Hi Judi
Nice to hear from you - thank you for your support
I am trying to get back on track but difficult.
I did claim PPI from one bank a good few years ago now as I remembered exactly the loan they offered me and the conditions... i only went in for a statement and walked out with a loan !
I'm not sure I have any other PPI as I dont remember ever paying anything.
When I was going through my very difficult period with MB*A they put i think thousands on with charges and interest... which has subsequently put my debt up and now the debt is charged against the house. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do there but had such a bad time with them years ago i'm literally nervous about contacting them and raking it all up again.
I'm staying in New Years and reflecting, making plans and resolutions (no more wrapping on Xmas Even being one of them) :rotfl:
Heres to a very positive and fabulous 2016 !0 -
I definitely wouldn't discount claiming back charges from MBNA - I did this years ago and got a few thousand back!!! It wasn't that difficult to do either!!!
I have been saying no more wrapping on Christmas eve for about 24 years!!! I've given up and resigned myself to it!!! ha ha
Anyway have good new year - its a time to look forward with hope not backward with regret in my opinion!!!0 -
Thank you and Happy New Year :beer:0

We all had a rough night last night - dd1 let the cat sleep on her bed thinking how cute she was until 5am when the cat wanted to "play". DD1 threw her out the room and subsequently she trotted in to mine to "play" under the bed!
Also, myself and DH are having bad nights sleep due to each others snoring - i may move to the couch or get him to buy another bed!!
Health
Day 3 of "diet" and so far so good - I'm obviously starving :rotfl: I refused a cake and biscuit from my friends last night - cant remember ever refusing so my mindset is focused which I am pleased about. They tried to coax me which i was surprised at but i stuck to my guns which raised a few eyebrowsI do know I need to move more but one step at a time :rotfl:
I have a curry night out on Thursday .. need to look at the best option for that and a 40th on Saturday .. again a buffet - got to stay focused... got to stay focused...
Home
I took the decorations and tree down on New Years Day which is the first time I have ever done so early - Id had enough and havent enjoyed the festive season at all really. But on a positive I cant wait to get the house "finished". I was hoping DH would make a start as he has been off work this week but he has done nothing  He says he has a week to book off work before end of March and he will do the DIY then when everyone is not in. OMG Ive got to wait till March.... I dont think so!
Finances
Well Ive jiggled finances and managed to set up DD again with gym so hooray no more calls chasing me for money - what a relief!
Ive decided to write a letter of complaint to MBN* - about the charges they put on my cc - it has always troubled me the way they treated me so if nothing else, at least I will have confronted them.
All of my financial paperwork is "stored/thrown" under my bed and I so need to sort it into some sort of order - will tackle this weekly I think
I'm still saving £1 a day for Xmas 2016, still saving my 20ps, started a pot with £2 coins in and a jar for "slummy".
Ive also started transferring the "odds" from the balance in my current account to another current account with them and in a matter of a couple of days there is about £4.00 - just from the pence! Definately going to keep this up and I dont have a debit card for this account so cant spend it - it will go towards my dental bill which I need to save up for as a visit is definately looming and I cant afford to go yet
Busy day today - going to get brunch now, washing on, cleaning, cook Sunday dinner , the BEDROOM ! ironing my clothes for the working week and then a bit of knitting.
I thought I loved Sundays :rotfl:0 -
The first week back at work was a really busy one but productive with new challenges and courses (groan)! At least there was no role play
Health & Happiness
I lost 4lbs in my first week - woo hoo ! - i'm really pleased as I went cold turkey on the crisps (my favourite snack), biscuits and chocolate. Week 2 is proving a little more difficult in that I have been out twice this week - one for a curry and last night a 40th! I tried to make the best choices but obviously this weeks progress wont be as good as last weeks and i did want to lose 3lbs this week - ive got till Thursday morning to do so
I havent increased my physical activity as yet
I have pinched a few ideas from CraftingMad's 2016 challenges and one of them being new healthy recipes each month (bear in mind i'm not that good in the kitchen so it is a challenge)!
New recipe 1/12: Quiche made from cottage cheese, eggs and veg
Home
No DIY done just general cleaning
Finance
Ive started on the paperwork and in the process of writing to MBN&.
The nights out were cheap - infact the curry was a treat so didnt pay anything and the 40th cost me £4 for the night as i drank diet c*ke.
However, I do have DH birthday this week and we are going out to celebrate with a group of friends who have major birthdays as well. How on earth we can keep the cost down on this i'm struggling with. I am going to have to use my EF to put towards this.
I did have quite a few NSD days and took lunch to work every day. I'm continuing depositing in my pots when I can (funds running out but I do find loose change around the house wha ha ha ) and checking my accounts although I wont be able to do any more on the banking front as no pennies left to move :rotfl:
Today's plan is to make the quiche and i should be able to take to work tomorrow for lunch; clean the bathroom; strip the bed, hoover upstairs, sort some paperwork from under the bed, washing and iron my work clothes, knitting and catching up on BB!0 -
Its been a cold and yet another busy week and i'm shattered but at least I have had some fun time as well.
Health & Happiness
My second weigh in wasn't good in that I had put 2lb on  I still hadnt had crisps, chocolate or biscuits but i did feel bloated and i just knew I hadnt lost any - obviously the buffet and curry had an effect!
I was treated to a day out by my DH today and another Indian meal as we met up with friends we hadnt seen for a while as they all had special birthdays - whilst it was lovely my diet has gone out the window. Its so frustrating as I normally dont go anywhere and since Xmas there has been an event each week - so diet is not going to plan
Home
I'll go for fairly tidy - that's all :rotfl:
Finances
Letter typed and ready to be sent to MBN* - cant decide whether to send first class or recorded delivery - but cant get to PO until Saturday -maybe DH will go for me.
EF went towards today - it was worth it even though its no down to zero!
I couldnt resist counting my 20ps - £11.20 so far
Ive got £20 to last till pay day and with that I have to get petrol - (food budgeted for and I need to shop tomorrow).
I got £10 from John Lew*s as a good will gesture for the problem I had with them over xmas - but I had to open an account with them to get it - so I did. Now I dont know what to do with it - decisions decisions!
Tomorrow will be busy as need to shop, clean, cook .. the usual - I will also do some knitting and watch BB... well hopefully !0 -
My weekly update:-
Health & Happiness
Stayed the same with my weight - i'm happy with this this week as i didnt have a good week (the 50th birthday celebration kicked me off on a downward spiral) - i'm trying harder this week.
Home
ive not stopped this cleaning this weekend! one of my challenges is to do at least 16 minutes of cleaning each day - i doubt it will make any difference but i will give it a go.
Finances
Ive posted 1st class the letter to MBN* - I wonder if i will get a response soon - even if its an acknowledgement? I think they have 6 weeks to respond to my complaint.
I got through a busy week and I have £1.50 in my purse - thank goodness its pay day tomorrow!
Been working overtime as and when which will help.
Ive set myself 16 challenges for 2016 - no pressure then!0 -
Sounds like a good week all in all. I think 16 minutes of housework a day will make all the difference. I wish I could get my family to do 16 minutes a week :rotfl:Not giving up
