A funny thing keeps calling to me from the attic, I know for a fact I have a huge box up there FULL of birthday cards and cards from my much younger (pre married) days along with all of our wedding cards and trinkets. While I don't for one minute think I'm ready to kondo the wedding cards I think it's time to bring the box down and see what is telling me it wants to go.

I've just been through the recent additions to the lounge bin (about 3 weeks worth) to see what can just be recycled and what needs shredding. All has now been dealt with and two bags a ready to go out.

Thanks for that! I had already come across it, but I live in a very rural area and opportunities for sending books on an adventure are almost non-existent. I do take bagsful to a cafe, next-door to a holiday caravan park, where they sell well for the RNLI. ;)

I live in the back of beyond but I guess as I am still working I do get to come down from the hills..........although I am increasingly wishing I could retreat a bit more:rotfl:

Konodoed my favourite garden centre of some of its plants for a happy weekend in the garden - even though we are expecting horizontal Bank Holiday Weekend Rain here:D

All drawers in lounge done :D 4 bin bags of rubbish out of the door and 2 bin bags of paperwork on the fire and burnt :D Loads of junk paperwork etc dating back to 2007
All I need in folders now and stored flat  As cant fit them in the drawer standing up so a bit peeved about that.Hope MK can forgive me for this oversight ;)
have my sights on the big junk cupboard in the hallway that is where I am being drawn to next.
Books also went today to be sold to raise funds for our village hall.

A few left that I want to read but they are stored in a cupboard and will go when ive read them.

The house already looks and feels cleaner and ive done no cleaning since Monday :rotfl:

Well I ventured into the attic, and there is a huge pile of stuff on the landing that needs bagged ready to go out into the recycling. It is nearly all paper and card. I've found cards from people I honestly can't remember. Invites to parties from years ago and things my children Drew or wrote at school that I honestly think they have forgotten.
I used to end DH those huge cards that were the fashion in the 80s the pictures in some weren't particularly nice, I have culled the big cardboard box type envelopes they came in but I can't really recycle the cards as they are now Dhs so I'll wait until. We do the attic together before they get a decision made about them.
I did find a letter for DD1 from one of the queens ladies in waiting who was "commanded by her majesty to write to my DD thanking her for writing to the queen", I'll take that to her at the weekend and ask if she can remember what she did.
Off back upstairs to bag the stuff and see how many I fill.

    Edit
5 large recycling bags full of paper and cardboard
1 carrier bag of rubbish to bin.

Mrs MP well done on tackling some 'sentimental' items, I'm along way from that!

Had to get on with life and cleaning today so no major kondoing but a few random items put in the CS box and some post recycled.

mavvymoo Just seeing your name revved me up! :rotfl:

I'm itching to 'do a Mav' this weekend, so I'm going to get an early night, to be on top form tomorrow. As I write this, I'm looking round for [STRIKE]some[/STRIKE] anything I can get rid of NOW - unfortunately I'm spoilt for choice! :o

Joy, oh, joy! I've just noticed 4 bits of paperwork that need filing! ;)

Mav I am the same about a bunch of plastic daffs DD bought me for mothers day years ago. I have never Liked them - definitely no joy. She got them as "I know you like daffodils and these will never die" :o

But they're plastic, and naff. Naff daffs :rotfl:

They are going to have to go - just not sure how to explain it when she notices.

The Knex has left the building :T

I'm sure she won't mind you throwing out a bunch of plastic daffodils she bought you years ago. She is probably wondering why you didn't do so before :)

VJsmum It really is strange how these gifts make us feel. I was thinking when I chucked the glass sandy thingy out.Shall I phone him and tell him I was getting rid of it. But A -I dont think he would even remember it. and B- Why would he care. and C -He would think I was suffering from some form of dementia and I wouldnt want him worried :rotfl:

So good luck with the daffs just shut your eyes thank them for ruining the decor in your home for the last 20 years and let them go They were given to you with love and thats all you need to know.;)

My Shirehorse has lived in the garage for the last at least 24 years never seeing the light of day.But what I am going to do is ask my son if he would like it. When he says "what the hell do I want that for it is hideous" I shall thank it for being so ugly and of its time and let it go.

looking forward to MKing the cupboard today.More junk to go me thinks ;)

    Have a good day everyone
