes us laugh. :rotfl:

On the subject of good things starting to happen as we change our mindset, i received a cheque in the post for £80 because Ofcom has told one of the broadband providers they have overcharged some of us for about a year . Who knew? This was totally unexpected but very welcome!

I hope the Kon Marie luck touches more of you lovely people.

No Kondo-ing today, been busy cleaning for my lovely elderly neighbour and then took someone else shopping. We had a little laugh and enjoyed a chat about her grandchildren and the funny things they said when she visited last week. She calls them her little twinkles and rightly says that they bring her such joy! Doesn't it make your heart glad?

Paid work tomorrow for 3 days but am planning the next tranche of paperwork at the weekend, I reckon I can bottom it by Sunday night!!:A

Thanks to many of you for the thoughful and very, very useful posts. It is indeed a most revealing and exciting journey our great leader has set us on!! :j
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

It must be quite difficult to fit everything into your time, especially with the extra hours you are being given, and the fact that you love your work. Perhaps you and DH might consider paying for some home-help for MIL? :)

We have to take care of ourselves, before we can take care of others.

    That's great! :T

Ironically, it might have been £1000 - but how likely would you have been to write a cheque for that amount, to that particular charity? Ignore the 'what ifs' - you're happy with a clearer home, and the charity is happy with nearly £100. Win, win! :j
