Hi everyone, hope you're all well.
I ironed (!) and folded (!!) some t-shirts yesterday. Someone on here suggested using a magazine to get a neat fold a la Benetton. So that's what I did! :rotfl:

Snap I was singing "Frozen" when I was doing a cupboard the other day. I have a two year old little friend who has latched on to this - he only knows the three words "let it go" but he flings his arms in the air and sings it out at the top of his lungs - drives his parents nuts:rotfl:
Often when I Hoover I launch into Queen too......
How about Bon Jovi "It's my Life" - for when you meet Kondo opposition and you feel defiant.:rotfl:

You lot should worry, I was kondo-ing weeds whilst singing a sea shanty. And I haven't the slightest idea why.

I have just bought my first lot of soap since I moved into my first home... 10 years ago. I'm still working my way through the fairy liquid pile
I also 'stockpile' things that will be useful to me - cleaners when they are on offer, etc. I buy enough to last till I think the next offer will be on that item. It is wasteful of my resources to do otherwise (IMHO), even if it doesn't exactly fit within this principle. The important thing to me is that it fits the way I choose to live my life.
Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to caress my beautifully folded sock drawer :rotfl:
I've got a 10 year-old stash of soap, that went out of production after a company take-over. I've warned my children that there will likely still be some in the bottom of the wardrobe, when they finally clear my house!
I see nothing wrong at all in storing essentials, obtained at bargain prices, provided that they do not take up storage needed for other things.
I do that with coffee, on the same principle - the offers circle round different chains on a regualr basis. So, I only stock enough to get me to the next offer.
Knitting yarn, on the other hand...:rotfl:

IRONED t-shirts! I haven't ironed a t-shirt in over 30 years. Having had 5 children, I don't buy any clothes that need ironing or dry-cleaning. :rotfl:
I have found that folding (without a magazine) is quicker, after the first few.
That woman has helped you have an easier, tidier and more tranquil life, hopefully. :jNeeds, NOT wants!

1 Cardigan
2 Dresses
1 Dressing Gown

I have kondo-d a very large rolling holdall down to the chazzer where I gift-aid. It was in the shed, not the flat (wrapped in binbags to keep it nice) so not directly impacting day-to-day life, but I am still pleased that it isn't taking up mental space.
Going to loll in a bath for a while, working towards kondo-ing some bath products. Thar she blows...........:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2791858/meet-minimalists-families-checked-spendthrift-society-permanently-cluttered-homes.html
Just came across this article and thought it might interest.
Those wardrobes look very much like mine with very little clothes.
I almost Drooled with envy when I saw the empty drawer.
Heaven:A
I read with interest even though its the Daily Wail:eek: I particularly liked the list 'How a minimalist declutters' - I think that is how I am going about it in a round about way as I am working round some extensive ( and becoming increasingly stressful:() building work at the moment. also I was heartened by the family who took 4 years............I am giving myself to end of August to be 'organised'
A trip to recycle centre today.........people throw away perfectly good and usable things - its really depressing in terms of wasted money and landfill issues - there was some fab toys and sports gear that I am sure could have been gifted elsewhere - I think some people cant be bothered in putting the effort in.....they cant be bothered putting the right stuff in the right container either - recycle staff complaining they spend half their time retrieving stuff from one area to put in correct one - clothes from cardboard skip for example.its not hard is it?? I was also thinking I hope some of these people where not going to go back to their homes and begin the whole buying process again:mad:
Anyway I must really concentrate on my clutter and not anyone else's!!!!!!!!!! OH did jump into rubble skip and pull out a dozen NEW quarry tiles which is just what we need to finish a job:p We were dumping old insulation/rubble/broken plastic storage boxes. In the spirit of 'passing on' I have a dozen more bits up on Fr**gle which have some interest in so I am sure that lot will go. I have been outside past 2 days - at last doing some gardening and have declutterd the greenhouse - got a bit of a dumping ground over winter - loads of plant pots recycled.
Its all going in the right direction:TBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

A kindred spirit, I to have a wool stash:o it brings me joy and will eventually all be knitted (if I live to be about 130 and keep my eyesight and facilities that long):rotfl:
I've spent the last few days kondoing 3 balls of wool into 3 pairs a little knitted converse style bootees and a couple of hats for the scbu
Have mackled an old washing line and the base of an old trampoline into a playmat/storage bag for a load of megabloks so they will be taken to the local primary tomorrow for playtime. A pair of the bootees is a gift for a friend who work there the other two pairs are for my DD2 and now DGSSPC~12 ot 124

I too am looking at 130 years to kondo my yarn stash. It's all over the house - and I don't have a husband to hide it from! I'm planning to get it all used up asap, except for a few balls of sock wool, for emergency presents. As a last resort, I can crochet throws out of any left, and only get more for a specific project.
WHY do knitters get in this state? We buy yarn, in that 'lovely' dusty pink, for the wonderful sweater, but much later, we've gone off the colour and the pattern, and we can't think what to with it. Then there are all those leftovers and the odd balls that we bought on impulse, because it was SO soft, but is too little for anything useful!
I'm planning to brush up my embroidery skills, ready for a wedding sampler I have to do. As a refresher, I like the idea of knocking off a few 'sayings', so I did a bit browsing for some this evening. Love this one for the loo:
