Thank you for the best wishes re Kondo-ing the boxroom :) i expect OH will put the stuff in our bedroom, whose door is at right-angles to the boxroom door, so as he hasn't much stamina either, he will have to do it a little bit at a time. Otherwise we won't be able to get into bed tonight! Not sure if he'll even be able to start it today, as DS will be working most of tonight so won't get up until later, and we try to let him sleep in peace.

My "dawn chorus" this morning was a lovely man going past at 7.40, having a loud and sweary row with someone on his phone :(

    Good Morning Konverts,

Not posted on here for ages but i have been keeping up with the thread. Everyone is doing so well.

I bought a pair of trainers a few months ago, initially they were fine and comfy, i didn't have them on over the winter and i wore them on Tuesday and my feet were sore i put this down to my thick socks. I wore them again yesterday with my thinner socks and they were still sore. I got home, kicked them off and straight away put on my slippers and kondoed the trainers.

I visited a good friend yesterday i haven't seen her since before xmas she is a real clutterbug and for the first time ever i wasn't very comfy sitting amongst it all.
I had never noticed it before i started this journey, must take an eternity for her to dust it all.

I may be able to konvert her one of these days.

    regards

Depends on what you mean by a clutterbug!

Any clutter makes cleaning more difficult; it takes longer and is more tiring. Eventually, it becomes impossible to clean - even if one can find the hoover! :(

I have a friend with eclectic taste: lots of books and knick-knacks from her Eastern travels - her home is SO busy, that I find it over-powering! :o

I think I will be close to minimalist by the time I've finished discarding - my tolerance threshold is continually dropping! :j

A pleasant side effect of this thread has been that a picnic blanket I bought about 3 years ago, and which has never been folded correctly since, is now sitting all perfectly kondo'd and back in it's original shape!

Weather is beautiful and I went to get my load of clothes out the machine... only to find that it had never gone on :(

I'm just going to go get the freezer out of its space and sit it out for the binmen. Don't worry, I still have a freezer (albeit all of one drawer) but my main one gave up the ghost.
  • Took a carload of boxes and associated packaging to recycling. Also left three items of clothing and a travel bag that I hated into the charity shop. It's stuff I won't ever have to see again. Yay!

Just came across this article and thought it might interest.
Those wardrobes look very much like mine with very little clothes.
I almost Drooled with envy when I saw the empty drawer.

Evening all, well done to everyone for doing so incredibly well.

I've knitted another pair of bootees so used up some of the vast wool stash (but not much) loads more to knit.

This afternoon we made a start under the drive way a black bag full of junk is ready to be binned along with a 3 piece sofa cushion that was kept just in case! (It's the cushion that zipped all along the back of a sofa we got rid of a couple of years ago) which really does beg the question....WHY?????
2 broken radio/cassette players and a printer the cartridges were too expensive for have all been earmarked for the recycling centre.
A candle has been used up.

I had a new pair of shoes delivered this week and when I tried them on they were digging into my heels. I put them back in the box to think about whether to keep them however your post has made the decision for me - if they are not right and I know they dig in, I won't wear them and it will be money and space wasted.

Knit Witch, yay to Dr Witch coming on board.

Successful day catching up with a few little niggly things then as a reward, this afternoon kondoed a box file that I've been putting off for a while. Lots more paper shredded/in the recycling bin. Also went through another pile and several more items on their way out plus a few onto the reading pile. Hope to do a teensy weensy bit more tomorrow.
