:) I don't think my family are particularly exceptional, we manage not to brawl at weddings and, if some parts of the extended clan aren't talking to each other at times, at least it's peaceful. But a funeral is usually good for a few fallings-out. At that particular one, I kept a fixed smile, kept refilling the teacups and had my ears swivelling as some dirty laundry was aired.

Mum sold her wedding dress the month after the wedding. She's still got the hubby (wed 51 years this year) and I guess she figured she wouldn't be needing it again.:rotfl:

Jinny, I'm asking!! I need to know how come it went over a cliff??
Because I would have been in a lot of trouble if it had been the useless husband!
I lived quite near a cliff at the time and was busy packing up to move when I came across the dress.
I have a nice pic of me wearing it for the boys though

I have an image of you sitting there now in a wedding dress
    Like miss haversham

    haha

My first wedding dress was teal and short - I don't have that anymore and no photos as there were no photographers at my first wedding. I've no idea what happened to it.

My second dress was red and the waist was gathered in with various elasticated coloured threads, about 6 inches in depth. I'm sure I will never wear it again ( I was 6 1/2 stone at the time) but it is still hanging in my wardrobe. I've also got a very short flared dress, but again, I'd not be able to fit in it. However, I cannot imagine ever throwing these away.

I threw my wedding ring into the Thames the day after my divorce papers came through - I found that cathartic - but the dress over a cliff definitely trumps that Jinny. Like you, I get on perfectly well with the ex these days.

Wow, 3 bras, well done! I do have a lot of matching bras and knickers but what I have discovered in kondo-ing my undies today is that I hardly wore the matching knickers for some pairs as they were too ridiculous or uncomfortable. Thats why there were so many orphans, they have outlived their bras. The knickers that brought me most joy were the plain old M&S ones. I will definitely think twice when buying new sets now. :o

A 'set' of underwear? Why do they have to match? Tops are often light and bottoms are often dark. So why a set?

How come I have been busy for a couple of days, get a chance for a quick read of this thread and I have 12 pages to catch up on?????

Have I missed much? I am almost at the end of a huge proofreading job which I started just as I discovered KM here and I have only managed to do wee bits but I can't believe I can't wait to get some 'housework' time so that I can do more. What is wrong with me??? Mind you, I have been spreading the word among my friends and they have been proudly sending me their pics of tidy drawers. And one skint friend was very happy to KM her wardrobe and get £25 from one of those cash4clothes places.

No kondoing here yesterday, but plenty of evangelising! :j

Monthly blood test and nurse was not busy. Got chatting about de-cluttering and she's finding it hard with a job, a DP and DDs 2 and 5. I passed on the word about The Book, taught her to fold knickers... using a paper towel suitably folded into a knicker-shape. Then I samosa-ed another. She's spending this evening doing her carrier bags. <result!>

Then had lunch at a friend's house and demonstrated knicker-folding - she was thrilled, as she was keeping socks and tights in a carrier bag, so I showed her sock-folding and samosa-ing tights, so she can get all these garments in the same drawer! She cooked me a great lunch! Win, win, win! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
