I am struggling a bit with my wardrobe. OH and I only have a small fitted wardrobe between the two of us. We had a huge flinging session in January when I started Kondo-ing but somehow the wardrobe has become full again. I have shoes under my bedroom chair that dont have a home.
I think another wardrobe sorting session is in order. In fact I got one of those charity shop bags through the door today so that might be my project for the weekend.0 -
Thanks mavvy, I'll pop in and visit
YL do you have drawer or shelf space? I think KM recommends most stuff is folded rather than hung.
Books removed from the floor, just a few clothes to go in the loft, mainly gloves etc for the ski box. Cardigan I brought and liked but did not love returned for a refund. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Dustykitten and iQueen - When you die and your children have to go through your stuff (whatever stuff you may have left after Kondo-ing!), they will find those milk teeth and they will go "EEEWWW! What did she keep those for?" and throw them away
I found my sister's and my baby teeth when I kondoed my late mother's things - in her jewellery box, of course! I also discovered my sister's and my top-knots in an old wallet a few days ago!
I don't think at least two of my children will say eeewww - one is Mum to a 15month-old and the other is due to present me with my second Grandbump in November! I'm sure they will be the same!:rotfl:When I die it will take my Son all of 30 mins to sort my stuff :rotfl:And he will be saying "Im sure Mum had more than this " But OMG she still has that terrible shire horse with one leg shorter than the other :rotfl:That I brought for her in East Street market in 1991 why on earth did she keep that for. Then to his wife " nah just chuck it in the rubbish we dont want that ":D
That is defo how it would go
Dustykitten the Fly ladies are missing you and sad you have been Kondo'd awayBut I am glad you have started the journey its worth it

If I die suddenly, (like tomorrow), it will take about 30 weeks for my 5 children to clear my house, working together and full-time!:rotfl:
No kondoing done today - I had to start dealing with an important legal letter.:( Off to bed now, with a banging headache!:(:(:(
Still (to beat in my head!) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

I see shops with cardboard boxes of coathangers outside on the street with FREE notices on them. Have never once seen anyone help themselves to a coathanger or five, tho!
Have decided that the DVD series lent to me by the Kid Bruv isn't worth the hours of my time to watch, aftering having been disappointed by the first one-and-a-bit episodes, so that can go back to him. As I get older (50 now) I find I have less tolerance for wasting my time on unsatisfying activities. Anyone else notice this?
Homestead is continuing to look pretty tidy which is attributable to having removed quite a bit of Stuff from it. Who knew?Perhaps out motto should be Don't tidy up, tidy out?
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning all
Love the motto, definitely one to live by.:T
Tesc0 have recycling bins for coat hangers in their stores, they either use them in the back of the shop or send them for recycling according to the sign on ours HTH
Kondoing has slowed here BUt everything that has been done has stayed neat and tidy.
Came across another St of card making stamps I won a few years ago and never used, they her now near the front door ready to gift to a neighbour later.
A couple of birthday cards from the stash box will go to work with me today as two people I know are having birthdays this weekend.
Going to input the codes of a couple of boxes then they can go to the school crafting box.
I've been doing more hours at work this week so not had a chance to kondo I did do some knitting and that went to school yesterday as it was 'props' for a tree there.
Have a good day all.SPC~12 ot 124

That made me laugh! Dustykitten, I think by asking 'what should I do with them' you're avoiding the question 'do they spark joy?' If they do, then keep them! Put them on display, get them set into a necklace or just take them out and admire them every so often.
If they don't spark joy, then MarieKondo would ask 'are you hanging on to the past or afraid of the future'? In that case, return them to the original owner (and I can tell you my reaction would be exactly as IvyLeaf suggests!:rotfl:), bury them at midnight in the garden or offer them to a dental museum. They're not doing much in your jewellery box.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0
