Does anyone find they are getting stuck on old towels and similar stuff? I have quite a few really old towels that I have kept for ages....just in case I need things to mop up leaks etc etc. Now they obviously don't really bring me joy, but it does seem a practical thing to keep them...maybe they would bring me joy if I did have a leak and needed them etc:D Just not sure how big a a "rag bag" I actually need and whether to discard them or not.

I agree Ploppy57, there are things that, while they don't bring joy of themselves, are useful nevertheless. I keep a few old towels too, not only in case of a leak, but for wiping the dog's feet when she comes in from the garden, or from a walk, and various other quick cleaning jobs which may not be needed in a tidy apartment in a city where there is no mud, but definitely are here :o

Having to clean mud from the floors most definitely does not spark joy :(

Dropped another load of stuff to CS - it was really nice (& a bit odd) seeing so many of my previously donated items on the shelves & racks.

No Kondo'ing for me today - I overdid it a bit yesterday & am worn out today - like you StickyNicky I am full of cold.

I am starting to notice the domino effects of the kondo'ing as storage space becomes freed up - ie the small pile of books that was on my bedside cabinet is now stored vertically is the deep bottom drawer of said cabinet.

VJs mum - I also use hooks for necklaces - I have a very pretty set of hooks beside my chest of drawers. I also have a beautiful & very reasonably priced earring tree which is a real joy - sparker !

    Hello everyone,
I have been lurking around old style for a while, as I rarely have anything to add to all the good advice given out...
....but.. I am delurking myself to say that having avidly followed this thread, I am now in much anticipated possession of the KondoMari library book!
Thanks to everyone who has shared their journey, it has been so helpful and thanks to good old Glasgow Library services!
I need to log off and Kondo some kittens from my craft cupboard!

Just kondoed a plate of pancakes! Well, someone had to do it! :rotfl:

Woke in the early hours this morning! Finally, came downstairs for a hot drink and started itching to kondo! I kondoed 3 tatty carrier bags of komono - chucked most of it and the bags followed! Then I kondoed some of my knitting patterns, before going back to bed... slept like a peaceful baby! :T

Did my laundry basket today, kondoed several items and some holey dusters. Found 2 items of doll's clothes... my children are 30+!

vj's mum. Several years ago I found a sort of wooden coathanger thingie in TK Manx that had 2 rows of hooks where the bottom bar of the coathanger normally is. I think it was primarily for belts and scarves but I use it for all my necklaces. I don't know if they still do them or maybe if you google someone else may.

Once clothes are kondoed it's much easier to see what's needed. We went shopping today for clothes. I knew just what the boys needed. It was bought and has now been put away, labels removed. The bags have been samosa-ed.

I treated myself to a new knitting bag. The one I had belonged to my nan, it was way past it's best when I inherited it 23 years ago. I thanked it and I have placed the knitting needles in my lovely new bag.

DD kondoed her room whilst we were shopping. The pile of black bags by the back door has grown. I can't wait for it leave the house tomorrow. Tomorrow will also be spent finishing the boys rooms.

The house is starting to breathe.

Have a lovely evening. Hope you feel better soon stickynikki

Primarni used to sell these as recently as last year, IIRC they did a pink a and black version, circa £2. Could be worth a look, their stock is more regular than TK Maxx

    Good Evening Kondoers,

Nothing to report Kondo wise for me today but i did Kondo some wool into my crochet blanket at my patchwork club. I'm not in a sewing mood just now hence the crochet.

I suppose i just popped on to say hello really.

    regards

Have been doing fabric tonight, emptying plastic crates into the c-o-d from my bedroom - see above - I hope it works, first time I've tried to post a picture on here!

    Oh it didn't work :(
