Yesterday I picked up 2 really sturdy chairs from the CS. I have painted one grey already and it looks lovely. Just need to get the fabric for the seat tomorrow.

We can all sit down and eat together now and I can pass on some Kondo wisdom. :)
Great job with the chairs drusilla :T a couple of our dining chairs badly needed recovering last year and I happened to be in ikea for something else and went to have a look at the clearance section and found just a single curtain in beautiful material which was very similar to what we had on the other seats. It was very badly stained across the top few inches but as I only needed less than half of it, I grabbed it. Was so happy as it was only 90p :) and the chairs looked great.

    Thoughts to Kittie and family.

Not really got much further with my kondoeing efforts today, i think i am just having a recharge of my batteries. i am sure normal service will resume shortly.

    regards
    :j
  • My copy of MK's book arrived today :j

My clothes are nearly done. DS (14) has asked for help kondoing his t-shirts. If he is impressed enough with the results hopefully he will want to do something else.

Then its onto the books :D

    Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
After a rubbish day at work, I get in to find that OH has not only changed the bed, but washed it all and was now all nice and dry on the radiator:j

but what was my first thought.......yep......fantastic, I get to practice folding fitted sheets! also, I had bought a pack of 5 pants and instead of just chucking them in a drawer, I took them out of the packet and neatly folded them in before placing them in the drawer, gawd I really shouldn't get so much pleasure from doing this.

still got a long way to go but am finding that areas that have been kondoed are staying neat and kondoed!

Have also been spreading the word and my boss now wants the book (she has a HUGE house so who knows what she could declutter!)

    have a good evening y'all

My bedroom did feel slightly less cluttered this morning after tidying my make-up etc. yesterday. Anyway, I opened my knickers drawer, which hardly closes due to too many, badly organized items, I picked up one pair and folded them and stood them up. Before I knew it, I had done about 6 or 7 and now I can't wait to carry on. I can see so many discoloured, old ones, crying out to be chucked. The trouble is, I am always buying packs from M&S when there is a sale. I actually have knickers hanging, brand new, in my wardrobe. I have my grandchildren to stay for two days now but knicker sorting is calling me, lol. It will have to be Saturday now.

Morning everyone. Another busy day here as it's my daughters birthday. Last night my husband organised his electrical wires/plugs into empty toilet rolls and placed them all upright in a shoe box.....it looks so tidy :D

I'm so sorry to hear about the lady loosing her husband suddenly, it's such an awful shock. This week my uncle died suddenly aged 62 from a heart attack. It's so hard to take in when it's sudden like that.
    Kindness costs nothing :)
  • just wanted to pass my condolences to Kittie for her loss. Puts a lot into perspective

So my sorting has included all of my jewellery, lots of which I have donated to my god kids for their dressing up boxes, body lotions and creams which like another poster I hardly ever use anyway but get every christmas/birthday.
Not started on clothes yet but will be soon
Toolbox in the garage which had a remarkable number of screwdrivers/spanners and alan keys. I also had more screws than I have holes in the house, jars and jars and jars of them along with the equivalent number of wall plugs. The garage still has a long way to go

I will be honest now despite this maybe getting my ousted from the thread :D I am not actually seeing any real difference in this method compared to any other decluttering/sorting/tidying method. It is probably me as I will probably never wrap my knickers like a spring roll or say thank you to my bottles of wall plugs :o Mind you saying all of that I am a plastic bag samosa convert and will be continuing with this no doubt.

My cynical self will continue however and once I get started on the clothes I may well become a folder over night ;)

I'm with you on the "thank you" bit, for sure. I think my family would be slightly worried should I start to do that. :rotfl:
